I totally agree with you! I used to love her and loved her music, but right now she doesn't even now where she is... Probably because the industry pull her to change her pronouns but it seems that deep inside she knows she is a woman. Still beautiful? All of these “genders”/“pronouns” definitions are literally personality traits not sexualities. I’ve read several of them. It just makes these people feel special.
My pronouns are who/where ... just to make everything a bit more difficult. "Is who coming?" -"Who?" "Yeah I invited where too" -"Invited who where?" "Invited where here, but dunno if who is coming." -"Who are you talking about?" "Yes, where" -"What?" "Who is coming!" -"That's what I'm asking you!" "I already told you!" -"No you didn't!" "I invited where here so who is coming too!" -"I give up"
When I was 9, I used to dress like Alice in Wonderland and I was pretty sure there was a portal to Wonderland somewhere, if I could just find it. When I was around 10 to 11, I went through three phases-Sandy from Grease, a pop star named “Cookie” (this was after some pop singer named Candy-I can’t sing, btw), and Wendy from Peter Pan. I had those ringlets down pat, with help from my Grandma. When I was 12 and 13, I got into country music and used to wear cowboy hats and boots. Sigh. Those were simpler times. I’m so glad all this wasn’t a thing when I was a kid. I was trying on different personas to find myself and see what fit. But luckily, nothing permanent was being pushed back then.
That is how I feel about my childhood, growing up I was a major Tom boy and only had guy friends, but when I hit puberty I grew out of it and naturally became girly, and now I love being a women. I hate all the stuff that being pushed on kids when it could all just be a phase, and don’t get me started on puberty blockers 🤦🏼♀️
I appreciate your ability to separate the art from the artist. We shouldn’t feel guilty listening to music or engaging with art that we like because there are things about the artist we don’t like!!

I don't understand why Demi says, "I just want to feel human" Girl, regardless of your gender identity and pronouns and sexuality, you're human. You're human regardless of what you do. What you go through, what you experience, what you decide to change about yourself. Regardless of our gender identity, sexual orientation, pronoun usage. It doesn't matter what it is. We are ALL human beings. Nothing is gonna change that. No matter what we do, we're all gonna die someday. Humans aren't immortal. We're not vampires. We're humans. Have I stressed everything enough? lol Should I tweet this to Demi? lol
Saying, "I just want to feel human" is one way to tell the world there is something missing in their life. The way they are currently living is not right. They know they are missing something, but they don't know how to fix it. It might be a mental issue or they are simply missing God in their life.
I feel like I shouldn't have to express this because it is such a basic concept but I love how you can get the point across and speak reason and views without tearing the person down. I can understand how people can be disgusted with LGBTQ but I hate listening to that. I get that it seems so unnatural but .. These are humans we are talking about and you show compassion and like the likable parts of these people even though you do not agree with them. I wish we had more people like you, not black and white reasoning. I watched the Dylan Melanie videos and I actually liked him as a person despite his views and the distasteful things he has done in place of actual women. I really liked how you expressed that he was quirky and fun despite not agreeing with his choices. ❤️
and its making him emotionally drained and he is making bad choices one after the other... coz the people supporting him are themselves wrong... some dont like trans community or lgbtq .. some are using dylan for fame.. some for entertainment..... and the minority that knows this is wrong... is getting backlash from the whole community ij general....[ as an outsider to these things ( coz i am not on any social meeia platform and not lgbtq and live in india where sex is not an issue ) so i can give an idea without being biased]... CALLING OUT DYLAN IS MAKING HIM JUST MORE POWERFUL AND THE PEOPLE THAT THEY ARE USING HIM TOO. AND THE LGBTQ COMMUNITY IS GETTING DRAGGED INTO THIS even though THEY DONT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT.. SO PEOPLE ARE PLAYING WITH The whole COMMUNITY, ACTUAL LGBTQ AND THE PEOPLE JUST NORMALLY YOUNG AND CONFUSED.. SO I THINK BRETT ,MATT AND ALL THOSE PEOPLE THAT ARE CALLING HIM OUT SHOULD STOP IT... AND AND TRY THEIR BEST TO NOT SAY A SINGLE WORD THAT CAN TRIGGER ANYBODYS WEAKNESS COZ DYLAN AND TEAM IN 365 DAYS USED CLIPS OF THESE REPORTERS OUT OF CONTEXT TO GAIN MORE SYMPATHY AND SUPPORT SO.. CALLING HIM OUT IS JUST MAKING HIM MORE POWERFUL. WE SHOULD TRY A DIFFERENT APPROACH
If I saw her in the "gents" room, I would give her a mildly disapproving look. And I probably would not even know who she was, just that she wasn't a guy.
She changed her pronouns 1 week after that froyo sugar cookie incident when the internet called her out for being a Karen. She used it to dodge critism and gain support. It was always performative.
I began hating her after that incident and I still do. Unfortunately, I have a family member that LOOOOVES her music and movies, so I have to keep up with her.

Brett thanks for giving the rest of us a voice who feel like we can’t speak out over social media or even at school. You are amazing and I binge watch these videos
All of this gender identity is insane. The bottom line is that it’s now trendy to “identity” yourself based upon your mood at anytime. Ok, fine, human beings have moods everyday but that has nothing to do with what you are as a person. Requiring other people to adopt, follow and support your daily mood is just playing semantics and games.
For most people it is what they actually feel. I am she/her because I am a cisgender female, yes these are confusing times but, celebrities aren’t great examples of regular people with someone struggling to find themselves.
Imagine all the young people that may have followed along with her but didn’t just stop at pronouns. They may have chemically or surgically altered themselves. Only for their inspiration to come back a year later and say “oh well, maybe not, I’m on a gender journey”.
She didn’t encourage people to adopt new pronouns or transition. She encouraged people to try to find themselves and that just so happens to INCLUDE gender identity. I never understood this sort of “trans people are going after children!!!!” mindset. Vast majority of data support gender social transition. Also, kids can’t even HAVE surgery. What would they be getting surgery for? Like, if a kid is showing signs of dysphoria then they aren’t getting surgery. They usually just get puberty blockers, which are reversible AND have been shown to have other uses aside from helping with transition. Stop watching Liberal Tiktoks/twitter clips. Yes, I agree they are stupid and usually can’t argue well for their side. Just look at data and if you wanna see some content creators who talk well of trans issues then I would recommend Vaush (has portfolio of sources) and Samantha Lux (trans person that debunks a lot of false rhetoric from media about trans people)
I really feel for Demi… her Daddy Issues got her into addiction and into a Toxic relationship with a much older man early in her life and that completely screwed her up. I hope she can find herself and heal the underlying issues.
@@snoozyq9576 I am not. But since her parents got divorced in 1994 - when she was only 2 years old, my guess is that her father wasn’t as present in the family / in her life as she would’ve wished. Plus her mother had an ongoing battle with addiction to alcohol and pills, as well as an eating disorder. So that also didn’t help. In the end we all seek out the love we think we deserve.
Liked Demi Lovato as a kid, but now she is among those celebrities who actually are trend-jumpers and just doing stuff like changing pronouns or coming out just for the attention it gives them.
This chick is so insane. She tried to get a small business put out of business. What was their crime catering to everyone. Which ppl like her claim they're inclusive but when a business is inclusive they try to shut them down.
bipolar people tend to lie about their interests to attract and befriend important people. They can also have narcissistic tendencies. guess who is bipolar? demi.
I agree with you. I use to be a huge fan of hers. Now she's constantly playing the "victim" or constantly thinking the world revolves around her. Doing anything and everything because she needs attention constantly.
Yes, typical liberal celeb. Just like jon stewart rant and raving about the Repubs not passing bill to help our Veterans..... did he read the bill? because Dims had some things hidden in the bill. Repubs said fix it then we will pass it.
During COVID, I decided to watch documentaries and I watched all of Demi starting from when she was 16. I counted 28 disorder’s/gender/diagnosis and don’t forget she’s only 32. That isn’t normal. She craves attention in so many ways! She recently said in an interview that if she reads good reviews it hurts her ego and if she reads negative ones, it hurts her ego as well. She’s teaching young kids the wrong message. And she’s very aware of her behaviour. And others are too. When is it going to be enough!!!!!???
"Disrespectful to the community" A "community" doesn't just deserve respect by default; respect is earned. I hate how everyone is afraid to speak openly around these groups for fear of reprisal.
it's sad as a 14 yo lesbian that the gay people before me fought so hard for my rights to get married and just be respected and now these radical activists have hijacked our community and are destroying what we once earned and fought for. :(
You don’t have to like them but you do have to be civil and respect them. There’s a way to go about saying things that isn’t rude and you guys clearly don’t know anything about that.
Brett, you summed it up so perfectly and succinctly : you just cannot do ANYTHING right anymore. No matter how politically correct or woke you try to be, there will always be people telling you that it's not enough or you've still somehow inadvertently done something wrong and offended somebody. It's just absolutely exhausting because the rules change with each passing day. I'm not going to spend my precious time on this earth constantly worrying about every word that comes out of my mouth potentially offending someone. And people are literally working themselves up into a tizzy trying to keep up with the ever changing language and ideology. You are not better than me because you spend hours upon hours making sure you're up to date on the newest woke nonsense and know all the 1,000 new genders and pronouns. Put that time and effort into something productive, like going to school or doing volunteer work. Because no matter how hard you try to be this enlightened, perfectly woke human being, the far left will never be satisfied, EVER.
I'm just going to say it...Women are not just feminine and men are not just masculine. We are both feminine and masculine. Sometimes I feel extremely feminine, sometimes I feel more masculine, as I am writing this laying on my bed in a T-shirt sweating my tits off, i am not feeling feminine, but I am not feing masculine either. But would I change my pronouns because of it? No. You don't have to feel feminine everyday to be a woman and you don't have to feel masculine everyday to be a man. What I am trying to say is, it's completely normal and doesn't mean you have to go change your pronouns. This coming from the person with the cartoon profile picture.
This!!! The many people who change their pronouns or identity because they feel more feminine or masculine is baffling to me. Anyone can feel feminine and masculine equally or more of one or the other, I don't understand what's so confusing about that.
This whole pronoun thing I think is something felt within Demi has been over sexualized and exploited throughout her career Demi was in a “Britney Spears” type of situation without the formalization of an actual conservatorship. She was control by her team in very aspect of her life because I seriously think the people that worked for her forgot who signed the checks and because she has abandonment issues she nearly died to get away from those people
I typed on my Facebook the other day that I now identified as a turnip and my pronouns were this and that. A few days later I said that the whole community was starting to sound like a Dr. Seuss book and on the fly came up with this: “I identify as “who” Horton hears it, so can you! They and them and who and where , pronouns they are EVERYWHERE!”
Just want to make a point in response to what Brett said towards the end of the video. No, goth/emo kids in the 2000s maybe weren't "taking medicine and chopping off body parts" but self-mutilation was definitely still a thing like cutting. She's right in saying it is worse now, but just wanted to say maybe this tendency has been around for a while; it's just getting more out of hand.
Yeah. I've got several friends who went goth and found it almost impossible to go back to normal life. Married, then divorced. Ongoing depression. This stuff can't be easily reversed, even when it's not physical.
I think the big difference is that self-harm/mutilation was generally seen as a negative thing by everyone but a subset of the goth/emo community. It wasn’t seen as a general good and an essential part of existence like “fully transitioning” is today.
Self harm wasn’t just goth/emo people, used to listen to lots of techno and rap hanging out in ghettos. Self ham starts from a shortcut of distracting yourself from mental pain to which turns into an addiction then if you go far enough you learn medical know how to fix yourself up so no one knows
@@loatherd that's a fair point so thank you for making it. Goth and emo just happened to be the ones mentioned in the video, and I feel like in those circles it was a "trend" more so than in others
@@peripheralarbor lol went goth and found it almost impossible to go back to a normal life? How hard is it to change the type of clothes you wear and music you listen to? XD I had a goth friend who was super into the scene in his 20s/30s where he met his wife. Now they both do retro 50s/60s shit and go to wine events. I dunno, maybe you meant the goth mentality of gloom and doom, and they embraced it to the point that it permanently altered their mental health. Still seems silly, it's just a fad.
I have to agree, Demi has great music! And Demi wanted to experiment, but she always loves to be in the spotlight. Demi is backtracking, and she spent a whole YEAR parading and using they/them. Honestly, I think she is a HUGE influence on the youth of today, and is getting slandered for going back on a commitment she made. Pronouns are not a game, and people need to understand that. Chopping off your body parts is not reversible, taking hormones is not easy to reverse, and the media is influencing the youth to do all of these things
they are a game. one with lots of victims to prove it. it's a game because too many ppl have abused it for the attention for anyone to be taken seriously.🙄
@@benfontaine1972 I mean i dont like it but music is subjective to a degree. If its just banging pipes on a wall and yelling its bad but Demi's music isnt bad enough to be objectively bad.
I watched Demi's recent documentary out of curiosity and that told me that she's way too deep into all of this now to get any help... She has an incredible ability of just straight up waffling constantly and is surrounded by a team of people who are too scared to tell her the truths she needs to hear. Her narcissism is palpable. She says she's off hard drugs now but still drinks/smokes weed in moderation, so there'll probably be another documentary soon when she relapses again... Just sad to see people like this to be honest. Maybe it's a mixture of the industry, her friends and herself that brought her to this (obviously she is accountable for her actions though) - I'm just amazed at the grandiosity and lack of self-awareness she has. (Commented very similar to this on Matt Walsh's video too)
She went back to rehab again and is now sober. I thought she was using drugs again when she was talking to aliens and the crazy pronouns bs. I knew she wasn’t okay. I noticed that everyone who goes on and on about being non binary never really dates anyone of the same sex etc. She is dating a man again and has never been seen with a woman.
Alot of it is due to her childhood trauma. She started cutting herself when she was 12. Her dad was an addict and abused her mother. She was sexually assaulted at age of 15 by an older guy. On top of that she was a child star. She grew up in a shitty environment with no father figure. I don't care about her pronouns or what she does with her life but I hope her the best even though she has done some shitty things.
This is why we need to take it seriously, not because these people are truly what they say they are, but because they are truly mentally unwell. They need your help not your affirmation
Oh they're just working as rolemodels at this point and passing this behavior as normal for youth and this is here to stay. This is humanity now. Unfortunately. It will increase each year, along with human population growth where IQ's will just keep going down with each generation until we all just derp outselves out of existance.
So fluid... Her entire brain has gone fluid... And probably a lot of it dripped through her ears while she was asleep. Or maybe just her tire needed replacing so she went with she/her again, as BabylonBee so beautifully explained.
I'm so tired of pronouns. They don't make who you are and they can't fix your problems. If your a guy your a guy if your a girl your a girl. If you have mental problems or feel insecure then seek help from a therapist its not that hard people! Love your videos Brett
Being goth or emo back in my high school early 2000 days had nothing to do with being transgender. It was just how you expressed your style influenced by the music you listened to.
I'll tell you what she definitely is… *Crazy.* That's what should be in all of her pages. Her bipolar issues only excuse her so far, her father issues only excuse her so far, and her low self-esteem doesn't excuse her at all.
But you love Demi's music. So let her give your heart a break, give your heart a break! There's just so much you can take! Give your heart a break, oh yeah yeah! *nostalgic music from the summer of 2012*
I'm disabled and sometimes my motorized wheelchair won't even fit in some disabled bathrooms so I literally sometimes can't use the restroom when I have to. It's strange that these people turn down bathrooms they can use just because they don't want to.
Honestly I think Demi highlights the fact that we should just allow women to be masculine sometimes and men to be feminine. There's nothing wrong with that. You don't have to go changing your whole gender and pronouns and confusing everyone around you just because you are feeling a little more masculine lately. Come on
We're all glad you were able to dodge the bullet in Hollywood that many of these young actresses, especially through Disney, have gone through Brett I don't know what it is with Disney actresses and growing up insane
I’m happy that Brett is a fan of her music like me and also sad that Demi’s really just . . . I don’t even know. I miss her music of 2013 and 2016 that was the time when she wasn’t going all “fluid with everything”
@@isaiahhill2104 yeah especially cool for the summer (I mean the lyrics themselves are pm about wanting to have lesbian sex) but it wasn’t pervading all of her music and she wasn’t going around pretending she could sing to ghosts or changing her pronouns temporarily because she also temporarily didn’t “feel” like a woman
Demi never got over her parents' divorce. Most kids don't. It permanently damages them. Be good to your kids. Make family priority for your sake and those that you are bound to.
If someone would tell me they don't feel like going to the toilet as it's labeled for women and men separately, I would tell them to p.ss themselves then and identify as a toilet paper. This whole thing is getting absolutely ridiculous
I remember a few years ago I was thinking of how much I liked demi that she stayed true to herself and didn't give in to all the pressure around her. Oh how the times have changed☹️
And Demi gets the blame? Why? Demi isn’t telling anyone to change their bodies. As unhappy as Demi is with her body she isn’t removing anything. If someone has done that it was THEIR decision Demi didn’t tell anyone to do that and she hasn’t done it either
That ad read had a smooth transition both into the ad AND back into the show! Ben and Knowles are gonna need to step up their game, I don't think I've ever seen that before!
I was goth and have since detransitioned. In high school I would paint my nails black, wear all black, use white-out to write my favorite band names on my backpack and some song quotes on my notebook, and was generally depressed and angry. While much of my taste in music is the same, I don't bother with the rest of the stuff. I am glad I didn't have any surgery, other than the tattoo.
“I, ME, I, MY, I, because feeeeelings”. It’s the exact same narrative. It’s not trans anything. It’s narcissistic evil at its highest level. Self healing. Self reflection. Self ABSORPTION is the better term. 😁 Every one of them. It’s getting boring. Redundant. Tiresome. Hey B, take care. Sorry you got the sickies, youngster. But it’s good-crank up those natural immunities!! Be well. 🌺
I strongly agree, she's know she suffering from trauma but with this victim culture, they rather subject society with their insanity than get help, which sadly the medical industry are going along with this destructive behavior, hopefully she gets the proper care, however she did try to bankrupted a ice cream mom and pop's shop because it triggered her eating disorder, despite her hardships I don't think she's a good person.
Question! Why the fuck do people care so much about what another Person identifies as. Can we start letting people live life as they want to and stop this bullshit judging? As long its legal and everyone involved is happy it shouldnt be anybodys business!
They can do whatever they want but they can’t expect others to go along with it and support their mental health issues. Stop acting like these people don’t get a mental breakdown when they are not referred to as their “preferred” pronouns which a lot of people think is bullshit.
She just proves that she was doing it all for attention and to get away from the froyo drama In conclusion, like that one comment, we should all use dude/bro. Totally universal and works with all genders. And if you’re feeling a bit fabulous or sassy, Queen works too.
She probably lost her audience when she went woke. After her album tanked, she realized the stupidity of it and that her audience was probably confused and having a hard time, and decided to drop the act
"As a result of some reflecting, deep thinking, and healing, I have discovered that I identify with something that is very big in current pop culture."
Ya'll i got a confession. When i was around 13, i had started an insta and it asked for my pronouns so i literally thought that "they/them" was literally correct english when someone says "oh yeah, do you know sarah? and brittany? I love them" BRO IDK WHY IT CLICKED IN MY HEAD FOR SOME REASON so the whole time in my profile i had she/her and they/them sOMEONE SLAP ME ☠ ☠
I had an ex who was very similar and it seems to me that these are people who were victimized (usually sexually) as children or teens and respond to that with an intense desire to not be someone bad things happen to, which is what a woman is to them, instead of realizing that life is almost endless profound suffering regardless of who you’re born as and learning to accept and live with that is so much healthier than running from it.
When I realized I was not trans (I’m 18 and I thought I must have been trans as a young teen because I had a normal range of masculinity and femininity), I was scared to start using she/her again because I thought people would absolutely hate me and rip me apart for “reverting back” to being a woman. These spaces are not the safe places they advertise themselves to be. They are not accepting. If you are wrong about your identity as a *literal* teenager, you are hated forever. I’m so lucky to have met people (even some lgbt people, I’m not straight) who are accepting and not chronically online.

Growing up, she had the best voice on Disney channel. It’s sad cos I’m someone tried on half of the LGBTQ-AEIOU(and sometimes Y) labels when I was a teenager, but you have to let everyone make their own mistakes and learn in their own time.
I have over 1000 clinical hours interning at a mental health facility. Listening to Demi Lovato talk about herself is literally like listening to a crazy person.
So are they crazy or mentally ill? I was admitted to a mental hospital as a teenager for a suicide attempt. I wasn’t crazy, just wanted to die. Gotta say, there were interns there too who treated us, me included, like garbage. Talked about us behind our backs and looked at us like we were going to blow the building up or something. Youre absolutely right. I'll tell you even more... this personality traits are belonging to a different identity, to a demonic spirit.

Is this UA-camr homophobic?
and its making him emotionally drained and he is making bad choices one after the other... coz the people supporting him are themselves wrong... some dont like trans community or lgbtq .. some are using dylan for fame.. some for entertainment..... and the minority that knows this is wrong... is getting backlash from the whole community ij general....[ as an outsider to these things ( coz i am not on any social meeia platform and not lgbtq and live in india where sex is not an issue ) so i can give an idea without being biased]...
My dad walked up behind me "is that his daughter?" talking about Ben Shapiro, I burst out laughing telling him that you get that all the time.

I have to agree, Demi has great music! And Demi wanted to experiment, but she always loves to be in the spotlight. Demi is backtracking, and she spent a whole YEAR parading and using they/them. She has a new album out that no one is talking about...so she changes her pronouns to get back in the news cycle. Unsurprising.

7:51 What a freaking line. Up there in my opinion with “SJWs can go kick rocks” 🔥
Whoever is cutting Demi Levatos hair needs to be fired. It’s worse than Will Byers moms patented bowl cut.
She gets her haircut at her local Home Depot.
It’s adorable that she refers to her self-discovery bullshit as “work”.
Demi Lovato will be "she/her" on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, "they/them" on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and "ze/zim" on weekends and holidays.
Hi....I am a middle aged gay man.I am not the typical gay person I'm a Republican I think that this trans and all the new sexual identities is a crazy mixed up mess.I agree with everything that I have heard you say.Watch everything new episode...you were raised right and your parents did an amazing job. You give me hope that there is some smart and logical thinking young adults.
i now go by as a firetruck, my pronouns are wee/woo
Growing up, she had the best voice on Disney channel. It’s sad cos I’m someone tried on half of the LGBTQ-AEIOU(and sometimes Y) labels when I was a teenager, but you have to let everyone make their own mistakes and learn in their own time.
Every time I'm failing in life I'm going to chalk it up to being "fluid".
What is up with the whole fluid thing 😂 doesn’t make sense.
@@ajjbh6750 It's pure bs, that's all it really is.
jajajaja lol
I’m so tired of her and her issues. People need therapy, not amplification and validation of dysfunction.
When Demi talks about this "man/woman" energy and being in balance, sounds like she is talking about hormones.
Or Personality
I have over 1000 clinical hours interning at a mental health facility. Listening to Demi Lovato talk about herself is literally like listening to a crazy person.
So are they crazy or mentally ill? I was admitted to a mental hospital as a teenager for a suicide attempt. I wasn’t crazy, just wanted to die. Gotta say, there were interns there too who treated us, me included, like garbage. Talked about us behind our backs and looked at us like we were going to blow the building up or something.
Point is, if you’re going about referring to people who are sick as “crazy”, look for another profession, because you will not make a good doctor.
@@ascendednightingale2456 Crazy is an informal term. Trying to kill yourself is crazy, any way you cut it. So, yes, you were crazy. I don't care if you're offended, that's the situation.
@@jupiterrising887 Look out. They are trying to take the word "crazy" away, too.
@@jupiterrising887 Yep, try another job, lady. You’re a bit of a bitch. I don’t care if you’re offended, that’s the situation. You’re not going to help anyone. 👎
@@jupiterrising887 What a sad, broken world we live in where mentally ill people are looked down on by nurses and doctors. I feel really sorry for the patients you may encounter. Hopefully you quit or are fired before you damage more people. There’s a fine line between not being politically correct and being an asshole. You’ve crossed it, sweetheart.
Actually thought at 10:22 she was going to segue into an add for chopped meats after talking about kids chopping up their bodies.
As soon as someone tells me they have 'special' pronouns that don't reflect reality, my respect for that person plummets...
The desperate search and need to be "special" is real
