Thanks for the compliment and the kind words. There are other.....retrospectives I may or may not have done if interested. I strive to improve each time.
What a great retrospective! I am totally with you on that feeling that I missed out when I was younger. I may have to go back and try these out now. I remember beating one back in my SNES days.
@@Nerdporeal I appreciate that! I hope that this does well for you, first and foremost! this was truly entertaining the entire time. seriously, you did a good job on this!
Only 500 views? That's criminal. This was an excellent retrospective. My favorite Metroid is definitely the Nes game. Moreso than Super Metroid, which I played a lot more as a teenager. I dislike playing Zero Mission. It seems like a way more linear experience on top of the game flow getting interrupted by the mandatory stealth section towards the end. That really breaks up the pacing of an otherwise good game.
I truly appreciate the kind words. The algorithm is weird about this. My Ocarina and Mario RPG retrospectives blew up a little months after the upload. Super Metroid is the GOAT imo. That's cool you like og Metroid though.
Tragically, this series has historically tanked in Japan and has done marginally well in the US, so the teams at Nintendo probably don't have the same drive into this series as they do Mario and Zelda.
43:35 I'ma be honest, the video was fine until this part, you're basically saying you don't know why it's called Metroid-Vania in the 1st place, and just acknowledges the Metroid part of the games because it's the easier one to notice, even tho a bunch of things in these kind of games were inspired by Symphony of the Night and later Castlevania entries
Thanks for the comment. Symphony of the Night, to me, simply drew from Super Metroid. RPG elements an exception. I love Symphony of the Night but it isnt really genre defining like Metroid was imo.

Thanks boss. Wanted to put something together that would do justice to your incredible remixes.
Brian, this is for sure your best video. Great production, great script, you may not have 1M subscribers but this work is superior to those who do.
This is one i really struggled with. I pushed myself to complete this one. Thankz dude. I'm glad you really enjoyed this one
Puh-uh-lease tell me this will become a series eventually 🙏🏼
Metroid being adapted or me doing further retrospectives for Metroid games? I will do more of the latter for sure
In so annoyed that great videos like this dont get recognition. UA-cam wake up.
Thank you very much. I hope you check out the rest of the channel

Yeah true. If there's no Mobile suits or Giant robots i guess. Not sure why it never took off in Japan.
never played Metroid but i liked learning the lore of the game.
Thanks Mark for driving this videos engagement. And for joining the continuum
13:01. You dropped it early.
