I don't know if anyone else is thinking this but... if you had a car with engine issues (rod knock and headgasket) it would be pretty convenient to have it "stolen and damaged" for insurance payout, buy back and sell with no fuel pump for the buyer not being able to check the engine.. this screams scam all over it bro

For example "the one time it was driven" and it gets stolen just seems too perfect and a convenient story. Also why would someone vandalise the car so much? Maybe to make sure it's guaranteed payout from insurance 🤔
Another thing not adding up is to to say something (they poured stuff into the engine) to cover yourself from the next buyer coming back to you saying the car is f*cked.

Yeah really doesn't make sense to me why he wouldn't do a leak down test before pulling the engine. If it's just head gasket he could've diagnosed it then and there and only pulled the head off instead of the whole engine and trans.

my r32 was broken into 4x when it was my daily. Kill switches saved it but yes very annoying that they are targeted mainly by 16 year olds we busted afew and zero issues 4years prior. Makes me worried about putting an s15 back on the road :S

Knowing rb's it's probs melted ringlands and maybe done the head gasket in the process. Ticking could just be hydraulic lifters. Especially if it wound up boost on stock ecu, they dont have protection features like fuel/boost cut compared to a toyota
Moral of story. Don't buy a stolen car. That thing was sat on limiter for sure
