+DriftTek Mayhem has it's own look but comparing it to the Nascarlo it's just a stock body with some roadkill fixes and Nascarlo on the other hand is a full on Roadkill design car. So I would say that Nascarlo is the best looking car they have built in Roadkill yet and not just fixed car.
+What's Will Doing there's much less grip on clay than there is on asphalt. One emergency manoeuvre or a big pothole and the ball joint would have experienced much more stress than on the oval.
+Alex Wu Hmm yeah could be. I don't have any personal experience on a clay track, been to a couple races and seen how lumpy he tracks can get. Would think a pothole could put some stress on things even when slipping.
+Johnny Frost ...They knew the front end had been hit while it was in storage. ua-cam.com/video/YUefSKCjP8w/v-deo.htmlm29s , would not have been fun to roll it a freeway speeds.
I truly miss these days of Roadkill. Nascarlo, the Rotsun, Vette Kart, and the Toyota truck with boat motor were always my three fave builds. A true inspiration for me and my gearhead journey in those days.
Oh man that sucks. You can see the right front drop and dig in. You need to get this fixed and put it up against the General Mayhem. Those two are a match made in heaven.
+Jay Leno it inspired me to build a junkyard charger myself, building a 69 charger now, still needs some things, but have a body and an rv motor for $300...
+Jay Leno It's easier to say that guys living in the south have a pretty sweet deal, automotive-ly speaking. Guys have stuff in their junk piles down there that would be pure premium gold plated hotness if was a few states north. (or on the east coast)
This, fucking this. if anyone from motor trend reads the comments please make this happen, or race the general mayhem and the nascarlo on the dirt oval. Regardless they need to make those two cars race somewhere not on pavement.
+TurtleFace991 yeah :) that or buy a second one of these and take em there. I do think it would be cool for them to go to the rally school with all the corners, bumps and water it would be sick. plus they said they would go back.
+Zac Price Yeah, that would suck. Though, from all the cars that they drove, I'm thinking this would've been the best car to be in during whatever happens after that thing broke on a highway.
I gotta be honest: I love this thing, I even love the weird roofline, it's epic. I wish this kind of stuff was legal in Germany... Kind of pissed he put it in the wall though. But by the looks part of the steering snapped.
+frosty95xy In gewissem Sinne wäre sowas sogar möglich (wenn man das Fahrgestell eines 30 + Jahre alten Serienfahrzeuges als Basis verwenden würde, aber die Einzelabnahme wird teuer.
I think my favorite moment is right after David hits the wall. I loved seeing Mike run over to make sure he was okay. Really shows how these guys are friends who care. Good moment. Nice to see actual down-to-earth people on Car Shows.
actually, I don't think so. for a balljoint to fail like that, it was probably from it sitting for so long. for a ball joint to fail because of an impact, that car should have taken a pretty good hit. so, more than likely, the ball joint just broke after being beat on by them and probably from being rotten.
I hate to say this, but I think I actually like the Monte Carlo better with the roof moved back slightly. I think it actually looks better than stock lol. And that is coming from a person that actually likes Monte Carlos
does anybody realise mike was first more worried for David than for the car, and you can see how when everything is clear they start worrying bout the car
Yeah i can see in that clip that the car did a weird movement where it did dip down in the front right where it broke the ball joint. Truly roadkill fashion where they get it running and never touch the suspension and put the car through like 1 and a half Gs of force turning lol.
Far easier to take an old muscle car, lower it on stock car looking wheels and tires. U can use miss matched panels, bolt it a few cage bars, do loud exhaust etc. these guys REALLY REALLY know what they are doing and have all the tools/budget, remember they did a motor swap in the snow in the parking lot and drove it home.
@@Nauj1017 Because you can see the love they put into building the nascarlo. It's the coolest thing they have built, its every little boys dream car and you can see those emotions in them. Especially when friberger crashed he truly felt bad and that reflected in finnigan. So yeah bro that your why

One of my favorite episodes ever. The stockcar is dear to me because I'm pretty sure that's my old engine and transmission in there. I parted out my old race car after a wreck that claimed the life of my good friend and co-driver. The best thing about this episode is the body modification. You really made something that looks surprisingly good, completely precipitously. I never liked that monte carlo look until you moved the roof back and slammed it. Now I'm determined to replicate this someday!
Iv watched this episode dozens of times and I typically exit out before the credits but I was distracted this time and when I grabbed my phone to change it I noticed all the scenes with the dog and being such a dog lover it made me smile that this episode paid tribute to her. ❤️
Oh, so now the pay gate is gone. Now I can finally enjoy watching roadkill again after 4 or 5 years. Funny how sponsored by Dodge and still wanted an admission fee.
the best part is as someone who has seen this episode upwards of 12- 16 ish times over the years is that dave knows this car was set up for road racing which means it is waAAAYYY off for running ovals and then add dirt into the equation he is still shocked that it hit the wall lmao. true roadkill 🤘🤘🤞 i miss having a motortrend account
it hit the wall cuz the baljoint popped out ,the right wheel could not spin plus the quarter pannel dug into the ground xd got nothing to do with it not being setup for ovals and that being said you can drive ovals without a setup, the setup sure gives some mroe grip but mostly decreases tirewear xd
+Dylan Johnson When you end up with a constant chuckle watching, you know it's good. I do have to say, when that air cleaner bailed, I let out a good laugh.
Love you guys! I've been watching you guys on motortrend for 4 yrs. My satellite sucks right now cuz it doesn't work! SO....I have you guys on UA-cam! Love the cut-up job on the Monty.
Looks like when he turned right to slide it he was alittle too high, then something snapped and locked the wheels to the right. I really respect guys that drive on dirt, that's alot of skill
the lowerballjoint popped out wich buried the wheel in the wheelwell unabling it to spin there for its like having 100% brakes on 1 wheel of the car and due to it being low the quarter pannel also dug into the ground, not a single driver out there coulda saved that one
it's been a long time since this aired - why is this back now? yes, i still do youtube searches hoping the guys will be back for good which is why i am here now. why now, guys?
Motortrend tried to capitalize on roadkill by deleting all the episodes off youtube and only making them available on their paid streaming service. It is failing so I guess this is their response to try to get some views back.
@@benjaminshelton885 i figured as much i just didn't want to say they were view whoring. oops, i guess i just did... i tried the motor trend route, but was not inspired to stay a subscriber. yes, some of the shows are worth viewing but somehow roadkill changed after they left.
+Ashish Patel Motor Trend probably acts as their own insurer. I think you can self insure in CA if you post a bond with the state and prove you have enough financial resources to cover whatever the state minimums are.
I mean yeah it does. Ik if that was one of my buddies Id be right out there makin sure they’re alright. A lot of crashes like that don’t look too bad but when its you in that car its much more jarring
@@atomicbogator6799 Not true. I know quite a few people in Cali that built trikes with special construction titles. California is the land of special construct vehicles and without it people like George Barris and Gene Winfield would have been out of business.
This is my favorite episode by far! Pavement late model, early 70's Monte Carlo body and dirt oval. Not a huge fan of the way they did the roof, but it's the best way to do it to make it not look stupid. Also I love the dirt oval part because I race dirt oval. (Open wheel dirt oval, but still dirt oval.)
+likenem I am near certain "setup for ovals" means an asymmetrical suspension setup that makes left turns easier, and a "road course setup" just means symmetrical. The only true right turn a stock car should have to make is exiting its pit box, and it doesn't need to handle perfectly to do that.
@@GamePlayWithNolan maybe way back then, but now you have to get the VIN inspected at the DMV before they'll let you register it. I imagine they're pretty good at spotting altered VINs.
I want to see this again that is outstanding a street legal dirt car that's the most amazing wonderful thing have a piece of the track in your street car great video love it
Reminder to please fix it and make it better! This is the most beautiful ugly legend of a car you guys ever build. I come back to this video once in a while in sweet memory.
That (was/is) the best looking car from roadkill !
Personally I prefer the mayham

+DriftTek Mayhem has it's own look but comparing it to the Nascarlo it's just a stock body with some roadkill fixes and Nascarlo on the other hand is a full on Roadkill design car. So I would say that Nascarlo is the best looking car they have built in Roadkill yet and not just fixed car.
I'm very happy the ball joint didn't snap while on the freeway and that you're safe Freiberger.
+Johnny Frost Might of been joining the dog !!!
+Johnny Frost Agreed. But it was probably under way more stress on the clay oval which was the bigger factor in it breaking.
+What's Will Doing there's much less grip on clay than there is on asphalt. One emergency manoeuvre or a big pothole and the ball joint would have experienced much more stress than on the oval.

the best part is as someone who has seen this episode upwards of 12- 16 ish times over the years is that dave knows this car was set up for road racing which means it is waAAAYYY off for running ovals and then add dirt into the equation he is still shocked that it hit the wall lmao. true roadkill 🤘🤘🤞 i miss having a motortrend account
it hit the wall cuz the baljoint popped out ,the right wheel could not spin plus the quarter pannel dug into the ground xd
got nothing to do with it not being setup for ovals and that being said you can drive ovals without a setup, the setup sure gives some mroe grip but mostly decreases tirewear xd
this is so ridiculous, i love it.

When you end up with a constant chuckle watching, you know it's good.
I really respect guys that drive on dirt, that's alot of skill
there problem is, they dont check or replace parts. i doubt they change the oil..
the lowerballjoint popped out wich buried the wheel in the wheelwell unabling it to spin there for its like having 100% brakes on 1 wheel of the car and due to it being low the quarter pannel also dug into the ground, not a single driver out there coulda saved that one
@@MrMuziekman ya I’ve had that happen before. Thankfully mine kept going straight
Hittin the wall is all part of a dirt cars life and that is the nicest dirt car i have seen in a while
it's been a long time since this aired - why is this back now?
yes, i still do youtube searches hoping the guys will be back for good which is why i am here now.
why now, guys?
Bruh same
Motortrend tried to capitalize on roadkill by deleting all the episodes off youtube and only making them available on their paid streaming service. It is failing so I guess this is their response to try to get some views back.
@@benjaminshelton885 i figured as much i just didn't want to say they were view whoring. oops, i guess i just did...
i tried the motor trend route, but was not inspired to stay a subscriber.
yes, some of the shows are worth viewing but somehow roadkill changed after they left.
wait you guys are actually able to get insured? i guess your insurance company doesn't watch your show.
Lol
+Ashish Patel I guess the insurance is on Hot Rod Magazine and not on Roadkill Show.
+Ashish Patel Motor Trend probably acts as their own insurer. I think you can self insure in CA if you post a bond with the state and prove you have enough financial resources to cover whatever the state minimums are.
I thought it was a least technically possible to register the stock car as a kit car
+Daniel Maia No, kit cars carry the vin of whatever car they are built on I believe
I love there is Goodyear cup car tires on a late model, the only thing missing is a Dale Earnhardt Sr. paint job
Man this car is awesome you guys really gotta fix this thing. Even 8 years later I still love watching this thing slide around and it just looks cool.
When finegan ran to the car to make sure Frieberger was ok truly shoes their friendship
"shoes" ......... 🤣
I mean yeah it does. Ik if that was one of my buddies Id be right out there makin sure they’re alright. A lot of crashes like that don’t look too bad but when its you in that car its much more jarring
They should put an engine in a Tesla.
Duramax swap!
SideWayz Moose Yeah!
Onat Arı Hahaha. Thanks!
the should put the engine that was in the charger and duster and put it in the rotson!
Quincy Owyang haha. That'd be cool.
Of course you can have a VIN number. States issue them all the time for home built vehicles. I have two of them.
Not in cali
@@atomicbogator6799 Not true. I know quite a few people in Cali that built trikes with special construction titles. California is the land of special construct vehicles and without it people like George Barris and Gene Winfield would have been out of business.
This is possibly the most magnificent thing I've ever seen in my life
I still get sad at the end seeing the memorial of Mika the dog...
Now sit there for other 4 years!
Watch the 50th episode...
Thanks a lot for this info!!

Both mechanics, ones a nerd, the other shade tree; but together build some awesome machines!
Read that as an intro to an 80s action movie🤣
This is my favorite episode by far! Pavement late model, early 70's Monte Carlo body and dirt oval. Not a huge fan of the way they did the roof, but it's the best way to do it to make it not look stupid. Also I love the dirt oval part because I race dirt oval. (Open wheel dirt oval, but still dirt oval.)
I didn't realize stock cars literately could only turn one direction
They can turn both ways but have almost all the travel of steering to the left
Yeah
+likenem I am near certain "setup for ovals" means an asymmetrical suspension setup that makes left turns easier, and a "road course setup" just means symmetrical. The only true right turn a stock car should have to make is exiting its pit box, and it doesn't need to handle perfectly to do that.
*****
Yeah
No they can turn both ways. They are just heavily biased to one side making a opposite turn essentially useless.
Just how much of a car can you cut off and still use the VIN?
Cut the vin number off and place it on another car. Bam, new car, same VIN. They did that on the original gone in 60 seconds
A body swap is legal, a vin swap isnt.
@@GamePlayWithNolan maybe way back then, but now you have to get the VIN inspected at the DMV before they'll let you register it. I imagine they're pretty good at spotting altered VINs.
The VIN plate is the car, everything else is car parts
Wow Great job guy's, I really enjoyed watching! You made me smile and have a good chuckle or two. Thanks!
Hands down my favorite episode and project car. That thing was AWESOME

U hope the what wasn't important?
The air cleaner lid. They say what it is at 15:23.
when did the dog pass away?
+Jovana Miller Few weeks ago.
+Peter Grillett really??
YAS!?!? lol
+Peter Grillett So sad. She was a sweetheart. Loved seeing her in the videos...
I didn't know that the roadkill dog died!!!
Reminder to please fix it and make it better! This is the most beautiful ugly legend of a car you guys ever build. I come back to this video once in a while in sweet memory.
