Fewer town stops is an awesome plan but if you are going to do a town day when in the Sierra I highly recommend Bishop CA… incredible fun little town that is really hiker friendly I’ve been there many times for backpacking trips and extended fly fishing excursions into the mountains… the bakery in town is INCREDIBLE!!
Good luck on the PCT. I believe miss grey goose will do a great job. She stayed at stanimals last year and she helped out a lot. Great person to have run your business.
Thank you so much! I really enjoyed my stay at Stanimals last year and in 2018. Stanimals is another great hostel on the AT with an amazing shuttle driver! Thanks again for all the help.
Have a great hike! I will be starting the PCT March 26 so I probably will not see you unless I am forced to do a flip. It's good to see you both excited to start the trail👍. I think only hikers can understand the excitement of doing a long hike like this. Well have a great hike and enjoy the journey!
Whoot! whoot! Can't wait for you two to start the PCT! Looking forward to all the upcoming videos too! I'll definitely be cheering you onward the entire way! (Terri Rauscher).
The countdown begins! Best of luck! It's great you could get someone to run the hostel while you are on the PCT. Hoping we cross paths at some point - I start 4/14 if all goes well until then.
C&S, looking forward to your PCT adventure. It is a great hike. I left in mid-May. Be ready for some hot weather and water carries. If you are in somewhat decent shape you will hit 20 miles/day pretty quickly. Although San Jacinto may be challenging at that pace. I want to see Sunset's merino sun shirt. I have an REI one that works very well, but merino wools sounds better. GOOD LUCK! (btw, take the downhill at about mile 63 very carefully - it is very steep and when I went on it there were some soft spots that seem to be due to animal tunnels).
So excited for you!! I cant wait to follow your adventure!!! Especially since i had hoped to be doing the AT this year but we had a horrible year and so much happened. Its hard to watch others out doing what i so long to do but i havent given up on our dream. Just need to plan things again as we hit a magor road block. Watching you will keep me inspiried! Glad everything is working out for you!!!
Best wishes on your big adventure. I stayed with you in 2023 on my thru hike. Lots of drama that day when my hiking partner Bailout’s husband hit his head and was lost in his car somewhere in SC. He recovered after a hospital stay and is fine now. Bailout came back on the trail and did over 700 miles of the trail with me and came to Maine to summit Katahdin with me. So excited to watch your journey this year! Greyhound.
Countdown calendar is not lame! 😂 Sounds like you’ve got things figured out. Can’t wait to follow along. Gotta love the condo! Looking forward to the gear video.
If I'm correct in my guess at who the couple is, my husband hiked a section of the AT with them in 2018! Great people to run the hostel while you are out on the PCT.
@@barbarajhurne We might just plan a trip up to Franklin. When we hiked through NC we had 7 out of 9 days of rain so missed a lot of views. There's a few places I'd like to revisit!
Glad yall are getting back out there!! I haven't tried Darwins sun hoodie (though I've ordered his cookpot), I really LOVE my Mtn Hardware Alpenglow (non-"Pro" version), used one for the entire CDT then another for the entire PCT. I'll be interested to follow any updates you can offer regarding Darwin's!
Hey Beat! Once I get some miles on it on the pct I’ll do a mini review. I loved how you made talking about your gear wins and issues part of your PCT vids.
Wow! Hard to believe it is only 100 days away. I am excited for both of you as I know this hike will be quite an adventure. Now I am wonder when you will be hiking the CDT for the triple crown😁. I can't wait to follow your PCT videos. Have a blast!
Hey I am starting PCT in April hiking as far north as possible until mid June then flipping up to Oregon to hike North on PCT with a friend then I will flip back South with her. Complicated but didn’t want to go through Sierras alone. Good luck on your hike. I’m slow at 70 so might see you.
I just got an AlphaDirect fleece myself, and I'm impressed! Was cross-country skiing near Lake Tahoe last weekend with that + short sleeve merino shirt. The first couple hundred miles will be a good place to try out the fleece + rain jacket combo for warmth, since you'll get to a mail drop every few days. I'm aiming to do the TRT this summer, and want to try that same combo. Looking forward to following you on the PCT!
Really looking forward to following another of your long hikes. I never liked the mummy style bags either. Hated the way it made my feet feel tied up. Good luck and good training.
Can’t wait to see the gear video and to follow y’all’s journey! I’ve been off YT for a while (life) and just now getting back into watching my most favorite content creators. When do y’all expect to finish the PCT?
So looking forward to following you on your PCT journey.
I started in May and loved that time. I did end up doing some night hiking since it was the end of May. Have a great hike!🙂
Awesome. We plan on splitting the day - hike early morning, siesta, hike late afternoon to dark. We’ll see how that goes.

Bishop is on our stop list! Thx for this!! 👍

Looking forward to your adventure!!
So excited for you. Will definitely be following you. Your hostel was our favorite on our AT hike
Aww, thanks!
I followed you on the TRT, Chica, and I am so excited to follow you on the PCT!!! :) Two trails that I long to do one day.
Oh yay! 😁
Good luck on the PCT! I’m excited to follow along.
Thank you!!
Nice! Happy Trails!
Looking forward to your hiking the PCT. May things go right, and no forest fire closures to cause a reroute.
Whoot! whoot! Can't wait for you two to start the PCT! Looking forward to all the upcoming videos too! I'll definitely be cheering you onward the entire way! (Terri Rauscher).
Hi Terri! Thank you so much!!!! ❤️
Sweet, I'm looking forward to you guys hiking the PCT.
The countdown begins! Best of luck! It's great you could get someone to run the hostel while you are on the PCT. Hoping we cross paths at some point - I start 4/14 if all goes well until then.
We’ll be about a month behind, but who knows? Have a blast out there.
Traverse City!! My neck of the woods!

Sorry to hear about your troubles and not being able to hike the AT. I hope the situation changes and you can live your dream. Thanks for watching.

Grey Goose and Snow Boat???? Awesome!!
@@ChicaandSunsets Yes! And I followed Her PCT journey.
Yes guessed right! We really enjoyed hiking with your husband and think of him often. Hope to see you both while we are in NC.

I’m stoked for your trip! You make sound gear choices and I’m excited to see how your hike goes.

So exciting!
Treeman from Ohio says hello and your right ULA packs are tough and comfortable
Hi Treeman! Still enjoying our treeless view! Yes we are both loving the ULA packs! And I just got all my patches sewn on mine (Chica)!
Woohoo! Can’t wait!
Great video😊
Can’t wait to see the gear video and to follow y’all’s journey! I’ve been off YT for a while (life) and just now getting back into watching my most favorite content creators. When do y’all expect to finish the PCT?
Hi there! We are shooting for 4-5 months, so we’ll see!
PCT!!✌️👍💪💪🌈❄️🤘
Do you use an S or J strap on your ULA Ohm? Good luck on your hike. I look forward to following your adventure on the PCT.
Hi there! I got the S straps (better for a woman's curves). :)
Woohoo! 🥳
Hello you 2. What puffy is Sunsets wearing? I love the color.
It’s his old Mountain Hardwear ghost whisperer (7 years old!).
Are you planning on taking spikes, micro spikes, or ice pick?
We’ll get micro spikes went to us (with bear can) before Sierras. Hoping to not need ice pick…. But we’ll see.
Sunsets, all you have to do is lose 5 pounds by mid May and the tent becomes a wash😂🍊
Oh god, that’s funny. I’ll work on that!
Best wishes for a successful and safe hike!
