Whether you like Hyundai or not, you have to give it to them for always coming up with bold fresh designs.
what a hypocracy, Americans have been saying that at least 5 years, but they still dont buy them. lol
On the other hand, too many change over too short a time means it lower the resale value on the model you already own. Ever wonder why Apple product always maintain their value for so long? The one made today look exactly like the one built 10 years ago. Which would you prefer?
@@Soul_Flow_ i see a crap ton of them on the road, wym? The big pr hit they got tho is all the "kia/hyundai" bois breaking into and joyriding the cars. that might be a while for them to recover for consumer trust and insurance rates to adjust back down
@@Soul_Flow_America sells a lot of them. Unfortunately they are at highest theft because crime in America is at all time high with their poor administration in charge. Thats what they get for defunding police.
@@Caligiantya I see a lot of Kia and Hyundai suv
I'll say this Hyundai definitely caught me off guard with this model. Didn't see this coming a mile away 😅
the car is still a lot to take in lol
same, same!
That Santa Fe’s aesthetics - interior & exterior - are absolutely 🔥
The most interesting new SUV for 2024
The rear end isn’t great, but they nailed everything else
Nailed!
I agree. Fix the rear and will sell like crazy
Zonk on one exhaust and rear design. I was ready to order 👎
The rear is amazing. Completely different!
The rear kind of has a Cyberpunk vibe to it… I kind of like it! At least it is unique and stands out, which is hard to do these days so that’s a positive thing design-wise, to have an identifiable rear end. Now if Hyundai could just stick to one design language for a while to build image 😅
I like what they've done with this redesign. It's a great mix of rugged/luxury and I'm sure the price will be fair compared to others. I'm sure I'll see a ton of them on the road because I see a lot of Palisade and Tellurides in my area.
They tucked the wiper in! Joe must be ecstatic
You won't be while driving it. It may look cleaner aesthetically on the outside, but looking out the back from the rear view mirror, your view is impeded when it's raining or afterwards when there's dirty water spots and dust on it. The outer lower corners don't get clean making it so you can't see the entire road behind you. If they put the digital camera mirror in this, then that will help. If not, the wiper needs to be on the bottom of the glass.
@@jeffs6090 lmao you must be a joy to hang around
@@itscarmine - I am, thank you very much! If stating facts and my opinions of them trigger you to the point of writing the same boring comebacks that a million other nobody's write, then I feel sorry for you.
@@jeffs6090 lmao oh jeffy, you’re the one that’s triggered but seriously, if a million other nobody’s have said the same thing to you, you might want to look yourself in the mirror
@@itscarmine not triggered at all pal. Plus, where did I ever say they said that to me? Reading comprehension is not your strong suit. Your initial trite comeback is the definition of being triggered. I'm just pointing out facts. Have a great night.
I'm not even into crossovers but this thing looks fantastic
The baker's dozen Twinkie holder seals the deal. I need one of these. Seriously, I like it. The boxy, wide, and tall design because it's so practical for hauling whatever including people.
I can't wait to sanitize the boogers off my phone.
I have a 2008 Santa Fe and have been excited about this 2024 since first revealed this summer. The more I see and hear, the happier I am that I went ahead and bought the 2023 PHEV Limited. The new one is Palisade big and too much fussy piano black trim (and no plug in). I do appreciate Hyundai’s bold design moves though. Definitely not boring like so many others!
This is my next vehicle 100%, my 2015 challenger has done well for me but it's already starting to fall apart. Only thing that I dislike is where the taillights are located but how often am I looking at the back on my own car tbh. Lover everything else about it and it's in the perfect (assumed) price range imo
after owning 8 Mopars. , I went me back to my second Stinger..
@@entegar3I waited too long; there aren't too many around (new) at this point 😞
just a little nugget of wisdom for u. i have a 2020 santa fe limited and love it. i have 40k miles and no issues. however, i will never buy a hyundai again. the service is atrocious and i cross my fingers everyday that there wont be any issues with it. i live in seattle/tacoma WA area, i have 3 dealerships within 35 miles of me. each time i call for a simple oil change, they are 5-6 weeks out! i had a recall, it was almost 2 months out. once i bought my car as a customer, i felt like they dont give a sħit about me. where as my lady has a toyota, calls for an oil change and within 3 days they can get her in. all im saying is be cautious. i love my vehicle but the service has made me sick to own it. they throw u to the curb.
@@TheKauaiboyz51 you have a hyundai, not a bentley, just take it to a pep boys or jiffy lube lol
@@TheKauaiboyz51 An oil change is something you can easily do urself.
Still loving my 2023 limited! Hope youre well Joe! Thanks for another great video
This looks like a modern Ford Flex. This will do well with families who need storage/space and folks who like that "off road" look. As the current owner of a 2023 Calligraphy, im totally happy with mine. Thanks for the review Joe. As always, great work. 🎉 and props to Lori for keeping the area secure. 🎊
🧐 the Ford Flex was so wide and low compared to this. But to each their own.
you must be blind. Ford Flex was ugly box.
Cheap Korean junk, even if it’s a “calligraphy”
Digging the redesign …the boxy looks remind me of the 1980s era of car design
imagine what this would be worth back then lol, 1 million dollars lol
Yes yes yes! I think it is great looking. Futuristic for sure. Great job reviewing. Great camera work by Lori as always.
I really like this! Wish the roof was all clear and not split. Makes the middle look dim
…can’t wait to see the pricing 😊
I actually like it! I’d prefer a hybrid version, though.
Joe, you always make me laugh ❤️😊. Thanks for the great and fun reviews!
Aside from being a possible design choice in South Korea, the reason why you see only one exhaust pipe on most of Hyundai and Kia's models is that the vehicles have a single exhaust manifold, so there's no need for a second exhaust pipe. I personally don't mind the single exhaust pipe since I think it makes the new Santa Fe look more rugged.
Even the older models with dual tailpipes weren't really dual exhaust anyway. Generally the exhaust was split after the resonator, even on V6 models.
Hyundai is really innovating here! I currently drive the new Hyundai Tucson and it feels so luxurious driving it! So many features that high end SUVs shy to provide customers paying 6 figures.
All their cars, even the base models
Nothing about Hyundai is luxurious. I don’t know why people think it is.
I’m all in! Sadly, our ‘14 Santa Fe won’t break, so given the economic situation we as a nation find ourselves in, we’ll wait.
I'd get a '23
Economic situation? We are in Bidenomics. It is the best of times…right?
Why would a 9 year old car break... toyotas last for 30 years
This is another great Hyundai design. A lot of nice textures and lines.
My wife and I both have Palisades, fell in love with them a couple years ago. I drive for a living, I absolutely love this! Can't wait to see pricing. Hyundai really paid a lot of attention to detail on this. And their new commercial rocks!!
never would have thought hyuandai would make a range rover but here we are...
But better!
Does it start? How does it handle? How loud is it inside?
Well, they are well done on interior and exterior. However, engine and mechanical parts, they are not there yet. So, think well before you spend your money on Hyundai. Thanks for so many great videos to you and Lori. You are the best and of course, Twinky man.
YES YES YES!!!! I was waiting to see you review this slick SUV Joe!!
I am so glad that I can bring it to you!
I have a 2022 Santa Fe. It's the most comfortable car to drive and everything is great quality. It's among the top 3 best cars I've ever had. When the lease is up, I'm going for the new Santa Fe.
Love the look of it! Great video.
Two questions. My wife does not like the flat black rims. Will we be able to get the hybrid with chrome rims and will we be able to buy it as a second row bench (3 cars seats across), or is it ONLY captain’s chairs?
I currently have the 2023 Santa Fe calligraphy and I can say this new model is not an upgrade - they have split the sunroof away at the front, however it is not an automatic cover - much like the Palisade you have to manually move that cover to close it. I am not sure why they want to cram a third row of seats into this vehicle. If you want a third row but the Palisade where someone can comfortably sit in the third row and still have room for luggage. I wish they would put the turn signals back up off the rear bumper - it’s okay in Cali where there is no snow, but when it is snowy you cannot see those turn signals.
Did they keep spare tire like was in all Santa Fe? If not, I just wasted time to wait for my current Santa Fe upgrade. Will need to move to other "old fashion" brand.
I'm worried about interior quality. WIll it feel too plastic besides having leather trim. Plus the overall horsepower seems week. WIll it still look good 5 years old?
This thing truly has it's own distinct look. Nice!
I did not know that about Atari. Great review as always guys🙌🏾!! I’m loving the new Santa Fe. At first sight I was disappointed it looks like they were purely copying other automakers, but I do see the uniqueness of Hyundai and how they give extra TLC for the driver’s needs UNLIKE other makers. And they use their space well and give you your bang for your buck. I’ll always be team Hyundai✊🏾
*love the new* LED lighting
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I love that square auto design is Back in fashion. This looks really nice!
What’s the difference between xrt, limited and calligraphy? I prefer awd and hybrid. I want all leather with every add on option available. They are comparing is to the defender but it looks like it sits low. It don’t even look like it sits up like SUV especially in the back.i don’t like the console.
Something is odd about the rear end. Is it because the tail lights are too low?
A back end that only a mother could love! Love the front end though
The gloss black is excessive especially around the wheels, this definitely has Land Rover styling cues, tail lights are weird, the interior is pretty stylish, great coverage from the L.A. Auto Show!
They should of kept the santa fe the santa fe. This should of been a bring new suv with a different name
Looks nice how is the Soundsystem? And what brand of speakers are they using?
Bose
Wooo I love this new design. Definitely buying next year!
I’m so glad that you like this one
My 2017 Santa Fe has 3 rows with AC controls and I'm liking this new one a lot!
This whole thing looks effin phenomenal
Love the redesign. Always loved a boxy design. Looking forward to seeing the price tag.
Me too very retro aesthetic
It ain't retro looking , it's just plain boxy and ugly looking. Retro looking is like the Ford bronco , or Mercedes g wagon.
This Santa fe design looks messy, it's like they wanted it to look like a land rover but couldn't figure out how to achieve that look.
I actually like this SUV 👏🔥💯🙌
My previous santa fe 2015 had catalytic converter stolen multiple times. Could you please tell the location of catalytic converter in 2024 model. If it is at a easy to steal location again, then this is not the right model for me.
At the beginning of the video when Joe was comparing the Santa Fe with the Palisaded, he said the Santa Fe is three feet shorter right? Did Joe mean 3 inches shorter? Just making sure :)
Would have liked to see some contrast stitching on that black leather, especially on the Calligraphy trim! Bronze stitching would look great. It would match the exterior of this one!
What a nice surprise from Hyundai! I believe they knocked this one out of the box. Plus, I love the color. Joe/Lori, great job as always!
People complaint about the rear, the whole damn suv is a superb design
Great review as usual. Love this redesign, my next vehicle. Looking forward to seeing one in person!
Aside from the grand canyon size door/fender gaps it's pretty decent looking. Just don't park it overnight in the hood. ☺☺
That test drive left me speechless. Wow!
I think this would look great in a light off-road mall crawler trim. Interesting to see if they’ll do that 🧐
We are so glad we bought one!!! We love it
That is super fantastic to hear!
Joe what is the gas tank size ? And does the gas tank door lock ?
I love it how he always brings in some food or snack recommendations lol, a lot of times I am watching his videos for the recommendation:)
How many videos do you make. Awesome content. Best Wishes.
When are they coming out with pricing and MPG for both engines?
Is there AC and heated seats? Heated Stirring wheel?
Love the look and the features! We almost bought the 2023 Sante Fe Hybrid LMTD. When we just saw the 2024, we have decided to wait to test drive the"24 model. Thank you for the review!
My next vehicle HAS to be a phev. With bare minimum of 40 miles all electric range. I may even settle for 38 ev range. Come on Hyundai give this to us on this new Santa Fe. Or perhaps the updated Palisade!
Great video again, Joe! Outside kinda reminds me of the GMC terrain? Maybe just me...
Love the boxy look!
Joe, I wish you actually spent the time to talk about the power train options for the 2024 Sante Fe.
After my own research, it seems like they only have the 2.5L 4-cylinder non-turbo and the turbo versions for non-hybrid engines. Even the turbo-charged version, it's only 277 HP and 311 lb-ft of torque. 8.0 seconds 0-60 with the most powerful engine option available. Base gas engine? 11.5 seconds 0-60. I'm not expecting it to be a performance vehicle but 0-60 in the 7-second range is the par for this segment these days.
Very underpowered and will be a skip for me.
Where do you get those numbers? I see 9.0 sec for the 2.5 n/a, 6.0 sec for the 2.5t, and 7.4 sec for the 1.6t hybrid. I did remember pne of those car mags got a 2.0t that was 8.0 sec.
Totally agree. For making it bigger the powertrain options are a huge disappointment.
The back is very aggressive looking. Very nice design!
It looks like a foreign car from the islands or Africa no thanks
@RealKevGotEm I happen to live on an island of 3 million plus people, so that makes sense. Also, regarding my recent lawsuit, I called the Barns Firm, and they got me a $800k settlement. Now I can afford the top of the line 2024 Santa Fe "Calligraphy" series!
Looks great, and I heard it has a digital rear view mirror, too !
I like the single exhaust.
Is there an auto start/stop off switch? I didnt see one when you highlighted the interior.
Highly doubt is a key start engine
Hyundai are killing it the production line I think it looks pretty great like an expensive cars but for a decent price
Hey Joe, at 1:35 you said this new Santa Fe is 3 feet shorter than the Palisade... I did a quick Google search and got 6" shorter, but that sounds like too little. Hoping you can get to the bottom of this 🙂Or - I totally misunderstood you, LOL!
It is 6 inches shorter than the Palisade. Sante Fe is 191" and Palisade is 197"
Just bought the 2024 Palisade Calligraphy because i needed a bigger SUV and its like owning a big Mercedes benz suv without the price tag 💪🏽💪🏽
3 feet difference between this and the Palisade? You mean 6 inches? Palisade is 196 and according to Car and Driver, this is a tad over 190 inches in length.
I'm loving everything but the rear end but maybe it takes some getting used too. The rear wiper being tucked away is awesome and should be used in all vehicles going forward too 😆
Nice but the signal and hazard taillights are too low. I hated that on my base trim Kia '21 Kia Telluride.
I just bought a 2023 Santa Fe limited edition last July but I’m definitely trading it in for the 2024 next year
Not bad guys Thnxs again joe and crew for the great video’s 💯🇺🇸
That back end will never look good.
Horrible
Worst.
Atrocious
Truly one butt ugly beast!
Agreed. Looks like a 1990's style GM minivan.
Zonking all that gloss black. if you're not going to color match then put protective plastic on those fenders
massage seats or relaxed mode? or both?
That vehicle is SLICK!
I just saw one today while driving to work in Irvine, Ca. I had to do a double take since I knew it wasn’t out yet. I’ll tell you what, that vehicle was beautiful out in the wild
love the more square look but bummed about the captains chairs in the mid row.
The limited model has a bench for the 2nd row
Is it bigger than a cx-90,mdx,pilot and pathfinder inside?
I think this car is very suitable for camping, but I have always had a question that I hope someone with knowledge can help answer. How do unplugged gasoline-electric hybrid cars power air conditioning? Can this new Santa use air conditioning when parked? THX :>
Where are the rear blinkers? Still low in the bumper? Hope not
Yep, possible safety hazard.
I've been waiting for your video on the new Santa Fe since I first read about this vehicle a couple months ago. I anxiously await your test drive video!
I love this; Great review!!
I appreciate you saying that!
I think I would need adjustable pedals and the way the gas pedal is I don't think I can put an extender on it :(
Love the looks. When can I buy one?
A real beauty indeed😊
What a beauty
1980s and 1990s design wow boxy type I love it so aesthetic ❤
Joe - What is wrong with the rear? No Zonks?
An SUV hasn’t piqued my interest this much since the Telluride reveal. This one is right up there. I own a 2021 Telluride now. I’d consider trading it in for this…
Does it come without 3rd row
Hyundai is killing it. I was looking at Ford but ended up getting a Hyundai and I could not be happier with my purchase. Hyundai is producing some of the best value vehicles on the market. Other manufacturers should take notice and follow suite with their prices…
Excellent presentation Joe.
That is so awesome of you to say Bruce!
Is it really 3 feet shorter than the palisade, or 3 inches shorter? 3 feet seems like a lot!
Heated and ventilated seats?
This will slot more like the Sorento for Kia. It was the right move for Hyundai because more brands are moving to multiple 3 row midsize SUVs in their lineups. ie, Kia, Toyota, Mazda, etc
