12:40 "I'm too old for this s**t" - sums up my feelings every time someone starts trying to explain nfts to me as well lol
Glad I’m not the only one. You own this non existent thing but it’s “worth” money. Nope lol
Immediate „bend-gate“
😂😂😂
My eyes: omg look at this marvel of engineering!
My brain: BEND IT.
Jerry Rig Watches
Lmao
If it was aluminum, still think it was absolutely idiotic for apple to use it
Not just on the basis of price, but after seeing all of the thinnest watches I'd prefer the Citizen EcoDrive 1. A very clean, traditional look. In addition, having an EcoDrive on a Citizen ProMaster, I find I like the movement and the whole idea of not having to replace a battery periodically.
"there is a tool, and I don't just mean the owner" xD my sides
Money aside, (obviously) I think the Piaget is the best looking, and possibly the most wearable of the bunch. The Bulgary is attractive because they built it on an actual bracelet, but the NFT nonsense spoils it. I'll never understand why they did that. Such an odd choice for this watch.
Just here to give that reassurance and feedback; I love this show and I’ve been following the channel for a couple years now! These podcast-like episodes have been a great addition!
Thoroughly fantastic content! Good on Citizen for the Eco-Drive One for costing less then the buckle on any of the others!! And brilliant the way you made a 20 minute video without a single in studio moment of watch video content without losing anything in the quality of the video. This may be your best video of this type to date! As a reward, each of you gets an RM ultra thin watch, a ski mask and black rubber gloves. You need to use the gloves and ski mask to acquire the watches, but once you get past that bit and avoid capture, you each have a $1.75 million dollar trinket to flog about with.
Bulgari: We shall make 10 super exclusive pieces.
RM: we shall make 150 pieces at several times the price of the Bulgari, but still call it super exclusive.
The RM looks horrid compared to the Piaget and Bulgari.
The Concord Delirium was 1.98 mm thick quartz in 1979. Gotta give credit where credit is due.
Citizen had some of the thinnest mechanical watches, too. Not only quartz watches. Citizen Diamond Flake was the thinnest watch with traditional 3 hands in the world in 1962. The movement was 2,7 mm, which sound thick compared to watches in this list, but remember, materials back then were not that advanced. Acrylic glass was thick, if they had sapphire, the watch would probably be thinner even. Not to speak about the rest of materials and additional seconds hand. That alone would eat up few millimeters from overall thickness. I think, to this day, Diamond Flake is the thinnest Japanese mechanical watch. They beat Seiko in that department, and a lot of Swiss Made watches, too.
The 1960 Piaget Caliber 12P was only 2,3 mm thick.
I have a dial out of that citizen. I wonder what I could put it in lol
I backed the CST-01 on kickstarter about 10 years ago. It was going to be a 0.8mm e-ink watch, shame it failed.
I have 3 of the Citizen Stiletto watches and can heartily recommend them to everyone. It is a great pity that they quickly moved on to less attractive iterations. They are thin enough without becoming too fragile for normal use.
Not only great engineering but some also great design. But if you include Quartz watches (wow, that Citizen is a beauty) would be fair to mention, that Bulgari has with Octo Finissimo the thinnest automatic wrist watch, which compared to these prices is quite affordable for approx. 15.000€ with a stunning design and ultra nice & comfortable bracelet also extra thin buckle.
Love this channel. The info is always fantastic and the commentary busts me up every time 😂
These are a wonder to behold but owning would not be for me.
If I were ever to get one of these ultra thins I'd do the thing I hate the most about watch collecting: keeping it in the box and never wearing it.
It depends on how much money you have left after purchasing one of these watches. We are imagining, right? So why not thinking to an arab prince with a almost infinite amount of money in his pocket? I mean several billions of U$. Would you still keep them in a box?
I can't wait to buy the Piaget and wear it on a thick double pass NATO strap 😅
I wasn't altogether sure about the addition of this format to the channel, but it's gems like this that may sway me yet! Keep it up guys! Really good episode this!
I loved the silliness of the banter, nearly as silly as the subject matter.
Loved the episode guys!
Great video! Thanks!
Love "The Citizen" and can't wait for their 0100 Calber to trickle down into more modern/sporty cases.
No mention of the Concord Delirium at 1.98mm thin back in 1979?
Your humor is very engaging. Good show.
Brought with humor, i’d enjoyed the duo review. With my thick Baumatic on my wrist it is amazing to see thin movements.
I do not know if you both did a video of the thickest bulky watches in industry? Omega Seamaster 6000m ultra deep, MB&F Mad, the buildings for the wrist.
'wowzer. What? I said wowzer. Oh' Classic.
I was waiting for the picture of the Seiko!
This was great! Enjoyed the comedy with it. “What is the thinnest Ferrari?” Lol😅
I like everyone of these except the Bulgari. Because they crammed in a NFT.
BTW NFT sales are down 90% as of now compared to 2020 and 2021 so yea bad Idea adding a NFT to such a great piece of human engineering.
idt nft here is for trading or something
Truly enjoyed this video. Do you have any on the Concord Delirium & Titan Edge watches?
love the podcast, great episode
These watches promote unhealthy case size stereotypes
You might be interested in checking out Concord next time you're looking at unusual watches. They are an outlier in the watch world, they were a Swiss company, which is now an American one, where as most American watch brands still making watches, like Hamilton or Ball or even Bulova are owned by Swiss or Japanese companies.
Once they were brought by the American Watch Company in the early 70s, they went with the Quartz Crisis, instead of trying to carve out a niche against it, and in the later 70s and early 80s, came out with a line of extremely thin watches which, at the height of their success, were marketed by places like Tiffany & Co, and competed directly against Rolex, with great success.
They were luxury ultra thin well before almost anyone else was doing it, and doing it in quartz before the Japanese really flew with it too. Probably very hard to find any examples these days, but they were, at the time, in the North American market at least, watches that were seen as being something as luxurious an iconic as the most esteemed Swiss luxury watches.
The Concord Delirium was the world's thinnest watch in 1979 at 1.98mm and later 1.5mm (Quartz movements, priced at $4,400). They were sold through Tiffany and were battling with Seiko at the time for the honor of the world's thinnest.
They are now part of the Movado group, with the watches mostly made in China (a few of their watches carry the Swiss Made wording).
@@johnmagnussen917 Yeah, though I believe they were, cannot say if still, looking at putting a line of US made high end mechanical watches on the market, based on a limited edition concept, with in-house movements, made domestically .
Not sure if that's a thing now, but recall hearing it a ways backs. Though I recalled hearing the estimated prices, too, and thinking it .....ambitious...an idea. So who knows if it is ever happening.
I believe Titan Edge would be in the same category as well
Love these podcast style videos!
Now that was a fun podcast to listen to!!!
Bravo....
Great stuff!
One of the most underrated and undervalued ultra-thin watches is; the Seiko CDF020 with the cal 6810 movement. Can often be bought under 1500 USD and has a 4.4mm thick case, making it the 10th thinnest mechanical watch ever made.
Love to see citizen in the mix! My first brand I ever bought
It’s like reading the Guinness world record book. You flip through the pages , get bored in few minutes, move on.
Brilliant as usual. Thank you.
What a great way to flex if your a watchmaker. Like most of RM watches I lost at their price. If I had a choice I'll have the RM sell it and buy all the others starting with the JLC.
Yet another great video, keep up the good work.
Much love and respect from the UK.
I think the only logical step is to have the movement directly manufactured within our skin.
Those fake watch making factories are just sad to watch this.
Amazingly well narrated. Funky and fresh AF!
I love the citizen!
Enjoyed the Piaget story. Great watches.
Love this movie!! Would've liked it even more if you guys would've gone back a little farther and also at least included some other (older) watches like from Seiko & Breguet & Audemars Piguet & Vacheron Constantin & Longines etc.etc.!
I'm sorry to see there is no entry from Rochefoucald. Once they made the thinnest waterproof wristwatch in the world, a complication displayed the time in Monte Carlo, Beverly Hills, London, Paris, Rome, and Gstaad, it was The Sports Watch of the the 1980s.
Would love to see a stress test with these watches
And to see the world burn too, it seems
These watches aren't for physical "stress" like a Rolex Oyster. These are for dress occasions...
I love how he changed to saying JLC after the other guy mis pronounced it.
Great review of insane engineering 👍
this watches are amazing. great video.
Modern horology aficionados are all about mechanical, but THE THINNEST WATCH EVER was the CST-01 produced in 2013: $130, 0.8mm, e-ink display w/ 30 days between charges.
Although I appreciate the technological marvel that a ultra thin watch delivers, I PREFER some thickness to my watches.
Agreed.
Concord actually made a model, Delirium, which had an overall thickness of .98 mm.
They'll always be limited edition because that's how long it takes before their watch makers threaten to quit.
Piaget just locks the emergency exits.
9:52 “Difficultness?” You invented the language, didn’t you??😂
I love the insane engineering around these incredible watches
Another brilliant podcast video. Love the interaction between you two. As for the watches they are way out of my league but the engineering that went into them is amazing. Can't wait for the Chinese to come up with homages 🤣🤣
That Piaget watch is truly beautiful. I feel like my life is transforming into a Steam Punk/Gothic blockbuster when I look into it
Yes , another fantastic little trip, this one. In fact, its the second time I've watched it, therefore, loved.
I enjoy watching this arms race for the thinnest watches even though I'll never be able to have one.
im still waiting for the thickest ever watch arms race
Piaget looks great!
Great illusion of depth in JLC movement 😮
The Piaget is still gorgeous after form following function.
The Bulgari would be had they not done that ridiculous QR crap.
… and true to form is Richard Mille making yet another ugly AF watch.
That JLC looks very much like the skeletonised and hand engraved Patek 5180. Pretty sure Patek uses the same movement
One of the funniest episodes! Great one yet again!
Good episode
So delicately exquisite,... all of them. Beautiful pieces. Anyone should be proud to have one of these. Incredible.
BTW it would have been good to tell that Bulgari also provides a very nice luxury box with the watch that can set the time and wind it for you!
Hmmm, which would I rather own --
1. $1.75M Richard Mile / Ferrari on my wrist OR
2. 3+ $500,000 Ferrari CARS in my garage.
Man, that's a tough call.
Dont beep the curse words :(
AP RD2?..!!!!????
thank you for this page of history.
As a challenge to make the thinnest watch this is a great video. Being someone who's best before date expired decades ago I wonder if they make a version for more rotund people like me. Love these videos!
The Octofinissimo was my introduction to the world of ultra thin watches.
I compare everything to that.
How'd you avoid them bending
Those watches seem so dainty, I think I would break them within an hour of putting it on. I've broken the band on an Aragon Divemaster 2 within a year of wearing it.
"How much is the thinnest Ferrari?"
Has me dying laughing.
i wont be satisfied until i can get a
Very interesting.
I picked up my Citizen One for $2200. I was lucky and got one at a really good price.
Amazing but too delicate for me!
Usually missed out, the IWC 2050 Perpetual Calendars
world's thinnest and most expensive flying carpet, someone please make this now
NO MENTION OF "TITAN EDGE"
Not really in the same league: A cheapo (less than a hundred quid) slim (4.4mm) QUARTZ watch. If you’re going to include quartz watches then why not the Concord Delirium IV? Which at 0.98mm is over 4 times slimmer than the Titan.
@@AtheistOrphan the one I have is 3.5 mm and in the video, he is showing quartz as well, (citizen and seiko). Btw titan edge also released slim mechanichal version for $1200 4 years back. Now they have released several designs for $2500+.
I have a citizen eco named silhouette in all black stainless Steel cost £300 8yrs ago still drawing energy from the sun 2cm is all❤
you should take a look at Titian Edge made in India watch.
I laughed. I cried. This episode was fun for the whole family!
i like richard mille and citizen watch
lmao the nft one
The left hand screw at 00:56 screws in the wrong way. 😢
Titanium is not the best choice for going as thin as possible. high strength steel had a high strength for a given crosssection than titanium. Titanium has good strength to weight.
I really hope you reach 1 million subs! By the way fans should check out his Talking Hands Andrew Morgan Watches! You can actually see his handsome face plus watches!
I have a smallish collection of EcoDrive watches… not expensive, never replace batteries, wide range of styles.
Such a fun video
Dang I turned a door knob and bent my watch in half! Doh! 😮
Waiting for the world's first flexible/bendy mechanical watch.
some thin watches look really cool....
