Thank you Dan I have been getting better with ANS rewire. A visit to a psychologist for childhood repression has had a major impact on improving my pain. Pilates 3 times a week at home has helped my body as I was so tense. Love to you all and look after yourselves

Hi Dan, CFS Unravelled was one of the first books I read on the subject after getting my diagnosis and I've also watched many of your videos. I just want to say a huge thank you, you've had a real impact on my ongoing recovery journey and I really appreciate what you do. Wishing you a happy and healthy new year

Such a great video Dan, thanks for sharing. Many comments below - but I first want to say I hope you are doing as well as you can.
I finished your program about 9 months ago now. At the start you asked us to set some "big" goals for I think 3 months, 6 months etc, which I did. To reach what seemed like impossible goals, I set little goals for each day. Though the larger goals were there in the background, I paid them little mind - and really didn't think I would reach them.
So starting from mostly couch bound, I set little goals like doing a short meditation practice each day. Then slightly increased the time as my energy envelope expanded. And eating better, slowly but surely cutting our sugars. Then movement, from simple stretches to now 30 minute walks in the sun every day. On harder days I retreated and better days moved ever so slightly ahead. It felt like I was living on a game board really:)
So...my larger goals were to be able to eat brunch with friends - check. Spend Thanksgiving with my family -check. And finally spend one night at the beach for my son's 50th birthday. Check (and double bonus points for actually spending two nights!:)
This is all due to your program, Dan. I will be forever grateful. And how I am passing on my gratitude and improving health? We live very near the fires in Southern LA and know many who have lost their homes. Including some in my local dysautonomia association. As a retired child psychologist I offered to help parents, teachers and other adults help children who are struggling with no homes, pets gone, no schools and trauma in general. Taking my eye off my illness and not identifying as a sick person, as you advised early on in your lessons, has allowed me to help others and find new joy in being able to do this.
I wish you all the best,
And LOVED!!!!! the kangaroos (wallabies?) in the background!
    Bev

      Hi Bev
Wonderful to hear about your progress and the changes in your life ♥️♥️
What a wonderful place to build the next phase of your recovery - invest your wellness into things that bring you joy, keep the balance and stay focussed on your goals.

PS: Yes they just snuck up on me, I didn't even realise at first as they were behind me.

I'm committing to quiet mornings of contemplation, meditation and prayer. To structure this commitment I will only turn on my phone and/or computer after the noon hour and use my tablet in do not disturb mode (I need access to Google docs) without notifications of any kind.

@@CFSUnravelled1 yes thanks, I've noticed that phones etc can easily distract me from my goals and actually block my return to a thriving life. With mornings much more in "tech free mode" I have time and space to develop the habits that will lead me to full recovery.

Happy new year to you, Dan. Thank you for all that you are doing to help maintain momentum. I have improved enormously thanks to your programme. There is still some way to go, but the reminder to do a few little things on the harder days is very timely just now. Especially the new things which build a bit of excitement, joy, and momentum. Thanks again.

Thank you for this video. Goals have been so scary for me because of past goal failures. I needed this to remind me to revisit my ANS rewire notes. Thank you Dan.

I think it's helpful to let go of the idea that not reaching goals is a failure. Think of it like this - the sailors would use the stars to navigate the oceans, but they would never reach them. Progress not perfection 🤓

Committed to incorporate movement in my day whether it be a stretch on the floor, a bit of picking up around the house or a walk.

Loved the video🙏, and loving the bird song. So peaceful
Yes exactly making the goals smaller. For instance I'm bedbound, sofabound now, but maybe I can step outside on the patio for a couple of minutes to get some fresh air. When I feel a little better my goal is to walk a little bit.
My brain fatigue is severe. Can only speak for 10-15min.
Instead I can speak 2 times x 5min on the phone. Focusing on what I can do. Can't watch 20min video? Watch 2x 10 min with break. Make sense?

That makes SOOOO much sense - its interesting how many people stumble and don't use obvious strategies like that!

Go Christian!!! You will get there! That's exactly what I did am and now about 75% back from bedbound at 20% or so.

Yes, lovely to see them come say high. I did wonder if the crow would make the video inaudible - it was insanely loud. But some clever audio editing made it OK.

This has been really helpful Dan. I'm going to focus on improving my current external environment and importantly work on my internal environment which I know is holding me back. I think improving my external environment first will give the boost to my mood to follow through on my internal environment. I do find using the REWIRE technique does help me interrupt negative thoughts and replace them with more positive ones - when I use it ! This podcast has been a wonderful encouragement. Thank you once again Dan and I wish you a Happy and Healthy 2025

Great to hear you feel supported. Yes, we simply seek to improve things however we can - then we can do more as we make recovery progress. Stay gentle with yourself and keep seeking a peaceful experience with the ups and downs.

Biggest obstacle: I never know how well I'll be in the future, so mostly uncertain how well I can work for a goal.

Yes so true - I am facing the same challenges now with my adhesions. I have found that focussing more on the present and being more flexible with things is helpful. It kind of gets forced on us, but I think there is value in that.

@@CFSUnravelled1 Do you mean "adhesions" like in the buddhist teachings?
