It's stupendous. This, watchbox & theWatches.tv are my go-to watch channels. I hear people talking about others but most don't float my boat. Perhaps "talking watches" on hodinkee. The highest production values of any of the channels are to be found here and Watchfinder & Co is the best when you're actually thinking of buying the watch in question.
Best looking Panerai I've ever seen. Looks straight out of BioShock. Bronze and rose gold give off two of my favorite colors. That deep goldish-brown is unparalleled.
Brilliant quality content. Amazing watches and unparalleled commentary. You can immediately tell how much work is put onto these videos as opposed to other creators. That's why you're easily the best horology channel on UA-cam. Thanks!
Every single fucking video you guys have put out is a fucking piece of art in every sense. The narration, the pieces of information you provide to viewers, the shots you show, and the shots you don't; are all absolutely perfect. Truly a brilliant job. Thank you.
Charles Feraci i am pretty sure that if i just say, 'everything on point', instead of 'has everything on point', it is still correct, given the figure of speech directed as a casual appreciation rather than this being a forum being coordinated by the Oxford university and comments being graded and judged on someones caliber in the subject of literature and/or English language. Funny thing is I have more free time than you do, considering I typed all of this, Goodnight or goodday to you.
I think the most appealing part of bronze is that reaction and uniqueness offered by bronze. It has a deep sea and very old feeling, something of discovery and exploration. Steel on the other hand is so utilitarian and without character. I'm fairly new to watches overall, but bronze is now up there with what I want
I'm in love with the Tudor. It haunts my dreams. A jeweller near where I live had it in the shop window for a while. One day I went in, and though I made clear I didn't have the funds to buy it, or anything else in the shop for that manner, they kindly let me try it on. A few weeks later it was sold. I'm sure the buyer is a happy man, with impeccable taste.
I love the cinematography, the poetry of the presentation, the subtle, understated humour and the original, absolutely first-class content. In every single video I learn something new, while feeling in the company of a true gentleman.
Haha, I loved the pickle jar speculation! Again, a very well conceptualized, thoroughly investigated and almost poetically worded video! Thank you so much! It's a pleasure watching your broadcasts!
Hands down, the best quality YT review on the web! Your video made me love the bronze rustic nostalgia era again. If I had to design a weather proof case, I would use solid grade 5 Titanium.
i got the 2019 version and cant stop looking at it, the 3 6 9 to the 43mm size just look perfect, its the little things that dont get a mention, like the quality of the hands and how they show reflections as good as the sapphire crystal, and its so nice having no date ruin the dial!
That's an odd question to ask. "What material would you use and why?" Stainless steel, of course. Just like every other manufacturer on the planet. Better strength, comparable corrosion resistance, vastly superior fatigue strength, less weight. Arguably poorer aesthetics, but if you're talking about a tool, perhaps that is the area that can be relaxed. And if you want better aesthetics, there are better options than bronze.
If you like that Bronze Panerai but not the price, look at the "San Martin 382 Series." Same bronze case shape, crown guard and rotating dive bezel. AR Sapphire Crystal. C3 Superluminova that glows bright and stays legible all night. Green, Blue or Black dial choices. Super soft leather strap w/ bronze buckle. Same 300 meter water resistance as the Panerai. Steel caseback so no green wrist. HK PT5000 or Swiss SW200 automatic movement depending on how much you want to pay. Keeps accurate time within +-5 seconds per day. I've bought one over a year ago for $360 shipped and LOVE IT.
I used to think why the watches are incredibly overpriced. But now I started realizing the value of those great watches. You videos are very informative. Thanks.
I own the bronze Tudor BB and it doesn’t react like most other bronze cases. Mainly because of the aluminum in it. It’s much more subtle in its patina. I have seen some go more gray in color after a year of use and others that have very little discoloring after a year of wear. I’ve only had mine for a couple of months so it’s hard to tell yet what it will end up looking like color wise but I’ve never seen any greenish color on one. The acidity in one’s skin and the environment has everything to do with it.
Great video as always, but a shame the more modestly priced Oris Carl Brashear was not shown especially as it looks better than most bronze watches. I prefer a bronze bezel rather than the aluminium used on the Tudor, as it adds greatly to the patina and overall impression. Overall I have found comments to bronze watches to be be marmite, rather than indifferent.
Awesome channel, getting better and better - how about a video of the new Cartier Tank Americaine vs previous pre owned versions? Or the Seiko Baby Snowflake? Or Archimede Pilots etc for something more affordable
I have a 2 part question: 1) is the patina from the bronze considered toxic, and if so would it be wise to polish off the patina even though the patina gives it that particular look? 2) would 3rd party watch repair shops turn down repairing a patina rust watch u less it were fully cleaned? I have this particular problem with rusted bike pieces and shopkeepers won't touch rusted parts. For anyone interested in a cheaper bronze watch, Christopher ward offers one for $910 USD.
That IWC is gorgeous, but the Panerai is just awesome. I never liked any Panerai watches, because most were conventional steel etc. But bronze just suits it. It’s almost a steampunk design by accident.
After fifty years at sea as a Marine Engineer, I do now the value of bronze in an aggressive medium like salt water. However bronze still needs cathodic protection in the form of zinc blocks in the water flow, in order to protect the bronze fittings. Far more practical is cupronickel, the same material that "silver" coins are made of. This was realised years ago by Roamer who used it to case pocket watches, generally called "German Silver". However, the "luvvies" who sport bronze cased wrist watches apart from getting a green ring mark on their watch wrist are like a lot of "watch people" are all about appearance, not practicality.
because unfortunately there are only a few people compared to the population that loves watches. I can't afford something like a Rolex so I collect brands like Seiko, Invicta, etc..
You put every other watch site to shame. This is beyond amazing, such high quality. I feel a sense of care when watching this, hard to describe. Thank you and please continue this, I will hopefully make my next purchase from Watchfinder because of you :-)
I stand patiently waiting for the arrival of my Zelos Helmsman 2 Bronze diver. Thanks for putting together such an informative video on bronze dive watches. That bronze Panerai simply looks stunning!
Well, bronze does great against corrosion for sure. The much older bronze weapons can still be found, while the newer iron and steel ones can be found only if they have been preserved luckily. A 300 year old steel sword in the ground could have already disappeared completely. However, they only had carbon steel back then, I would be curious how long stainless steel would last.
I love your videos! I'm a huge watch enthusiast and its one of my passions in life. When I look at your videos I always learn something new not only about the watch being presented, but also history. I would love you to review the Tudor Pelagos black bezel with in-house movement.
I love my Navy Blue Black Bay 58. I managed to order this version from a boutique. When it arrived, I could not warm up to it (I tried). You need to wear mostly earth-tone clothing. It was never going to work with my blue shirts (in the videos, it's hard to understand this). Many photos make it look dark, like it would go with a wider variety of clothing. In person (in most daylight), the bezel looks like a beautiful copper, and the chocolate brown on the dial dominates it. I even tried my shirts that are camouflage green. The combination did not pop for me. I dumped this watch quickly within a day (at a significant loss). DO NOT ORDER IT ONLINE WITHOUT TRYING IT ON FIRST. It's not the bronze metal that is the problem. It's the copper/chocolate combination on the bezel and dial. More than any other Black Bay, try this on before buying.
If we're being realistic about toughness, probably some hardened synthethic rubber like a gshock, if we're talking luxury a layer of titanium covered by a layer of white gold covered by a layer of sapphire covered by a layer of platinum covered by a layer of pure 24k yellow gold.
Bronze is beautiful and stains nicely, but it's nowhere as hard as even the softest steels. It also reacts differently with different people's sweat. I remember my grandparents having bronze knobs on their furniture, the ones used by my grandmother had a slight patina, those used by grandfather were rough and green. The watch I'm wearing right now is my favorite so I've been wearing it for the past two years. It's pretty dented and scratched from everyday wear, I also put considerable effort periodically to clean it from sweat and epidermis residue. Were this a bronze watch, I'm afraid it would show many blemishes, heavy patina and emit a strong smell that I like but not everyone does.
Even though they would not show the unique corrosion patterns, the 904L stainless steel would provide a much more resistance to corrosion and would be preferable than bronze in dive watch manufacturing. As you know the Submariner and Seamaster have them.
Have purchased an inexpensive bronze watch to try out if I will like it before diving into getting the Tudor...... I must really say it is really different in term of look & feel..... I'm already liking it a lot even just mere 2nd day of wearing it. Bronze really pop with the distressed brown leather strap. Awesome detail bronze watches review.
I love the way bronze looks, but I hate the way it smells, and the smell transfers. I have a sword with bronze details on the hilt, and it transfers to the hands. How are these watches in that aspect? Do they smell like bronze, or have they been treated somehow against smelling?
I love the presentation of your videos. It's all so perfectly balanced ..the voice.. the colours in the video .. so soothing while being so engaging. How about titanium ? Hard , light .. and can be polished really well too . ? there really isn't any video on Titanium watches
I've become so fascinated by bronze watches that I recently bought two! I was originally looking at the Tudor Heritage Black Bay Bronze you showed in the video it's nice, but I found the brown dial on bronze a bit dull and monotone. I came across the Tudor BB Bucherer Special Anniversary Edition 43mm blue dial version of this watch (the BBBB) and was completely blown away. The beautiful blue dial just pops right out at you. It is hard to get hold of as it was only available in their shops in Switzerland and Germany, but I finally got mine in December from a re-seller. It cost me an arm and a leg but it's a real stunner and I just had to have it. The combination of the blue dial and bronze is jaw-dropping and the bronze is already taking on a unique patina. I also got myself the Oris Carl Brashear Limited Edition. It is also not easy to come by but cost me a lot less. This is also a fine example of blue dial on bronze and I love it. Both watches have an 'old world' appeal to them and they are real conversation pieces. One thing you forgot to mention in your excellent video is that should the patina start to bother you, this can easily be cleaned to it's (near) original state and you can start the process all over again. Bronze watches are 'ever changing' and wonderful.
From experience i can say that the Oris Carl Basshear is also as good looking. With its size of 40/41 mm its better for the more moderate wrist. But the Tudor, Iwc and Panerai are stunning aswell. Thank you for another great video, i listen and learn.
Excellent vid, thank you! Considering cost v's design v's quality then I think the Tudor is the watch, being that bit bigger than a normal Black Bay is also a further plus point. Very hard to source thou, all are reserved well in advance of coming in to the shops.
I received a Lüm-tec B19 in bronze for Christmas, and while the three watches shown in the video puts it to shame everything said about bronze holds true despite the price gap. I never considered a bronze watch until I received one and now I can't stop myself from wanting more.
Hello Mr Talking Hands, what is your opinion on the potential galvanic corrosion that could happen when two dissimilar metals are in contact with each other e.g. a bronze case and an aluminium bezel insert?
I HATE the look of Panerai watches, however this one is the only exception I've seen. Somehow that tarnished bronze actually makes the design look right. It gives off a very authentic looking 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea type vibe! Very cool.
For a dive watch I would choose Titanium obviously :) Almost as corrosion resistant as gold. Lighter, yet also stronger than steel. With the right surface treatment it can be harder than the steels you'll find in other dive watches as well. The "weird" grey of Titanium isn't as pretty as that of steel, but it has an industrial kind of look to it with (IMO) its own charm.
We know you want more watches…. click here: linktr.ee/watchfinder
Now I want a bronze watch.
A Random Guy me too!!
I want the BR 03 diver Bronze edition!!
If you're relatively poor like me, there are quite a lot of cheaper manufacturers that make bronze watches. I might get one at some point.
hahaha me too!
hahaha
that's it! this is officially my favourite horology channel.
hamza shah SAME!!
Thank you, glad you're enjoying!

Oozywolf IT IS SO MUCH LIKE BIOSHOCK OMG ITS LIKE A BIG DADDY WATCH AHA
Funny you say that... instagram.com/p/BcfKjQ6F_pn/
YaKoStar That's absolutely awesome lmao. Would you kindly let me borrow that watch forever?? 😂😍
Yeah best looking, but like most Panerai just too big unless you like wearing an alarm clock on your wrist...
Check out the San Martin 382 Series. A faithful homage to that Panerai 382.
Brilliant quality content. Amazing watches and unparalleled commentary. You can immediately tell how much work is put onto these videos as opposed to other creators. That's why you're easily the best horology channel on UA-cam.
Thanks!
That's very kind, thank you.
+1
What an awesome bronze Black Bay!
Absolutely love my Tudor BB58 Bronze it has a character and warmth you simply don’t get with a stainless steel watch.
Every single fucking video you guys have put out is a fucking piece of art in every sense. The narration, the pieces of information you provide to viewers, the shots you show, and the shots you don't; are all absolutely perfect. Truly a brilliant job. Thank you.
Thank you, much appreciated!
The cinematography, the lighting, the transition, content, presentation, etc., everything on point!

Great video channel I agree. Shame their website and trade in deals are way off point.

Please make a video like this one about titanium
We'll definitely do something like this in the future. Thanks for watching!
you're the best you know that???
Thank you, we certainly try to be!
TheYungKingz o
Yess indeed you r the best
TheYungKingz
That’s a rhetorical question isn’t it? lol
Ret on the der vato Sal !
Saw this Tudor yesterday. It looks even better in real life. Trust me.
It's just stunning and sophisticated at the same time.
That Tudor Heritage Black Bay is just incredible, hands down the best i've ever seen.
The panerai looks stunning
The only word for this entire video is stunning.
He does not look, he's so ridiculous, I bought one!
Does the tudor bronze patina differently than Panerai?
Yes, I watched the video couple of months ago.
And of course I bought the bronze tudor. It is just beautiful.
Now I came back to say thanks.
I love the cinematography, the poetry of the presentation, the subtle, understated humour and the original, absolutely first-class content. In every single video I learn something new, while feeling in the company of a true gentleman.
Very kind, thank you
I'm suddenly sold on a bronze watch.
Haha, I loved the pickle jar speculation! Again, a very well conceptualized, thoroughly investigated and almost poetically worded video! Thank you so much! It's a pleasure watching your broadcasts!
Thank you very much!
Didn’t know I wanted a bronze watch...until now. Fabulous
The Panerai Luminor would perfectly fit on Captain Nemos wrist! Beautiful steampunk watch!
You guys are the real deal on UA-cam. INformative and professional. Kudos.
Thanks very much.
Hands down, the best quality YT review on the web! Your video made me love the bronze rustic nostalgia era again. If I had to design a weather proof case, I would use solid grade 5 Titanium.
Thanks very much! Titanium is the marine king-expensive though!
It would be nice to have a crash course on the most famous in-house and market-popular mechanisms.
i got the 2019 version and cant stop looking at it, the 3 6 9 to the 43mm size just look perfect, its the little things that dont get a mention, like the quality of the hands and how they show reflections as good as the sapphire crystal, and its so nice having no date ruin the dial!

I love my Tudor Bronze! Just like you said it’s like wearing a different watch every time because of the oxidation. Awesome video!
those bronze watches are absolutely stunning. they look steampunk and nautical, very adventurous. the panerai is awesome and I love the tudor.
What is more corrosive titanium or bronze?
Titanium behaves in a similar way but without the visible patina.
I would have never thought about getting a bronze watch until now. Beautiful!
That bronze panerai is unreal. Looks amazing.
it's a fantastic material for a dive watch and has a sense of individuality that makes it exactly yours and its imperfection is just perfect
At this point I am almost certain that you can’t make a bad video.
Challenge ... accepted?
Carbotec looks wonderfull too, but never on fotos.
I love bronze divers. Perhaps the only better metal for a Diver is titanium as it is completely immune to corrosion. Nice work in the video!
Titanium is the daddy for sure. Thanks for watching!
Now I have a glycine combat sub in bronze with green dial. What a beauty for 430 dollars, not 25.000 like the Panerai....
Some bioshock vibes there, especially from Panerai. These watches are just amazing and quite unique
please do a review on Grand Seiko! much appreciated!
One of the best channel in terms of content and doing something unique with the UA-cam-format.
Thank you!

You guys deserve so many more subscribers than you currently have, serious quality going on around here I can tell you!
Hopefully we'll keep growing!

I have a 2 part question:
1) is the patina from the bronze considered toxic, and if so would it be wise to polish off the patina even though the patina gives it that particular look?

That IWC is gorgeous, but the Panerai is just awesome.
I never liked any Panerai watches, because most were conventional steel etc. But bronze just suits it. It’s almost a steampunk design by accident.
I have never found barnacles to be a problem on my watch.
How you dont have 5 million subscribers is beyond me.....
Tell all your friends to subscribe and hopefully we'll get there! Thanks for watching!
I told all 4 of them ;)
because unfortunately there are only a few people compared to the population that loves watches. I can't afford something like a Rolex so I collect brands like Seiko, Invicta, etc..
You put every other watch site to shame. This is beyond amazing, such high quality. I feel a sense of care when watching this, hard to describe. Thank you and please continue this, I will hopefully make my next purchase from Watchfinder because of you :-)
Thank you, much appreciated!
Never liked the Panerai's much but this one makes a lot of sense. Man those closeups are gourgeous.
Definitely feel that a bronze watch is a MUST for one’s watch collection. Great review.
Titanium is one of the least reactive metals, its an ideal match for sea diving. Said that, I love the character of a bronze watch...
Nickel is also good if you want something that age as it will develop natural patina. Watches, knives, metal yoyos, basically EDC stuff.
I stand patiently waiting for the arrival of my Zelos Helmsman 2 Bronze diver.
Thanks for putting together such an informative video on bronze dive watches. That bronze Panerai simply looks stunning!
Thanks for watching! Enjoy your new watch!

that panerai is astonishingly beautiful
Tudor Bronze is my first mechanical watch, it's just amazing
I love my Navy Blue Black Bay 58. I managed to order this version from a boutique. When it arrived, I could not warm up to it (I tried). You need to wear mostly earth-tone clothing. Panerai is definitively the best of the lot !
I've never wanted a Panerai more than this one, its stunning...

Awesome detail bronze watches review.
You shouldn’t use leather bands on a divers watch right?
Some leather has been treated for water resistance.
it looks so nice though!
I love the way bronze looks, but I hate the way it smells, and the smell transfers.
I have a sword with bronze details on the hilt, and it transfers to the hands.
How are these watches in that aspect? Do they smell like bronze, or have they been treated somehow against smelling?
i Adore that Tudor . it will be my next watch
Just got a baltic bronze with blue dial. Love it. It also didn't break the bank.
What about brass watches? The same pros/cons as bronze or there is a huge differences? Thank you.
TITANIUM, light, hard, corrosion-resist, anallergic, technical-grey cool looking.
The perfect material.
I love the presentation of your videos. It's all so perfectly balanced ..the voice.. the colours in the video .. so soothing while being so engaging.
How about titanium ? Hard , light .. and can be polished really well too . ? there really isn't any video on Titanium watches
Thanks very much! Titanium video is on the list
Thank you ! Looking forward to that video eagerly :)
This channel makes every watch so beautiful. What is it? The table? The hands?
Don't get vinegar on it!
.. you have to be careful with
Bronze. It can be polished back
but will verdigris with time.
I own the less pricey Christopher Ward Trident C60 Bronze. Beautiful timepiece. Great info; beautiful timepieces.
Don't normally like bronze watches but I'm convinced of the durability. That paneri is quite beautiful really. Thanks for sharing your video 🐱🙂
Have you done a episode about the Alpina watch? I thought about buying one and would love to learn more about it. Thanks
I've become so fascinated by bronze watches that I recently bought two!
I was originally looking at the Tudor Heritage Black Bay Bronze you showed in the video it's nice, but I found the brown dial on bronze a bit dull and monotone.

when the watch channel obliquely references "chicken strips" for motor bike tires, I subscribe. Well done.
Beautiful close-up shots! I had savored those very much! Also, the way you tell the story is extremely enjoyable.
Your videos are so well produced. Another good one. Thanks.
I just realised how smooth the movement is, I love this watch!
One of the best channels I've seen love the detail they go in. Please show more watches !!
From experience i can say that the Oris Carl Basshear is also as good looking. With its size of 40/41 mm its better for the more moderate wrist. But the Tudor, Iwc and Panerai are stunning aswell. Thank you for another great video, i listen and learn.
Beautiful masterpieces! Broze gives that Steampunk look and beautiful patina!
Excellent vid, thank you! Considering cost v's design v's quality then I think the Tudor is the watch, being that bit bigger than a normal Black Bay is also a further plus point. Very hard to source thou, all are reserved well in advance of coming in to the shops.
Thanks very much! If you're looking to purchase, we have a few available now: www.watchfinder.co.uk/Tudor/watches/all
I received a Lüm-tec B19 in bronze for Christmas, and while the three watches shown in the video puts it to shame everything said about bronze holds true despite the price gap. I never considered a bronze watch until I received one and now I can't stop myself from wanting more.
Lüm-tec make superb watches, enjoy it!

Best looking hands on UA-cam, hands down! 🙌🏼
Ha ha, thanks!
Really wonder how is the man look like...lol
ya totally agreed with u on the best looking hands on UA-cam.
I have one, it also comes with a beautiful fabric NATO strap with bronze hardware.
For a dive watch I would choose Titanium obviously :)
Almost as corrosion resistant as gold. Lighter, yet also stronger than steel. With the right surface treatment it can be harder than the steels you'll find in other dive watches as well. The "weird" grey of Titanium isn't as pretty as that of steel, but it has an industrial kind of look to it with (IMO) its own charm.
You are so inspired! Pleasure to watch and listen.
Brilliant analogies,informative content excellent delivery.
Wow that panerai is freaking amazing
