Geez, those 7 stars throw some light out! I put FlyLEDs Quad's in my RV-6 with one in each wing with the wig-wag module and let me tell you, I hear more about those lights and how visible they are even in the day when I'm coming in than anything else on the plane. Like you said, the night landings are more like day landings. I liked assembling the lights too, was kinda fun. Thanks for you videos Vic, always love your content.
which mixture cable are you talking about? All of the engine controls on my RV10 are high quality ones with threaded ends and rod end bearings, the same as any twist control.
@@baselegaviation1614 it was the one that looks like a piece of welding wire like the one shown in your video. Briggs and Stratton lawn mower set up basically.
Where are your front seats from? Beautiful!! I would like to put them in a Zenith Cruzer. I would like to heat them and use 5 point harnesses with lockable shoulder inertia reels. Beautiful work!
The airworthiness cert has nothing to do with IFR. It is specified in the operating limitations that night and IFR are permitted if properly equipped. if you older ops limits, it may have been omitted. just call the FSDO or a DAR and they can issue new ops limits.
This may be a never-ending debate, but I would like your input. You went from two side-by-side displays to centering the two displays in front of the front passengers? Why did you separate the two screens and now that you have a little bit of time on the new configuration, which do you like better; side-by-side or separated?
the 6600’s are bigger than the 5400s. Yes, I would like them both together but they are too big to be on the same side. Plus it would put the navigator GPS too far away. AeroSport products makes a nice panel that allows for a center screen, but I didn’t have the time or money to make that complete change right now. AFS has a really nice feature in that you can put the right screen in map mode and remote zoom it from the left screen. It works pretty cool.
You mentioned that you have a Tru Track autopilot, but I see a Dynon autopilot head in your new panel. Are you using the Dynon to command the Tru Track?
yes, the SV-APPANEL you noticed allows direct entry to the autopilot functions instead of having to use the screens. it also has me prepared for when/if the Trutrak fails I can just install the Dynon servos and be ready to go without having to cut a hole in the panel.

I recently installed the Taildragger Max version of the Seven Star lights on my RV 7. Absolutely love and highly recommend them.
Looks great! We’re using one of those Epson heat shrink labelers on our Zenith 801 project and I agree - it is the shizzle!!
Anywhere I can follow your project? What engine are you going with for the 801?
@@TheShays alas we don’t have a website. We bought a 2000-hour Lycoming O-320-H2AD off of a flying 172 that was upgrading to an O-360.
I have that same Epson label printer: love it!
Beautiful aircraft. I hope you enjoy the upgrades
Great job GO CAROL!!!!!!!!
I just had a mixture cable like that break 2 months ago at 10,500’!!! I went with a twist set up.

From the Syracuse basement. Thanks for the comments. I think Oregon Aero offers sheepskin seats.
good video presentation style
great panel but is it difficult to get the airworthiness cert updated for IFR operations?
No, simple

What door seals did you use?
I glued some foam around the door but not real happy with it and am going to try something different this time.
What's the schmoo all over the firewall there where the cables go through?
fireproof sealant.
@@baselegaviation1614 Ah, that makes sense. Part of a firewall pass through kit?
you can do it that way too. I just use grommets and sealant in some locations.
Where is your elt antenna mounted?
on the crossbar support for the rear seats in the right hand corner
Your order history for McMaster does not work for the window trim . It wants your password.
