those girls were pure evil omg the thing they did with the list was worth them being expelled. I guess it went unnoticed because there wasn't much awaresness on bullying at the time and on how damaging it can be at such a young age.
Why do i rewatch this every once in a while with out getting enough of it. Edit: 2 years later rewatching over and over and over again. P.S.: wow thanks for the likes
I love that she isn’t afraid to put herself out there. That’s part of what makes her better than the best in my opinion. Not even her weaknesses hold her down before she makes a comeback. She is really inspiring. Thank you for sharing!
I saw this documentary and thought the sign was going to pop up and ask me if I wanted to buy UA-cam Premium....Thank you, thank you for making this available to all of us! It is courageous of Demi Lovato to show us this private side of her life and her experiences. Edit time- I had to edit because WOW! Demi is a new woman and we're so privileged to be a part of this journey. You look so unbelievably confident and comfortable in your skin.
Honestly Demi Lovato was the first artist that I found when I was a teenager who showed that she was human and had mental health issues. When they leaked photos of her cutting and then she wrote skyscraper after getting out of the mental hospital that changed my life and let me know that I wasn't alone and that people can have issues and still be successful and/or famous. It meant alot to me to see that she had some of the same issues as me and was still a badass amazing artist.
Paula 0000 how old is this documentary ? She has the money to literally change her behavior, whether having a hobby, and try to find something get your mind off drugs, shes privileged unlike many drug addicts in the us
Is it just me or did anyone else feel as though they should give Demi a hug after watching this. She’s had it real hard, literally felt her pain. Cried throughout this video
I heard she overdosed today on social media and I felt the need to watch this documentary to understand her story behind everything , she’s so strong and she’s been through so much, I truly hope she gets better and have that same strength
Keep in mind that all of this was filmed and produced before the overdose. Which ultimately means she relapsed. Please check on your friends no matter how “great” they seem on the exterior.
but you know, relapse IS part of the recovery. even when you are surrounded by the right people (which wasn't demi's case, that's true), if you relapse it doesn't necessarily mean everything was a fail or that everything is going wrong ♥
@@apolline9910 you know? i was in rehab before, when i have 18. And now i stay here in a bad possition again...and maybe it's something i have to do for understend many other's things. Maybe i have to relapse again to learn a lesson again. Maybe all of us have to fall to learn.
Man. She's got so much to be grateful for that so many people would want to trade places with her considering her early success, talent, wealth, fame, recognition...etc
The scariest part is ONE relapse can kill you. I'm not an addict. I'm a daughter, sister, cousin, and wife to addicts. We've seen several overdoses and deaths, and its so hard to see it all happening, and be completely fucking helpless to stop it. Sending love and hugs to everyone who struggles with this disease, and/or loves someone who does 💜
Lilly Cali The thing is that people don’t realize that celebrities are human and deal with the same problems as those who aren’t in the limelight. And sometimes the attention that comes with being in the limelight can exacerbate any issues they have. Just look at how Disney handled her
I can't help at noticing that she wanted to be like Amy Winehouse, and seeing Amy's documentary you see how Demi could've ended up like her if it wasn't for all the support she had and Amy didn't. It shows how important it is to know what people you choose to be surrounded by, they have to have ethics and they have to love you and believe in you. I'm so happy for Demi, never stop trying
Melani Rodriguez wow, Melani. That's such a good observeration....Amy was also beautiful and talented and the same age as Demi when she also got into drugs in a serious way. And yet her story ended so differently and it sucks. :( I totally didn't realize that their lives have such similarities but different endings.
Melani Rodriguez I see what you’re saying and I mostly agree but my brother struggles with alcohol and drug problems too. He has ALL the support from all of his family and friends, that hasn’t been enough for him to sober up. So I give a lot of credit to Demi’s strength and will - that is the key. You can’t help anyone if they don’t want to help themselves, unfortunately... 😊
I think this girl is so underrated. Demi is such a talented & real person. I love not just her voice but her actual self, she has admitted when she was wrong she has made mistakes & learnt some hard lessons over the years but I think she is just an overall genuinely lovely girl. ♡
@@jenjenlouisexx7811 boo hoo. A pretty, talented singer with millions of dollars had a coke problem. Sounds like a broken record. She dateted a guy 12 years older than her. Her fater was shit, but atleast she had a stepfather that loves her. I really want too know why people feel so bad for her.
i thought brave was running into a burning building to pull ppl to safety with out fanfare was brave and heroic, but i guess im wrong, its a girl whining about girl things
Anyone else coming back to watch this the day of her being hospitalized from a heroine overdose? Hope you get better demi, we love you so much! Stay strong, and I hope you get sober again! ❤️
Victoria Nash through out the video she want people to think she’s a bad bitch she’s always saying don’t fuck with me , etc I tell you stuff how they are. But inside she’s weak. And insecure.
Perfectionism is something I can relate to. If I had any singing talent like she does I’d be the same way… Do it over and over again until it was perfect. Unfortunately, people like us are at risk for drug addiction to find relief to not care so much and relax. Huge props to Demi.
I sing and have sang publicly and literally had people confused because I hit a note wrong and I walked off the stage lol and people were like "why did you get off the stage that was amazing???" So yep I dont even know how she does concerts.
The fact that she almost died a year after this it’s crazy😢 I always praying for her to be ok, after Liam Payne’s passing is important to be more aware of celebrities who openly struggle with mental illness and adictions. Please be kind always.✨✨
i watched her on disney not knowing any of this was going on and now i see the reality, it breaks my heart. i came back again to see this. she's so strong and i could never.
I remember reading a teen mag when I was young and she had cuts on her wrists and they said it was from her bracelets and that's when I started to realize demi was dealing with bad issues.
theokay lamp I remember that magazine too!! It had like a headline like “is Demi cutting” and then the more you read it it said that she was just wearing tight bracelets all the time and that’s what was causing them
@@tycobb2580 if you look into it it's obvious that she in fact was sober during the time this came out and kinda fell off around her 6th year anniversary, either before or after, april at the latest. this documentary was the year before that.
I hope she gets over her demons, or learns to live with them without them taking over. It looks like she's a great person, and she still has a lot to give to this world. This goes to all addicts, it's not easy, but I'm sure it can be done.
Gio Flores :relapsing is apart of recovery. You don’t just automatically recover without relapsing. Recovering from addiction isn’t easy. Plus she was 6 years sober before she relapsed. So Demi was in still recovery back when she had a relapse.
i would recommend watching her more recent doc "dancing with the devil". it's a more accurate representation of what she was going through during this time
Princess Emerald :because fame isn’t all that it’s cut out to be and a lot of childhood actors from the past suffer from depression and never tell anyone like Lee Thompson Young in real life outside of acting suffered from Depression&Bi polar Disorder just like Demi does except for he was on medication for it and then one day he just eventually gave up trying to live and killed himself Demi is lucky enough to survive this long being bi polar and depressed and not resort to giving up and she just keeps fighting she’s also lucky enough to talk about her struggles honestly and be open about them completely and not keep it a secret for a good portion of her life.
Ronny S She's talking about Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga made a business deal with Netflix so she could make money off of her documentary. When fans tried to post videos of it and share it, she took the videos down and had their account flagged. Yet Demi released her documentary for free with no desire to make money off of it. It just goes to show how she actually cares about her fans and wants to help them. She's so kind and genuine and doesn't care about the money.
I hope Demi knows how much of an impact she has sharing her story with the world. A world filled with millions who are or have struggled with the same addictions and demons. For us, to hear someone of such fame who has access to almost whatever in life imaginable.. it makes us feel less alone, less of a minace to society, and unserstood more with such a big voice speaking out to the world.
It’s crazy that all these 2000’s era Disney actors and actresses were put through all of this at such a young age. It’s mind boggling that 14 year olds had to deal with all of this stuff publicly. I’m glad that all of these stars have gotten help and become the awesome people they are today.
Lovatic Hiddlestoner Yeah, the really sad thing that I believe is that had she been just a few years older and had worked for the company at a time where it wasn’t all about teenyboppers I don’t think it would have escalated as far as it did. She still would have struggled naturally with her background but had she been working for the company just a few years prior I don’t think it would have escalated as far.
Ok, I started this at 1:17 am as I sat with my d.o.c in hand, not aware of what this documentary on Demi was about. By the end of it, I threw my doc out an flushed it down. I suffer bi-polar and social anxiety. I suffer with addiction and codependancy issues. I felt like she was almost telling MY story. Inspiring and empowering. Thank you for sharing this with the world . And with me.
I am speechless. She’s been through the trenches of life. Then struggled to get sober, to fix her life. The amount of dedication we witness from her story is INSANE. It’s incredible ..oh my god. This makes me even more of a fan.
Demi...I've been on this earth for over 60 years now. I've seen things beyond explanation. You're story has moved me. I believe in you. We fall, but we get back up stronger. Your best days are still ahead. Such a beautiful soul. I see you!
Don't your briefing ont only years but pounding HEART SEARCHING FOR EVEN PERFECT FLOW. GOD LET US DECIDE. I LOVE YOU DEMI. THERE IS 1000000 DIFFIRANT ?? NEEDS. LOVE IS FATE
Me too and every. Single. Time. I cry so hard. Especially the Wilmer and Demi situation considering the fact that I’m in the same situation she was in.
In her documentary "Loneliness is brutal", in her song lonely "now I'm f*cking lonely", in her song sober " it's only when I'm lonely, just hold me I'm lonely". ( the signs were there.)
My math teacher during my junior year in highschool once told the class, "you can't get help unless you want to help yourself first. Otherwise you'll always be stuck where you're at." So if she's getting sober for everyone else, not herself, it explains why she keeps relapsing. She's just not ready to get sober for herself.
It’s so crazy how someone who I idolized when I was a kid was going through so much.. how I thought her life was perfect but like they say everyone has their own struggles, I still love you Demi and that won’t ever change
Sofia Murillo same! I actually saw Demi along with the Jonas Brothers on the Camp Rock tour when I was in 2nd grade. I remember when it was announced that Demi was getting professional help and even then I didn’t really understand since I was so young. I still love Demi Lovato to this day, but it’s just so weird how I viewed her as this perfect being back in her Disney days who I desperately wanted to be like
Seeing them mention her sleeping and the angle of her being so close and saying it was love at first sight when she was 17 with Wilmur in the context of dancing with the devil is unnerving
I think she might think Demi did die...? some people hear the word overdose and think death, because they don't know you can survive an overdose... 🤷🏻♀️
Em & Em I know she's not dead as a MAJOUR lovatic I know all her appearances and photos she's taken since her overdose. I just miss the interviews, songs, her live performances, and her humour.
when documentaries about celebrities and their addictions comes out it’s usually after their death and to live to tell your story is such an inspiration..God bless you Demi and continue to bless to be an inspiration to me!!!
Geeta Asamoah :it’s probably because they started Demi’s story while she’s alive to tell it since she is getting help and has been getting help for a long time.
Shoutout to Demi and her team for puting this on youtube and not on netflix, youtube red or apple music, it shows that what she really wanted was for people to see what she went through rather than a pay check.
I’m not a Demi Lovato fan, but this documentary made me realize that she’s one of the few artists that are truly honest about their past and admitting to it. I’m happy that she is recovering and still is. She has earned my respect.
I think this documentary taught me that I can love myself again, despite the struggles I've faced. And nothing has ever made me feel like this. So thank you so so much for being raw and personal. I really needed this.
As a person who suffers from Bipolar and trauma, this was touching. Never resonated or empathized with a documentary this deeply in a while. Listened to a few of her songs growing up in school but never understood her background. Very brave soul.
@@dahyuncutest8041 True, but maybe @lizcoffey meant to say that that girl changed her mind, people grow up its a part of life, maybe she grew up and changed her mind perhaps, but then again of not you're right she probably is crying 😂😂
As someone who has also struggled with an eating disorder, I truly hope Demi concurs her demons. I've never felt so connected to her until learning so much about her. She's always had such a beautiful voice to me, but now I can see her soul is just as beautiful. Thanks for sharing your story, Demi! xx
You people are retarded to care about the opinions or experience of this person. She is just like any other person. You think she's any different? She's a narcissistic character and we idolize her because...we are an ugly society...LIKE YOUR FACE. Also, can you not use the English language? Conquer. Not concur. Concur means to agree.

Finally watched this in 2020 and it makes me sad to have the knowledge of her overdose and relapse with drugs/alcohol shortly after all of this. She looked like she was happy and doing well. Just goes to show how much of a never ending journey mental health is. Love you and wish you the best, Demi 💕
Unfortunately, her team ended up making her eating disorder worse by controlling her food. And she said in an interview that she would work out for hours and hours a day. :( Like she wasn't allowed to have a cake, she would get watermelon for her birthday. But luckily she has a new team that seems to be doing better, especially now she's engaged!
@@TheFriendlyFlower yes i saw that interview with Ellen. Such a terrible move by her team! So glad she's free of them and in a better place in her happiness right now.

Have kids completely lost their attention span from viral vids that they can't even go to a movie theater any more? Is 2hrs is just too much to ask unless it is your idol on the screen?

Allison schild I'm so proud of you babe! Never go back to that old habit, I'm 3 years sober from cocaine, xanax, marijuana, molly, and alcohol. It's hard, but it's all worth it in the end. #StayStrong
Scissors :she’ll be sharing more sometime this year too since they are doing a sequel to simply complicated since the first one was successful enough to get a sequel and clearly there’s parts the first one leaves out. The sequel is in production it’s just put on hold until Demi is fully ready to do the sequel. Because the sequel being put back into production is up to Demi and when Demi is fully ready to do the sequel but there’s more simply complicated coming. So she’ll talk more about her struggles honestly like she did in the first one since the sequel will clearly show stuff the first one didn’t.
Darragh Collins :because she was working on the sequel before her current overdose happened. Google it. This has been known for a slightly longer time now since this documentary was successful enough for them to continue it
I like Oak as a producer so much more than that first dude. That “in a perfect world” comment was annoying, as if he was doubting her skills; and she had to answer back about how it’s her album and it should be perfect. And then Oak is just over here gushing over and appreciating every take she does
I have never connected to a celebrity more than to her. I appreciate her openness, vulnerability and raw emotions. As someone who has suffered with depression and anxiety for 10 years, I can’t be more thankful to Demi for being such a role model. The struggle is real...
How could anyone not like this beautiful real women she is so fucking REAL, Not like those fake actor, singer women out their that would sell their soul for attention and fame. Is sad that this type of people don't get credited or awards for there work because Hollywood is all about body image ..I believe it fuck with young girls head. I seen other girl that cant sing but get all kinds of awards.., She deserves the best love her for coming out hope to help young litter girls we need her... LOVE DEMI

What a strong, beautiful, woman. I will always look up to Demi Lovato, she has made me want to recover and be better. This was so wonderful
You are such an incredible person to be vulnerable in telling your story . I'm so proud of you . My youngest daughter is 11 and going through a little of what you went through, having no friends and she gets social anxiety and feels like she is a burden to other kids so she doesn't want to interrupt anyone. I constantly tell her she is so smart and beautiful and try to get her to talk to other kids but she's very shy . I didn't know if you have any advice to help me show her how amazing she is . I think that her biggest issue is no relationship with her father. After 8 yrs he decided that he doesn't have a bond with her . So he doesn't want to see her . It breaks my heart ❤
She really should not see him ever again !!! Not even insist her !!! She doesn’t need negativity and if she wants to be alone she should be alone ^^ recomendation is love her as she is !! No need to change her … and get therapy as mother and for her too ^^

Why in the hell would anyone dislike this raw and honest documentary? People are so backwards

I hope she gets over her demons, or learns to live with them without them taking over. It looks like she's a great person, and she still has a lot to give to this world. This goes to all addicts, it's not easy, but I'm sure it can be done.

Recovery isn't linear. Relapse happens but in the end it's a part of her journey. I have no doubt that she'll get back up again.
twilightsagasuperfan i read demons as lemons lol
Gio Flores :relapsing is apart of recovery. You don’t just automatically recover without relapsing. Recovering from addiction isn’t easy. Plus she was 6 years sober before she relapsed. So Demi was in still recovery back when she had a relapse.
"A good heart sometimes isn't enough." Well said.
you gotta deal with those demons before they deal with you.

Because the sequel being put back into production is up to Demi and when Demi is fully ready to do the sequel but there’s more simply complicated coming. So she’ll talk more about her struggles honestly like she did in the first one since the sequel will clearly show stuff the first one didn’t.

Is sad that this type of people don't get credited or awards for there work because Hollywood is all about body image ..I believe it fuck with young girls head. I seen other girl that cant sing but get all kinds of awards.., She deserves the best love her for coming out hope to help young litter girls we need her... LOVE DEMI
AM BR I agree with you
how is she an inspiration?
conformist literally the whole documentary?
I cried almost the entire documentary, I was so in love with Demi Lovato when I was young and had somewhat an idea she was struggling but I had no fucking idea it was this bad.
I'm sad to hear that. All I have to say is stay strong and hopefully things get better for her a few years down the line
She really should not see him ever again !!! Not even insist her !!! She doesn’t need negativity and if she wants to be alone she should be alone ^^ recomendation is love her as she is !! No need to change her … and get therapy as mother and for her too ^^
