And she'll have a great car that she will keep forever and enjoy and pass down to her kids. If she can afford to build it, I doubt she will care what she could "sell" it for.
@mosconi0359. How could she possibly make an exact replica out of it, when it's a different car? The Superbird was a one year only 1970 car. Her car is a 1969 Plymouth Satellite and looks completely different.
Even though it's a cobbled Bird lol, would love to see a MOPAR powerplant in it! Worked with faraday cages for many years, they are used to shield sensitive electronics like radio receivers from the ambient signals floating around everywhere so we can measure the sensitivity and noise rejection capabilities. Same thing with transmitters we can broadcast signals measure for proper quality and not be blasting stuff out into the universe or having circuits within the transmitter be affected by higher ambient noise signals. It's not where you would typically build anything. Spent 10 years as a technician and technical services manager at a seven city 911 emergency dispatch center down in Hawthorne California. Then growing up back in Connecticut the rich boy son of the supervisor of a complex I lived in got the first or one of the very first Super Birds delivered in our town. 69 roadrunner or satellite is my guess. Gtx and the satellite sport had a slightly different grill than what is in the trunk. The tail lights were pushed in more on the gtx. Reproduction fenders and nose, wing car anyway. It's cool.

Emilia, as a teenager, when I was 16, I bought a new, Dodge Coronet Super-Bee. It came standard with a 383 cubic inch engine, rated at 335 horsepower. One day, while driving my Super-Bee, I saw a brand new Superbird on a dealer's lot. I stopped into the dealer to ask him what the price of it was, and he said that it costed $10,000. I thought that the price was insane, so I walked out of the dealership, I mean, my Dodge Coronet Super-Bee only cost me $3000, so I couldn't understand why the Superbird would cost that much. As for your recently purchased Superbird, you need to restore it to it''s original form. That mean's installing a 440 cubic inch, magnum engine, or the powerhouse, the 426 cubic inch, Hemi engine. Those were the powerhouses of that era.

Would love to see this as a resto-mod, have new tech while keeping the old-school look and vibe, keep the interior black leather with suddle hints of updates, slap an awesome engine with a manual trans, as well as do a Charger SRT suspension conversion on it
Put a 426 hemi in it. With a 4 spd.
I would LOVE to see a collaboration with Nick’s Garage from Canada and make this more of a tribute car for those who appreciate the classics, and by all means get the suspension up to snuff!’
Hey Amelia and Sandy that is awesome barn find cant wait to see the build on this Legendary car . Much respect for you all at the shop .
I grew up around Plymouth fury's and dodge aspens. But our best and my favorite was a 1965 dodge pickup with a slant 6 not fast but it was reliable we flipped the odometer 3 times before it was falling apart body wise. It was our work truck we had a junkyard. Just found your channel and I'm excited to watch your stuff even the Ford stuff. Lol just teasing
You can't wear those slant 6's out.
well leave it to Emelia to find another abandoned classic! another restoration project is awesome to see! love seeing these cars getting another chance
You’ve been killing it with the content lately!
followed you for years now, your channel should have twice as many subs! You are a legit car gal/expert (more knowledgeable than 100% of my car guy friends). who checks the box of old school cars guys, new school car guys and everything in between. EH is a genuine badass.
Merry Christmas to you Ms. Emelia Hartford and the entire ECrew family! With love ❤👍
Okay, I don't want to come off as a MOPAR fanatic, but you need to get a 1970 Plymouth Satellite or Roadrunner to make this build worthwhile. While it is a cool possibility, using the 68 or 69 shell just wouldn't be the same. Also, let me know if you need help locating one, or any parts you may need because I've got a few things tucked away myself.😉
Yeah, I just don't understand the excitement of finding some random Mopar product that's had a wing and nose bolted on. Might as well be a 64 Volare. I wouldn't waste a penny without al least finging th right year body, and even then you've got the rear window situation to deal with.
@@dlshady She made a big deal over her "Ford GT 40" too when it's actually a replica. Prone to exaggeration.
@@dennismoon3870oh well.. We all make exceptions for our friends, right? 😋
@@dlshadyno the rear window issue is only with the Daytona, the Satellite or roadrunner never had the flying buttress C pillars. The back glass was flat to begin with.
@@skxj Swing and a miss. Did you know that all Superbirds had vinyl tops? Do you know why? You might want to look into that. Here's a video showing the two side by side. ua-cam.com/video/2Ih7cLdrIZk/v-deo.htmlsi=YmQ0pn0JkuZzkreo
I just finished doing the rust on my old Mustang and it is always worst then what it looks ! What you see is only the tip of the iceberg ! I got it in the early spring and just finished removing all of the rust... Now rebuild time ! I dont even think I would do that again ! And the cables and wires where almost all shot... Have fun !
Taking "Return to life" quite literally and I'm here for it! Congrats on the Superbird!
But it's not a Superbird, it's not even the correct year for a Superbird.
k @@1972Ventura455ho
Frankenbird??? Maybe?
@@1972Ventura455ho Hate to say it, but it’s pretty much a Superturd. I’d sell the front clip and wing to someone building a clone out of an actual 70 and then turn the 69 into a roadrunner clone.
If it was an original Superbird.
This is an interesting switch for a UA-cam channel. So many keep striving to get that next impossible car, while you have ventured into the kitcar / clone scene. This will fit in nicely with the Daytona and GT. Maybe rent them out as movie cars.
Awesome find hope you will finish it on the channel thanks for the awesome show
My favorite car vlogger and wow what a sweet find, love you so much Emelia
Congratulations so happy for you. Have you ever heard of Nicks old school garage? He’s in Canada he is one of the Best mopar engine builders ever he has a big You tube channel a lot of followers you should look him up he could possibly help you out just saying it could work for both of you he’s a really good guy.
Wow! What a find. You’re so fortunate to be the first call. I would love to see an original 426 hemi put in this car keep it old school. That would look so sweet! But it depends how much money do you wanna put into this car? I’m sure you will do what’s right congratulations.
If you are going no budget resto mod, I think it needs a supercharged 7.0L Hellephant crate motor. And a carbon fiber dash. Keep it orange. Or maybe Petty blue. Purple would be sick.
Panther pink since it's driven by a girl
girls likes colors other than pink too yk, what were you implying by that@@missingremote4388
I think that the vents that you are referring to are in the front fenders over the wheels. The rear quarters had special features to support the wings to the frame. Great video Emelia!
The rear quarters also had a vent or ducts of some kind. They were in front of the rear wheels and just below the door handle line.
@@hazyblue69 yes, the typical duct for the roadrunner. The swirling dust trail of the cartoon would have started from there leading forward to the Roadrunner.
The ducts came on 70's two doors but are missing because the car in the video is a 69.
STAAAAAAAGED
sure buddy...
I am definately looking forward to0 seeing this build its one of my favorite cars anything 70 or older in a Plymouth or Dodge gets my blood going lol. I had a 73 340 Barracuda and a couple Roadrunners so I am looking forward to this one. I was hit in a 63 Chrysler Saratoga I was almost finished restoring only had a couple more peices left and paint and it would have been complete . But I got hit early in the morning on my way home from work and it was totaled. Put me out of work for 3 years back then.
I Have worked on a lot of Mopars. I think if that was mine I would do a complete restore as a kit Superbird with a 426 hemi. It would still be worth a lot of money Mopars are ridiculously priced nowadays.
All these cars are just big, loud and handle so lazy. So much more fun in a smaller car that can go as fast or faster.
That car was 200mph+ on the track in 1970! That's Still fast today! 😋
That Saratoga was in Canada, eh?
A lot of work ahead on this baby Emelia and I look forward to to seeing it's progress.🏁
Not sure if alot of you noticed but this is a roadrunner body, they didn't make a Daytona in a roadrunner package, it was only for the charger, they built the superbird out of the gtx and satellite, this one could be a satellite, needs some sheetmetal but I can just imagine wat this baby will turn into in Amelia's possession, love it, always loved the grx and roadrunners in particular
Great addition and Can’t wait to see the build restoration!
not worth it
Seems to be a 69 Plymouth Belvedere. Still awesome. Love to see the old school car builds. Definitely a resto mod. Hellcat a must and new frame with 4 link etc.
Yes, I think she does not yet know the entire rear clip is different between 69 and 70.
@@auteurfiddler8706 From floorpans to the entire back half, there is a ton of work here! I'd like her to name it and stop calling it a superbird tho.
Based on the rear window shape @4:04 , looks to be a '69 GTX or Roadrunner.
I think she should put the new yellow block they came out with(same as in the Demon170).
@@MrRcw79 That shape is shared with 68-70 Coronet, Belvedere. RR. GTX, and Satellite. The only one that doesn't have it is the 70 Superbird. I identified her car as 69 Belvedere coupe (post two door).
The pre-production Superbird test car, when Chrysler was first developing the wing car for Plymouth, had a wing and front nose mounted on a 1969 Road Runner. They even took photos when they were building the car. Really cool vintage photos to see online.
If this is one if those, then it is worth its weight in gold...If not, then she paid a king's ransom for a turd!
First thing you need to do is STOP CALLING IT A SUPERBIRD!!! It’s just a satellite. Superturd is much more fitting.
Bevedere. That means "Beautiful View" in Italian, by the way.
Roadrunner not Satellite
What a find Amelia! I love the front end of that car! Super cool looking! Can't wait 2C this baby running!😂❤
Nice find! Can’t wait to see it finished. It looks like an old Satellite.. put the hemi in it
I’m really excited to see this on the channel, I would love to see it get more track focused mods
cleeter is crying right now
Wow, great find. I could see the exterior as a great superbird in a light blue and a white roof and wing. Make it look stock outside and in the interior. Monster the engine though..... what a perfect find. I would sit there too with a beer and look at it as well.
That's an awesome find. And being a replica any idea is a good one. You should do an old school build on that, keep a little of the patina, 440 six pack with a shaker hood, old-school 4 speed. Hemi's are cool and all, but you just can't beat a good old big block, IMO.
Not even a replica/clone/re-creation. It's a 69 Satellite with a wing and nose. The tail is all wrong for starters.
440 six pack was Dodge, 440 six barrel is Plymouth. Superbirds were 1970 only like @trumbley22 says it's a 69 Satellite. She got taken again with so called Superturd, Hope she didn't overpay for this one like the shitboxes Dean sold her.
@@speedyg2577 Oh man, it should be called the superturd. You nailed it. People see a big wing and a pointy nose and think it's something incredible and ignore the rest of the car.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought those values for the kit cars were ridiculous. Everyone in the comments thought Dean was some kind of a hero, he didn't impress me any.
@@trumbley22 Right, Dean to me is nothing but a conman and I don't believe what he said he paid for them. He found a cash cow in Emelia and took advantage. He never makes eye contact. Your definitely not the only one. Merry Christmas.
@@speedyg2577 Merry Christmas to you too, have a good one!
Def a replica. The Superbird didn’t come out until 1970 and was made only one year. This is a 1969 Belvedere/sattelite/roadrunner, so now you can go any way you want to, and make your own awesome wing beast. No ford in the engine bay. Blasphemy!!
In my psychic mopar mind i see the SuperBird as follows:
440 6 pack with a hot 509 mopar purple shaft cam with B1 heads, old school 4 speed pistol grip with Kevlar clutch.
Congratulations Emelia !! Mopar hot rodding is fun as long as you go big block old school...😅❤ ✌
I say build it right, make it an exact replica of the real deal. Put in the 440 six pack with all the bells and whistles and definitely paint it that awesome orange. Even a "clone" of a Superbird is a super bird in my book. Have fun with it. I'll be watching.
Great plan. She’ll spend $200k to build a car that’ll be worth $75k max at the end. Sheer genius.
And she'll have a great car that she will keep forever and enjoy and pass down to her kids. If she can afford to build it, I doubt she will care what she could "sell" it for.
Tell us you know nothing about cars without telling us you know nothing about cars.
Yeah, what he said!
I would die to have one of those LOL! I am so freaking jealous right now lol! Huge Congrats Emelia!
Whatever you do Emelia it will be stupendous!!!❤
Hands down my favorite car I hope to own and mod one day, definitely gonna enjoy watching you make art with this one 🙏🏾
Well you are out of luck that is a one of one super rare 1969 Sateabird, Fred Flintstone special.
@@MrNota500 yeah I doubt I will ever get my hands on that exact model or one like it but either the 69 Daytona or 70 Superbird definitely gotta come home with me one day. Going to be the project car of dreams 🔥
Can’t wait to see what you do with the bird!
Thanks for posting and sharing.
To me this is a classic pile of rust. I would pick the couple parts and get rid of the rest. It went from super bird to super terd (Satellite).
I agree that this car makes for a terrible Superbird. But I think it would make for an interesting 69 Road Runner or better yet a 69 GTX (change to a hard top). The body is way better than most in terms of rust other than the floors and there is no sign of it being bent. I don't think it is junk at all.
She really needs another parts car or two to make two good cars.
I would be in search of another car to put the wing and nose on and ditch the rest. We will be watching to see what happens.
Instead of worrying with all your registrations, have you ever thought about getting your dealers license and just get a couple of dealer tags? And as far as the car goes, please keep it all original all Mopar!
Those Cragar SST mags bring back good memories.
Forza Horizon fans biggest dream
So true lol
I think you need to turn around and run from this still It's going to cost you about the same as one that's not rusted up by the time you finish it.
I enjoy her content and all she does, as long as she can afford it all more power to her. But for once I'd like to see an automotive UA-camr finish projects fully before getting another one. Plus she's still looking for a new shop isn't she?
She took it to the body shop to have floors put in. She seems to have an unlimited budget.
I agree, that's what the guy that sold it to her did. He punted it once he realized its going to cost way more than it will ever be worth. Who even knows what a 69 Satebird is worth. It's one of one but in no way desirable or valuable.
Go, Go, Go girl! "Super" cool. I cannot wait to see the build.
Time for a clab with Brandon at Muscle Rod Shop. They know where all the good parts are.
ROADSTER SHOP CHASIS / 1000 HP ( HELIPHANT CRATE MOTOR) BUILT T56 6 SPD. WIDE BODY KIT .!! PERFECT CAR TO DO THAT TO!! GET IT GIRL !!😃❤️👍🏽
Merry Xmas Emelia and to the whole team enjoy the festive season, It's a great barn find, and my thoughts to be different a twin-turbo 7.0L Mercury (MercuryBird or SuperMerc)

Hey new to the channel, saw the Superbird icon pop up in my feed. Watched it. I think, since the buddy you bought it off of, told the story about Richard Petty, you should paint the Superbird as a Richard Petty racecar with his number 43 on the doors!
HELLCAT BABEE
With it being a clone. You don't have to worry about anything you doing anything to it's value. It's technically a blank slate. Get ready to have fun.
A rusty blank slate that isnt worth the time or money on a clone car.
Why do they keep calling this a 'SuperBird'? Really.....
Plymouth is the brand name, SuperBird is maybe the cars model
They name it Superbird because it of the nose of the car like beak of bird:|
AWESOME.....great find, good luck with it. MOPAR 4 EVER.
On the quarters there is a stamped vin. There should be a build plate on the inner fender.,
This is awesome Emilia!
Hey Melia great content as always.thinking 440 or hemi with a 6pack induction/injection.
Definitely a Plymouth Satellite the angled tail lights and the line on the quarter panel gives that away does Super Bee and the Daytona both have flat tail light panels. But still a cool find and going to be a badass build
Awesome car emelia, can’t wait to see what you do with it
Paint is perfect only need clear coat and a big block chrome supercharger with chrome rims raising suspension cache inside 🎉
69 roadrunner or satellite is my guess. Gtx and the satellite sport had a slightly different grill than what is in the trunk. The tail lights were pushed in more on the gtx. Reproduction fenders and nose, wing car anyway. It's cool.
amazing finad Emelia Thanks for showing me pictures of it at pomona power tour when i meet you hehe :D
I found your channel today and subscribed to it today 😀 👍
Fantastic!!! Congratulations!!!
My neighbor Frank worked at a Dealership. He would drive home some incredible cars. One was an orange Roadrunner about 1970. I remember seeing the car up close, but so long ago, got brain fog. I was into Stock Cars at a younger age, but moved interest into Dragsters, Funny Cars, then Trans Am series, and Can Am. Only competed at SCCA auto-cross.
Orange! Real 426 Hemi, 6 speed manual. Take it on Drag Week, Sick Week plus do the Texas Mile for top speed! Break that 200MPH in the Texas Mile and I'll buy it from you!
Dark green with white stripes black interior 🔥🔥🔥awesome
gotta have a 426 hemi or larger one or the really built 440 with (400 block with 440 crank). 4 or 5 speed. big exhaust with big balance tube and a 280 duration cam. she would be so sweet. who cares if clone. great find. This is the kind you make nice as a daily driver. a/c and everything.

Oh man, oh man, oh man, I cannot wait to see the journey for this Superbird!
I can't wait to see the restored on the Plymouth.
Oh man since its not a real one its good for a resto mod project. Paint it plum crazy purple. Black wing with daytona logo. Lower it a bit. Hellcat motor. Clean interior with bucket seats. Digial dash and a roll cage. Period correct wheels or some chromes to go with the purple. 🔥
