Wow - honored to be included in your list of favorite hostels. It was great meeting you when you came through Franklin. Give us a shout if you're ever in the area.
Thanks to all the hotel and hostel owners that helped Braids on the trail.Braids hike was so important to us subscriber's during this shutdown gave us something to look forward to.Well done Braids.
Great job! Even though most of these places were very hiker friendly, I think it was your honest, sincere, respectful personality people noticed. That beautiful southern accent doesn’t hurt either.😉
Braids you look some happy, refreshed and well. I'm so glad you hiked the AT and made some awesome memories for yourself that will last your whole lifetime. Those places were so nice and the people seemed so sweet. Looking forward to your next video. Thanks for sharing your videos.
Girl I must say I like your taste in hotels! I don’t hike but I definitely would stay at your hotel picks...Awesome video.. Of course I knew it would be what else would Braids produce? 🥰🙏🏻Thanks kiddo!
Just came across this video while drinking coffee... Lol. It was great meeting you at the Wiley shelter in NY while I was Cheching in on the shelter. Can't belie e it was two years ago.
Thanks for all the time you put in making these lists, Braids. My hubby and I are going to be in your neck of the woods this coming weekend and into the following week to do some day hikes in the Smokies! We are splurging and staying at the Buckhorn Inn! Can't wait! 😁❤
Excellent information. I followed your ‘20 hike, and shared your many joys, and biggest disappointment-when the trail closed. Thanks for the memories. I dream of a thru hike...sometime.
Nice review, your volume and voice protection was excellent. I was hoping you would have picked Uncle Johnny's in Erwin Tennessee because that's my favorite Hostel. All my best, keep on keepin on.
That was such a nice video! Makes me want to get out there and visit. 💗 I’m wanting to do some trail magic near the GSMNP this year. Maybe I’ll stay in one of these cute places.
Great video and info on hostels and hotels, I've only stayed at one of those on your list. The Appy in Gatlinburg and we loved it, nice location, and the decor is great for hikers.
So nicely put together, thanks for taking the time to share this information. We will definitely reference back to this video as we are making our plans, and we love your style! Thanks again!!!
This was a great video Braids such great fun info and so helpful!! 😊😊so much fun to see all the towns and your pictures of the places!! You look so relaxed and happy!! Hoping to start the trail this year taking my Dog Mako along on some of it with my husband as my support team!!! Can’t wait for your next video!! I have enjoyed them so much!!!
FOOD FOR THOUGHT To be honest, I was always wondering where and when the next trail shelter would be. But after reviewing your very informative video, it dawned on me that it was more than just hiking trails and staying at shelters. I realized that it wouldn't be bad for me to wake up and smell the roses once in a while. As a big fan of IHOP restaurants, how prevalent are they on or near the trail within walking or shuttle distance? Looking forward to seeing more of your informative videos. 😃😃😃
Loved seeing the places you stayed. Glad to see you again. When you finish all the videos end with some bloopers or the scary experiences. I still never heard what happened the one night you and your friends broke camp and left because of another hiker. ❤️
Gorham, NH is a Vortex, I watched Kindred Spirits and the episode on the Libby House Inn, the original owners still check in there. It's a nice town to visit.
Great info. My cousins stayed at the hotel in Duncannon and said it was not exciting. FYI, the outfitter at Angel’s Rest is liquidating his stock. Another victim of the COVID economy.
Did you pay 100 bucks for a room at Chica Sunset place? The rate on the website is 50 per person per night sharing, two bed room. It says if the room is only occupied by one, the price is 100. The price is per room. In Covid time surely they cannot expect guests who do not know each other to share bedrooms. I would not even want to share the common facilities such as showers, kitchen.
Hi Jimmy - yes, the price at our hostel is $50 per bed. If you prefer to have the room to yourself it would be $100. Sounds like a hotel room might fit your needs a bit better than a hostel. All hostels are going to have multiple people in them. Our 2/1 bath apartment has a max capacity of 4 compared to most other hostels using bunks and crowding as many hikers in as possible. Best of luck in your journeys.
Being a thru hiker I don't understand why people continue to try profiting from the Appalachian Trail. It seems as if many hikers miss what the trail actually gives you. I enjoy the reviews and documentaries of the trail but beyond that I don't get the monetization and narcissistic addiction. The trail isn't a career its rather a lifetime experience.

Check out her live after her hike was over. She touched on the night they broke camp ( we all kept asking lol).
Great information!!!!!
Very well done and SUPER helpful!

I am hiking the AT now, class 2021, and I know it wasn't open when you went through, but Above the Clouds hostel in Suches, GA is amazing! 5 stars.

Hello Gretchen. 😀😘😘
Great info. My cousins stayed at the hotel in Duncannon and said it was not exciting.
FYI, the outfitter at Angel’s Rest is liquidating his stock. Another victim of the COVID economy.
I always had this idea that hostels were like scary dungeons
Hi Braids, do you need to be a thru hiker to stay at these hostals????
Do most places take credit cards?
How much did your thru hike cost?
