A Reliable Finesse Swimbait for Tough Fishing Conditions (2.8" Keitech Swing Impact)

  • Downsizing to a finesse swimbait can be just what you need during a tough day of fishing. The 2.8" Keitech is something that I use all year long. It works great as a trailer or fished by itself on a small jig head. I broke out the keitech and finally started catching some numbers. You don't always catch the biggest fish on finesse lures. However, catching any fish is always going to be a win in my book. Thanks for watching feeshin friends!
    COMMENT BELOW and let me know if you use any Keitech swimbaits!

    The little rod Randizzle had on the truck bed was an Emmrod Pack Rod witht he 6 coil stainless rod end. I use one like that for trout fishing and it's awesome walking in the small creeks and even in the lakes. For Bass I use the Emmrod Kayak King which has a longer handle and I use either a 8 coil or 6 coil rod end. Largest fish I caught on one was a few weeks ago a 40" carp and my largest Bass this year was 19 1/2". Really a fun rod to fish with and just something different. I know it's getting into winter but if you wanted to test one I can send you one of mine to try out. Just add your favorite spinning real (I normally use a 2500 sized for bass) and your good to go.

    Nice vid as always Debo! I have a quick question related to that end there 😂. I recently replaced my top water rod with some new braid, just 50lb field and stream line. It looked like good line and was on sale so I snatched it up. I’ve been using it and for some reason have a problem getting backlashes right in the middle of my casts. It’s almost like the line is just coming out looser than my other lines as I’ve never had that problem before. I’ve watched your vids on reducing backlashes but it’s not working for some reason haha. Could it be that the line itself is no good or should I keep fiddling with my tension and brakes?

    • @DEBOSFishing
      @DEBOSFishing  5 років тому +1

      How heavy of lures are you using and what type of rod (power and action) do you have it on? What are the brakes set at and how tight is the spool tension?

    • @cameronpoulton9490
      @cameronpoulton9490 5 років тому +1

      DEBO'S Fishing I’ve fiddled with the brakes anywhere from halfway to max and the spool tension from loose to basically locked up. I was throwing a 1/4oz frog and a bigger buzzbait (3/4oz maybe not positive). I have it on a medium action 6’6 rod

    • @cameronpoulton9490
      @cameronpoulton9490 5 років тому +1

      DEBO'S Fishing never had problems before when I had monofilament line on it but the braid for some reason is giving me troubles haha

    • @cameronpoulton9490
      @cameronpoulton9490 5 років тому +1

      DEBO'S Fishing it’s more when I try to do longer casts, if I keep lower than 75% of my usual cast power I won’t get any but then I’m only casting like 25yards

    So how come you throw this on a baitcaster, but people say to throw ned rigs on spinning tackle? Its around the same weight for each, so whats the difference?

    • @johngosline7990
      @johngosline7990 5 років тому +1

      There are some companies that make magnum size ned heads, I know Nichols makes one that is 7/16oz which is pretty big for a ned head and being tungsten it’s still a small package. I bought a few this year and they’ve been great for throwing bigger worms and such in heavier cover, the weedless head is great

    • @DEBOSFishing
      @DEBOSFishing  5 років тому

      Really just boils down to preference. It can be a bit tricky to throw light lures on a baitcaster so the spinning rig is the way to go for a lot of folks. I still throw these on a spinning reel too. I just didn't have one with me. Thanks for watching!

  • @rustyshacklfur4705
    @rustyshacklfur4705 5 років тому +1

    How do you like that SLX rod? Im lookn at buying an slx, fury, Tatula or a zodias if it's worth the extra money. Just have to compare them all once I feel em all our. It's gonna have a Tatula on it, it would be funny to have a Tatula on a SLX but I'd rather have the Daiwa.

    • @johngosline7990
      @johngosline7990 5 років тому +1

      Rusty Shacklfur the slx is a solid rod for 100$ and probably every bit as good as the fury in some cases, just that the fury has a swimbait model where the slx doesn’t. If it was between the tatula and the zodias I would probably go zodias it’s just a lot more sensitive and that’s what you’d be paying for but that just my honest opinion.

    • @rustyshacklfur4705
      @rustyshacklfur4705 5 років тому +1

      @@johngosline7990Thanks, I need a decent all around 7 3 MH the thing I like about the fury is the 1/4-3/4 rating. It's shallow where I fish so I use alot of 1/4 and 5/16 jigs

    • @DEBOSFishing
      @DEBOSFishing  5 років тому

      I like it a lot so far. Only tossed frogs with it so I need to put a different reel on and test it with jigs or Texas rigs soon. Hard to tell the different sensitivity levels between rods unless you have all similar modes to try side by side.

    • @rustyshacklfur4705
      @rustyshacklfur4705 5 років тому +1

      @@DEBOSFishing Thanks, I've heard good things about it. Alot of people love the fury but there's a good amount that say it's somewhat unbalanced and the sensitivity isnt that great. The only complaint of the slx is a thin grip which doesn't bother me. I gotta replace alota tackle before fall, and I wanna grab a levante along with a casting combo. I was gonna get a taty 100 and a zodias but I think it would be better to get an slx rod and put the 80 u save into the reel and get that SLX DC. Im not great with a baitcaster most of the fishn I do is finesse. The lakes around here are small shallow and heavily pressured so Shakey head, neko, DS, neds, small keitechs and jerkbaits is what do the most and I do well. I yo yo TN60s and throw jigs and chatterbaits the most from mid Winter to mid spring. So basically I could get away with a weak baitcasting game lol.

    • @johngosline7990
      @johngosline7990 5 років тому +1

      Rusty Shacklfur for the money the dobyns colt 7’3 is very solid and has a 1/4-1 oz rating and is a steal at $80, also Shimano is getting rid of the Exage models for the same price as the colt, the 7’2 MH and the 7’4 MH mod are fantastic rods, Exage may be a hair more sensitive but they’re very close in terms of performance

      Define cheap. Daiwa fuego ct is a great reel especially if you can get them around 60-70 dollars on sale or on eBay . Aluminum frame, super smooth. I don’t like graphite framed baitcast reels, but people like the abu black max. I think it feels cheap and plasticky, but people say it works for them.
