I remember the worst pool me and my father have cleaned together was this pool abandoned for about 30 years. Not only did it develop algae like this pool, it had turtles, snakes, frogs, etc all living inside of it
I have gone from watching rugs getting cleaned to watching dog and cat ears getting cleaned to watching this. Not that I'm complaing though 🤷♂️ this is super satisfying
Wow this is an advanced level lmao. Still got stuck to the nails, ears and pimples lol. I just watched this and I found it satisfying and actually wanted more like it then I saw your comment haha
Yup. That last one, about keeping water on the pool. People tend to forget that you need water on the pool to protect it from harsh weather. The bottom usually covered with ceramic tiles, and they can go scalding hot or ice cold depending on the weather. Water on the other hand usually don't go below -4°C in winter, and even in the middle of summer it will never go too high because of its heat capacity, therefore preventing cracks on the bottom of the pool from extreme heat or bitting cold.
@@jessicaaugustine4333 because it's an expensive process that doesn't worth it. Cleaning the pool is standard, even if it is very dirty it is possible to bring the water to a healthy level. Except in those cases where the pools had been years without cleaning so there was too much dirt and debris.
This is a late comment, but if you take a tennis ball, stab a hole in it, and sink it in the skimmer basket, it'll help collect that hair when the pool runs
My brother had to scoop buckets of sludge from his pool after buying the house. Required a combination of these things. Gross process. His garden smelled awful.
@@BondJFKOutdated, but not super old. Unkempt and needed renovation from a roof leak. Bank foreclosure in Florida. Slime happens and being empty for a good chunk of time, the clean up took a lot.
The string type algae is really the worst. In the aquarium community we call it the "hair algae" and it absolutely destroys your fish tank's ecosystem as it blankets all over the substrate and plants. The best part, no fish won't eat it except a few species. Hair alage is a fishkeeper's worst nightmare.
Not that these clueless homeowners would, but, if they take a steel garden rake and spread it out in a pretty thin layer over the lawn it would disintegrate in a few weeks. More than likely giving you a healthier yard. (In that spot at least).
most suburban areas have organic waste disposal services (my neighborhood has one during the spring and summer), basically when you put piles of dirt/tree branches/weeds (just stuff you pull up from gardening) in a certain spot, usually pretty close to the end of your driveway, some people will come by and pick it up. It's a city service thing but is a lot more common in middle-class suburban areas.
Refilling pool requires draining the water and refilling with lots of water. Depending on water scarcity of the local environment it could be expensive.
Our boy Miles showing us his skills!! I hope you all have subscribed to his channel. He does have more to show. The hot tubs for one were proper minging. There were slugs, and they were having a party when Miles lifted up the cover. 😱😱😱😱
Yeah, the stank is REAL!! Started skateboarding in the mid 80s ,we would hunt out and skate any concrete pools we could find ,unless they were brand new, 75% needed part emptying and cleaning first. Every town has a skate park now, kids dont do that stuff anymore.
I've always wondered why people let their pools fall apart like this. I'm sure there are many reasons, but yikes, it sure would take a certain mentality and skill set to clean them. Some if these pools have stunning tile work...love this channel!
Pools can be a lot of maintenance. I don’t think this speaks that much about how hygienic they are, they probably just let it go for a little too long and then didn’t know what to do with it so it kept getting worse and worse until it turned into this monstrosity.

We have a nature pool. We have a dedicated area with plants that clean the pool. Sometimes we add some harmless bacteria that kills algae
And add some sucker fish or some fish, it will eat the algae
