Same rig I used for garfish on the old Hastings pier using mackerel for bait , or live prawns 4 bass on the storm water drain at warrior square. Happy catching from Australia Nick 🇦🇺
Float stops are no good if you are fishing more than 7-8 feet deep really as they will not go through the rod rings well, depending on rod length may even be only good for 5-6 feet deep. Elastic, PowerGum or even just a normal Stop Knot would be better for any deeper as they should go through rings no problem. Supposedly Mackerel feed between 6-20 feet so Float stop not so good for that.
