Yo! What’s your email! I actually got a file in work showing exactly this that I can send you. Basically it will likely be around $1300-$1600 (without the GoPro) or more depending on all the accessories and such. As far as the simulator, I used Liftoff when I started!
What accessories did you purchase for your goggles? I noticed you upgraded your atenna's, headband and you put a carbon fiber skin etc. Also what did you put around your joysticks on your remote? Does it help when you're flying?
My goggles have the iFlight strap and iFlight Crystal Patch Antennas with stubbies. No skin. The patch antenna is fake carbon fiber. As for my controller that is just a tpu 3D printed protection for the joy sticks. The patch antennas can provide better range and penetration but their are directional so it only helps if you keep them pointed toward the drone while flying.
th xfor this, just got this setup as my first fpv kit, def a little setup and syncing required vs pulling a skydio/dji out the box and ready to go... so the step by step would u did would have been a nice bit to include.
Thanks for watching and welcome to FPV! I tried to show as much as I could for the set up and all. I thought I hit most of it, but let me know what I may have missed so I can do better next time! ☺️
I can confirm the USB snapping off. Had to buy a new FC for one of mine. I bought a short micro USB connector that has a 90 degree end to connect to the FC to get rid of the supplied adapter. Had to trim the prop guard a little but works great!
Yeah!!! I popped her open and used some of the extra battery pad rubber to give it some support from the air unit. Seems to be fine now but kinda a big miss on iFlights part. They could have avoided that by sending the product to like one consumer prior to release haha
brother im about to buy this now but not sure which battery is the best choice? which one are you using? is it the same as the one you show at the begining or different?
Glad to hear it! So far I’ve only been flying with the one I showed. The 1550 mah 4s battery. If you are gonna buy the protek from iFlight directly, you should check out my affiliate link in the description ☺️
Awesome video and work ! Thanks for all the help provided with this ! As a FPV newbie, I struggle with some points. Just purchased a Protek35 HD with CaddxVista, DJI Goggles and TBS Tango II controler. Lucky me ^^ but as I go through the DJI assistant install process, it doesnt work because hoRNDIS isn't supported on my MacBook Pro (macOS Big Sur). Any tip ?
The USB-C port is super annoying on the protek35. I spent so long trying a few different cables, wiggling it various ways until it finally recognized it. :|
Yo! I got the protek35 in and I took it out for a LOS flight but seemed like the motors were spinning crazy fast but maybe it’s just that loud? And was curious about your setting in betaflight as far as Dshot600 goes! And great vid🙏🏻!
Hey! Its definitely super loud. Did you see my LOS flight? I haven't messed with my settings in BetaFlight but I can go back and take a look tonight/tomorrow and let you know.
Problem I had was a 90 degree board that was install at the manufacturer, the usb didn't make contact. I ripped it apart and took out the 90, now all is well.
No. I chose the DJI version with no additional receiver. If yours came With an FRSKY receiver then it was meant to be used with an FRSKY remote. You can remove it but you need to make sure all your vista wires are connected to the FC and then you need to enable a uart for the DJI remote if that’s what ur trying to do. I’d have to look up exactly how to do it but you the short answer is yes you can remove it or leave it but either way you need to change some settings in betaflight.
good evening I can not bind the mask with my protek 35 hd, I can not find the button on air unit, can you help me maybe with a photo thank you in advance Thierry
@@thierrygarrone2953 hey! Take another look through the video! I show how to bind everything starting at 5:26. You have to update the DJI air unit firmware, then bind. I show the bind process as well.
Well with the DJI FPV System it has a max range of 4km but that is not the case for this drone. The answer is that this does not go that far and it all depends on line of sight with the drone. I have actually had pretty bad range experience with this set up for some reason.
I bought mine separately but I think iFlight has some package deals with the goggles and controller or at least the controller. Check out the links in the description
@@LZRFPV thanks man, while I prefer protek 35, my thought is I will first get a remote controller n do some simulation practice, and only once I get a good flow then m thinking to get protek and goggle. So my remote controller should be compatible with the drone. Anyways thanks
Hmm. Do you have the HD version? It’s likely that’s your had the Caddx vista instead of the air unit like mine. However the bind button should be on the same side as the usb-c port of the vista. However… there is a 90 degree dongle connected to the usb-c port of the vista on that drone since it wouldn’t be accessible without taking it apart. Might have to look closely through the ducts and stuff
@@LZRFPV Have the HD version but I don’t see any button on the left side. If I understood correctly you have the same version, so I might be able to do it. Really struggling with this one 😂
@@juanileavy the older models came with a DJI air unit which is what mine has and the newer models come with a Caddx Vista (basically a lite air unit). If you hit me up on IG you can try to send some pictures and I can help. Did you find the usb-c plug in for the vista to get it activated and stuff?
Great video here @LZR_FPV ! Thanks for showing some raw flight and setup info 👍👍. Did you run hypetsmooth or RSGO on this? Thanks and keep up the good work!
Betaflight is the most popular software (firmware) that runs on the flight controller and controls/monitors everything about the drone. All HD iFlight Bind N Fly quads (and any other company BNF quads) that have the DJI air unit or Caddx vista with no additional reviver will connect to the DJI controller and goggles. You might be able to get away with no computer but iFlight pre-sets their quads to only allow horizon mode until you go into betaflight and configure the switches like I did. You also have to activate and update firmware on the air unit or vista from the computer.
Short answer is that it depends on which receiver you select when you buy the drone. This version has no additional receiver and is only compatible with the big DJI remote. However I could have chosen a different receiver and used a different controller. For example, crossfire is a very popular receiver protocol. And they have some controllers for that one. The TBS Tango and others.
This is one of the best real-life/real-usage reviews! Also the quality of the video is perfect! I've seen a lot of GoPro videos that supposed to be "amazing" but the settings were very shitty and at the end their video sucks. This one is amazing!! Probably it was also compressed for UA-cam in the video editing software - I don't see any UA-cam compression issues! BTW, I loved the part at 5:55 "I guess I should take the props off, but..." :D :D
I fully agree with you. This so called "top notch" video quality that is being shown is usually just the totally shit. This here is awesome and makes me want to achieve the same.
This is the best starter guide i have seen so far! thanks alot for the information but i do have some questions.. Does the protek35 comes with the DJI air unit built in (seemed like it was inside when u did the unboxing)? Just to clarify what i need to have in-order to fly :) 1x DJI goggles 1x DJI fpv controller 1x DJI air unit 1x Protek35 + battery 1x Beta flight software and do u mind sharing the exact protek35 purchase options u chose for this video? T.I.A
Hey dude! I am so glad you liked the video! If this is your first FPV Drone, I would highly highly recommend you get a Simulator like Liftoff or DRL so you don't crash and break the drone on day one haha...So the ProTek35 originally came with the DJI Air Unit, but for a while its been coming with a Caddx Vista (which is essentially the same thing, just made by another company and has less heat dissipation). I have the vista in many of my other quads, no problem. Your list looks good, but add a few things.1 - The DJI Assistant 2 FPV Software. Google it and install. Thats what I used to Activate/Update Firmware on the Air Unit/Vista. 2 - Get yourself a basic toolkit with tools needed for drones. The NewBeeDrone Toolkit is a great option, but if you already have most of the tools or want to get them separately, feel free. 3 - Get a Lipo Battery Charger. I started with the basic ISDT 608AC and have since then bought a second (the ToolKitRC M6DAC). 4 - Study a ton on how to properly charge, discharge, and store LiPo batteries. As far as the specific version I purchased, I got the ProTek 35 HD Black, 4S Version, No Additional Reciever (DJI Version). Depending on your goals, you may want the 6s version. You will get a little longer flight time and more speed, but the batteries are a bit more expensive. If you are going to end up getting a 5” Frestyle drone or something more then you can likely use the same batteries for that as well if you get the same battery version. Here is a good link if you want to buy it all from iFlight directly. This is the Drone & Goggles, and you can add on a Controller and LiPos in the options. shop.iflight-rc.com/ProTek35-HD-CineWhoop-with-Caddx-Polar-Vista-Digital-HD-System-DJI-Goggles-V2pro1556?tracking=LZRFPV

Thank you. I’m like a total noob, I’ve only recently tried sim. And I wanted one that has a prop guard. But maybe big enough to be outside (micro I think is too small but that’s also ok for me, esp indoors)

Hi guys @lzr_fpv great video, thank you. I have one stupid problem: for some reason I really cannot locate the pairing button on the drone. I have watched that section in your video for over 20 times already but I cannot locate it - also, your hand is slightly in front of it on the video so I dont see it in detail. Any pointers would be MUCH appreciated, I cannot wait to fly this thing. Thx in advance!
Hey! So first thing, make sure you have the digital version. If you do, then yours might have come with a vista instead of an air unit. They started making them with vistas after I got mine. However the bing button for the vista will be on the same side as the usb-c plug. However (again), they may have an adapter coming off the vista for access. You may have to take the top off to find it. Feel free to reach out on IG if you are still struggling and send me pictures. I havnt seen the vista placement in person.
hey I own a Protek 35 HD as well but I can't get dshot 600 to work properly. When I switch to dshot 600 my protek 35 won't arm itself. Can you show me you configuration settings?
@@LZRFPV yes please thank you so much for your reply! My instagram is @dansmikko . Really want to get my protek 35 flying but weird that it wont run on dshot600
For the exact one in my video, the DJI goggles are the only ones. But this drone comes in analog versions as well and in that case you should be able to use most analog goggles. The analog version is also cheaper
@@LZRFPVThanks for such a quick response, I just have two more questions is it harder to connect the analog goggles to the protek 35 (analog edition)? Also is there a limit to what transmitters are compatible with the protek 35?
@@seel1823 Umm I would say that the DJI Goggles and big DJI Remote that I have are the easiest to bind and all, but others usually aren't much harder. There are just separate locations on the drone for the goggle receiver and the controller receiver. So you have two buttons to press instead of one. Also, sometimes you have to install your own Controller receiver. Just depends where you get it from and what version they are selling. Crossfire is a popular radio receiver. Many people fly with the DJI goggles and a Crossfire controller and receiver (in drone). Hope that helped. I don't have the most first hand experience with analog
Hey - I got the Protek35 HD for DJI FPV/Controller - but I do not have any sticker showing exactly where the link button is on mine. Could you maybe take an image of that or do a close-up video? Mine seems like maybe they messed it up and did not include the appropriate parts but I'm not sure...
Hey! You might have the Caddx vista version instead of the DJI air unit version. I’m not sure when but they started using the vista instead of the air unit. Does it’s have one antenna on the back? That’s a good indicator that it’s a vista. The bind button should be a tiny black dot on the same side as the USB C port. If you still can’t find it shoot me a DM on Instagram (LZR_FPV) and I’ll snag a picture of one of my other drones that has a vista.
@@LZRFPV Hey, thanks for the quick reply. Definitely is the Vista version. I was able to find it a few minutes ago using another video as a reference - quite a pain to get to, especially with a battery on top - but all is working! Thanks for the tips.
Thanks for the video. Quality in storytelling and image is also very great. The only thing I could not follow is the settings you have made in the betaflight. In fact... I have no idea what the hell you did. Any explanation or a follow up video is highly appreciated. Moreover, as a beginner I am hesitating between the bumblebee v3 and the protek35; any thoughts for comparison?
Thanks for the comment! Umm I could maybe make a follow up video when I set up my next drone. Since I’ll be doing that from scratch it may be better to make an entire video focused on BetaFlight. As far as the protek vs bumblebee, I would say it depends on ur flying style. The bumblebee will fly more stable/slow and the protek will fly faster and be more agile. That’s not to say you couldn’t fly them the same, but each has its own strength. I love 5” drones and speed, so the protek is the perfect combo of cinewhoop/race drone
I did not have to install a receiver. I ordered the DJI version which doesn’t need an extra receiver. They also sell this with crossfire and FRSKY and probably ELRS soon. When you order the drone you get to choose, so just match it up with your transmitter. I use the DJI controller so I just need the air unit or vista for connection.
Hey Bro, thanks for the sharing of this amazing video. I am a new fpv user and own already fpv dji drone. As next I want to purchase a iFlight Protek35 using my dji goggles and controller (this is one is the 2. generation and is different to yours). Is it possible? What configuration of iFlight (receiver, etc.) do I need to by? Thanks a lot, Cheers, Basil
Hey there! So the controller for the DJI FPV Drone will not work with any other FPV Drones. You will need a new controller. You have a few different controller options for your Protek35 HD. You can either get the DJI Controller (like the one I have in this video) or you can get any other controller (like a TBS Tango or Radiomaster Tx16). The differences are that the DJI Controller will connect directly to the DJI Air Unit or Caddx Vista system (just like the goggles). If you go with a different controller it will run a different radio protocol (for example: the TBS Tango 2 runs Crossfire). In that case, you would need to get the Protek35 with the appropriate receiver (Crossfire or whatever other protocol you get). The DJI Controller is great and easy to use since it requires no extra receiver int he drone, but the TBS Tango 2 is a smaller form factor and Crossfire technically has better range and penetration (although you may not notice). Phew that was a lot. I hope it makes sense! Let me know if you have any questions. Also, check out my Protek35 links in the description. iFlight is having a sale right now!
@@LZRFPV thank a lot for the quick replay. Another question - can I free decide what battery I take - 4s or 6s; or are there some technical specifications / restrictions ?
@@hochzeitsvideografmunchenb5899 that’s totally up to you! The main (usually only) difference between a 4s quad and a 6s quad are the motor kv (sort of like rpm). You can choose whatever you’re ant but make sure you buy the 4s batteries if you get a 4s quad or 6s batteries if you get a 6s quad. I think the iFlight website shows the recommended batteries for each version.
@@hochzeitsvideografmunchenb5899 6s will give you slightly more/longer full throttle spurts and potentially a bit more flight time, but 6s batteries are more expensive and bigger. They also may sag more toward the end of the flight.

@@kernzilla yeah I saw that video! Insanely quiet! I think iFlight is working on a 5 blade version of the 3.5 inch bullnose that come stock. So those would for sure help a bit and bet the right size
Hey! Thanks for watching! You are gonna love yours! As far as flying indoors, I’d say get a small cinewhoop, maybe a pusher. But if you want to fly this indoors, make sure you disable air mode so that if you bump into a wall it doesn’t suck you into the wall. The Protek35 has a lot of power and it gets blown around by its own wind turbulence so you can’t fly it too slow if ur flying indoors or it’ll bounce around and be very hard to control
@@LZRFPV what drone would you get to specifically fly indoors? I want to add to my real estate offering. I currently use my sony A73 with a Zhyiun Crane 2. Just got my protek35 looks amazing trying to take props off with 8mm ratchet wrench but having difficulty getting them off don't want to put to much force into it. Have u tried to take props off?
Yeah I have taken the props off once. Its not the easiest thing since the ducts get in the way of getting a good grip in the motor. You could try a motor grip tool. I personally dont have one but they look like they help a ton. In addition, I have experience issues with iFlight motors nuts stripping very easily and becoming near impossible to take off. The way I got them off after that happened was by flying a full battery and then removing the nut while the motors were a bit warm. Helped loosen it up a bit.
@@LZRFPV ok Cheers man wouldn't want that to happen. I was looking a ethix prop tool don't know if u have seen it but looks a lot better than a rachet wrench?!

Hey! I have been using a 1550 mah 4s Tattu R-Line battery mostly. With the GoPro and some medium speed flying, I am only seeing 2-3 minutes. Without the GoPro its closer to 4-5 minutes, but I think I baby my batteries a bit also.
How much flight time do you get with it? I have mine just for couple of days and flight time with 4S 1500mA/100C lasted about 3.5 minutes and this is not with GoPro attached...so far disappointing. When I flew for 4minutes I had less than 10% battery left. Is your setup with Dshot300?
Oh man. How fast were you flying? I do not expect to get more than 3-4 minutes flight time on any drone unless set up for Long Range (which I have no experience with). I'll have to check on the DShot300. I may also do some test flights/videos about flight time and range. Ive seen many people saying flight time and range are on the shorter end of what it should be.

@@lee8org yeah. Gotta keep in mind that those are 100% perfect conditions most likely. The max speed is probably with the prop guards off as well. But agree it’s misleading
Give it throttle ☺️. Have you flown FPV before? If you let go of throttle the drone will fall out of the sky. So give it throttle to go up if ur quad is level, but it will not stay level.
Great video man! I'm running into an issue where DJI Assistant 2 (fpv series) won't recognize my Protek35 for that initial setup. I know it's not a USN-C cable issue because it recognizes my goggles and remote - and i'm making sure that the battery is connected. Any ideas? Has anyone run into this issue before? I'm running this on a MacOS 12 (Monterrey).
Does your drone have the full size air unit like mine or the smaller vista? If it has the vista, I think it’ll have an adapter on the vista to help you reach it without taking it apart. Try removing that adapter and plugging directly into the vista. Also, I have seen issues with the cable where it’ll work for goggles and remote but not the vista (not sure why).
@@LZRFPV DUDE YOU'RE A LIFE SAVER!!!!! i took it apart and removed the stupid little usb-c adapter to plug in directly to the vista and it worked!!!! THank you so much!!!!!
When I pair my DJI Radio to the FPV it works in BetaFlight but it disconnects every 15-20 seconds, is this normal? Also when I feather the sticks the FPV preview spins out of control, is that also normal?
Try using a different cable for the flight controller and just keep trying to get betaflight to hold steady. It shouldn’t do that but it’s happened to me. Also, the little preview is doing what your drone will do when you are flying in full acro. Gotta be very gentle with the controls.
@@LZRFPV Awesome managed to get them connected, but I'm not sure what firmware to run? Not sure if that's an issue or not? Nonetheless the quad doesn't fly for some reason. Any insight here?
@@quorumgroup The DJI Air Unit is not the same as the iFlight_F745_AI_V2. That is the Flight Controller. However your DJI Air Unit Firmware should not matter for the FC as long as your goggles are running a compatible firmware. Did you flash your Flight Controller or Reset it or anything? @@JuanMoreno-wp1hg yeah they updated it so it now comes with a Caddx vista (which is basically a lite version of the air unit that I had). Set up and process is all identical.
So I don’t think the battery type matters as much the actual drone. For example, I would recommend a 5” freestyle drone for flying in wind over any ducted cinewhoop. The wind just blows the cinewhoop around regardless of the battery. But if I had to pick, I’d say 6s
Technically you don’t need to do anything in betaflight for this drone. I showed the entire set up in betaflight in the video and all I did was set my modes/switches how I liked them and so I could fly in acro mode. If you follow it exactly it’s cake. Flying it is no harder than flying any other FPV drone. FPV drones are hard to fly regardless but if you can fly a sim you can fly this. It’s very stable in the air but again stability is all about how good you are at flying FPV. Hope that helps!
If you got the HD version yes. The old ones came with a DJI air unit but I think the new ones come with a Caddx vista. That connection should be through the sides but the Flight Controller connection is under the bottom side and it might be micro usb. If you got an analog version you won’t have the vista or air unit

I have already connected all the stuff together but when I connect the drone to my Mac in Betaflight I don't see any stick movement and switch movements. Does anyone have any ideas? In the googles I see a picture of the camera and everything else is connected correctly and glows green.
Hmm could be a handful of things. Let see. Are you 100% sure there is not an additional receiver on the quad (like crossfire)? Did you activate and update firmware on the air unit? Is the battery plugged in when you are checking the receiver tab in BetaFlight? What is the UART configuration in the Ports tab?
@@leon-buttter_kuchen Thats the issue. Your drone is configured to connect to a crossfire receiver. Mine does not have crossfire. You have two options. You can purchase a crossfire controller or you can re-set up the UARTS in the port tab to tell it to stop using the crossfire receiver. That might require it to be de-soldered, but I am not 100% sure. Check out this video and see the comments. This guy added crossfire to his quad that was already using a DJI Air Unit. So you kinda need to reverse engineer this. ua-cam.com/video/1OS15IRDVq4/v-deo.html

Hey! We’re you able to change the angle mode range in betaflight like I do at 8:40? The quad comes with the entire range set to angle mode but if you change the range then it should be acro mode when your switch isn’t in the angle mode range. Does that make sense? See the screen at 10:04. Angle mode is set to the bottom portion of the bar and top range is blank. When my six 2 switch which is front left on DJI controller is in the middle or toward me it’s acro mode.

Are you sure you are connecting to the Vista or Air Unit and not the Flight Controller? The FC goes to BetaFlight and the Vista/Air Unit goes to DJI. If you have that right, try taking the drone apart slightly (maybe just top plate) and remove the dongle on the Vista. They have to connect directly to the Vista or Air Unit.
@@LZRFPV 👀 gotta be honest I didn't know which was which since it's not written on it. But yes I have it correct. Yo! What’s your email! I actually got a file in work showing exactly this that I can send you. Basically it will likely be around $1300-$1600 (without the GoPro) or more depending on all the accessories and such. As far as the simulator, I used Liftoff when I started!

Awesome! Glad I could help

The USB-C port is super annoying on the protek35. I spent so long trying a few different cables, wiggling it various ways until it finally recognized it. :|
Hey bro! Wanted to ask you how your experience has been so far with your drone
Did your drone come with a frsky receiver that had to be removed or could you leave it hooked up?
No. I chose the DJI version with no additional receiver. If yours came
With an FRSKY receiver then it was meant to be used with an FRSKY remote.

@@LZRFPV thank's
Wow very cool bro! May I ask if whats the max distance and altitude of that? Thanks!

Amazing video! Really appreciated, but I can't figure out where the link button is, any recommendation on how to find it?
Hmm. Do you have the HD version? It’s likely that’s your had the Caddx vista instead of the air unit like mine. However the bind button should be on the same side as the usb-c port of the vista. Yes, absolutely. Reelsteady go!
Can you explain betaflight and does all iflight quads auto link to dji controller Without having a computer?
Betaflight is the most popular software (firmware) that runs on the flight controller and controls/monitors everything about the drone. All HD iFlight Bind N Fly quads (and any other company BNF quads) that have the DJI air unit or Caddx vista with no additional reviver will connect to the DJI controller and goggles. You might be able to get away with no computer but iFlight pre-sets their quads to only allow horizon mode until you go into betaflight and configure the switches like I did. You also have to activate and update firmware on the air unit or vista from the computer.
Ahh can't wait to get my own!
Fantastic video!
Thank you! That means a lot!
And which remote controller is most compatible with it? what is yours ?
Thank you very much! That really means a lot!

Hey! You might have the Caddx vista version instead of the DJI air unit version. I’m not sure when but they started using the vista instead of the air unit. Does it’s have one antenna on the back?
Did you have to install a receiver or does it come with a receiver and which transmitters will work with this drone?
I did not have to install a receiver. I ordered the DJI version which doesn’t need an extra receiver. They also sell this with crossfire and FRSKY and probably ELRS soon. When you order the drone you get to choose, so just match it up with your transmitter. I use the DJI controller so I just need the air unit or vista for connection.
Hey Bro,
thanks for the sharing of this amazing video. I am a new fpv user and own already fpv dji drone. As next I want to purchase a iFlight Protek35 using my dji goggles and controller (this is one is the 2. generation and is different to yours). Is it possible? What configuration of iFlight (receiver, etc.) do I need to by?
Thanks a lot,
Cheers,

@@hochzeitsvideografmunchenb5899 that’s totally up to you! The main (usually only) difference between a 4s quad and a 6s quad are the motor kv (sort of like rpm).

Where did you buy this from and was it a BNF version or did you build it? If it was a BNF, you should be able to contact iFlight or the retailer you bought from with the issue (as long as you didn't do anything with the flight controller).
@@LZRFPV I managed to factory reset the air unit and everything paired nicely. The remote and air unit still unpair sometimes but yeah I purchased it from iFlight and the customer support was pretty bad. They claimed there's no refunds and all their links for support are dead-ends in my case. They offered to have a paid video chat to help in which I might have to do ridiculously enough..
My new issue is the remote sensitivity on the remote configuration- the preview is spinning out of control and when I managed to arm and launch the quad it spun out of control and disarmed.. haven't found a solution to this yet but it seems to be the controller sensitivity as I manage to hold the sticks in a certain spot but when I feather it over a hair it spins outta control lol.. Have you experienced this?
@@quorumgroup I've had that issue with a cheap BetaFPV controller, but I assume you are using the DJI Remote? What does it show in the Receiver tab. Do all the sticks adjust appropriately? Or is the configuration maybe off.
Did it come with those 2 antennas? Mine only has 1 coming out of the back and there’s nothing extra in the box. Just curious!
Yes. The DJI HD version comes its two. The vista or analog versions come with one. I bet yours came with a caddx vista. Pretty identical
@@LZRFPV Mine has 1 antena and says caddx polar, what does that mean?
@@JuanMoreno-wp1hg yeah they updated it so it now comes with a Caddx vista (which is basically a lite version of the air unit that I had). Set up and process is all identical.
Do you recommend a 4s or 6s for windy flying
So I don’t think the battery type matters as much the actual drone. For example, I would recommend a 5” freestyle drone for flying in wind over any ducted cinewhoop. The wind just blows the cinewhoop around regardless of the battery. But if I had to pick, I’d say 6s
Setp up In Betaflight for this drone is easy? How is the flight easy? Stable in air?
Technically you don’t need to do anything in betaflight for this drone. I showed the entire set up in betaflight in the video and all I did was set my modes/switches how I liked them and so I could fly in acro mode. If you follow it exactly it’s cake. Flying it is no harder than flying any other FPV drone. FPV drones are hard to fly regardless but if you can fly a sim you can fly this. It’s very stable in the air but again stability is all about how good you are at flying FPV. Hope that helps!
does it have an xt60 or xt30 connector for the battery?
Xt60
Do all Iflight Protek 35's have USB C ports? I just got one and I can't find it anywhere..
If you got the HD version yes. The old ones came with a DJI air unit but I think the new ones come with a Caddx vista. That connection should be through the sides but the Flight Controller connection is under the bottom side and it might be micro usb. If you got an analog version you won’t have the vista or air unit
@@LZRFPV Cool thanks for the info!
@@nathansnature you bet! Feel free to ask any other questions! Instagram DMs might be best
Hey i have a problem and i have the protek35 with the dji air unit and use the dji controller and googles.
@@LZRFPV the battery is pluget in. And i have a Cross Fire Receiver in the drone its the Same Drohne than you have in your Video
So you kinda need to reverse engineer this. ua-cam.com/video/1OS15IRDVq4/v-deo.html
its kinda hard to explain exactly how to set up the stuff in betaflight, but it shouldn't require any solding or de-soldering.
How loud is the Protek35 compared to your Nazgul?
I’d say close to twice as loud. It’s a different kind of loud. The Nazgul is a deeper smoother tone and the protek is a higher pitch piercing tone haha.
@@LZRFPV The Protek35 is twice as loud!? :O
@@FineVisionz okay maybe only when hovering. The Nazgul can be pretty loud at full throttle but yeah it’s just a different kind of loud. It’s more piercing
@@LZRFPV Ahh, I see! Thanks :)
Hi if I have the dji air unit then do I need a GoPro on it or will the dji record 1080
Hi there! If you put and SD card in the air unit and set it up to record, it will record 1080p video, but it’s not stabilized. It’s a very crisp and clean video though obviously with no props on view or anything
Does the battery come with it and what fpv googles do I need
Hey! No the batteries do not come with it. Also, the goggles for this Protek35 HD is the DJI FPV goggles. But you can get an analog version of this drone if you wanted. Do you fly FPV already?
@@LZRFPV hi. No I don't. I don't think I want the €1400 dji fpv drone so I'm going for this one instead and wondering what I need to get started.
I've had few dji drones before but not fpv
hey man! thanks for much for the video - i couldn't quite follow what you did in beta flight. I'm having the issue of when I fly the quad is locked in self level mode, can't seem to get it into acro. I flipped all the switches available on the DJI controller while flying and got nothing. Any tips? Appreciate it!
If that still doesn’t work you can send me some betaflight screenshots via Instagram @lzr_fpv and I can take a look.
@@LZRFPV really appreciate that help dude! I’ll try that and let you know, you’re the man

I want to buy one now!
In short, what is the fly time? thanks
3-5 minutes depending on weight and battery
I bought the Protek35 6S HD with DJI receiver built in, but when I go to bind the goggles (DJI Goggles V2) with it, nothing happens!
I made sure firmware is up to date on both.
I am in DJI FPV Air Unit Mode on the goggles.
Combing forums and posting where I can for solutions if anyone can help.
What firmware version. If you updated it then it’s expecting the new goggles 2 and DJI remote 2 I believe. You want the version below the newest. 608 or something. You can read it in the release notes

Just spent 10 minutes trying to find the USB C port on mine. Turns out you plug it in from the top (was concealed by battery strap)...
Hmmmm! Interesting! Do you have the HD version? Maybe they adjusted the layout. I know they now use the Caddx vista instead of air unit also
@@LZRFPV Yes, I did get the HD version (Caddx Vista) It has a weird little L adaptor for the USB C port so that it can be accessed vertically. The adaptor on mine was pretty janky though and I had to press on it with chopsticks to get it to connect/register on the PC
@@cwdgamedev1017 yeah those adapters can be trouble! Adds extra failure points! Glad you found it tho!

Will it be compatible with gopro hero 4?
yup! Absolutely. As long as you get a prong mount so it can screw into the existing mount. however I do not know how good or if there is ay stabilization on the hero 4.
Yeww absolutely loving mine edit: just subbed ive got a raw one pack flight I might put on public shortly
Love to see it!!!! I still gotta make an edit of the skateboard stuff I posted on Instagram
when I plug in it does not come up for DJI Assistant 2
Open her up and remove the adapter that is connected to the vista. I’ve been hearing tons of issues with that. It’s unfortunate
Having some USB issues when connecting to DJI assistant. It connects to betaflight but not DJI. I tried some USB drivers on one of bardwells video and impulse rc fix but none of those worked
I think it now comes with a 90 degree adapter so it can be accessed from the outside, but I have heard many people having issues with that not working. They have to connect directly to the Vista or Air Unit.
@@LZRFPV 👀 gotta be honest I didn't know which was which since it's not written on it. But yes I have it correct. Read the other comments and pulled it apart and plugged directly into the port and that didn't work either. Betaflight part of things is fine. The USB-C even with different cables isn't happening.

whats rates are using please?
So far all stock rates. I am soon going to change over to betaflight 4.3 and use the new preset released by iFlight. Not sure what changes they made though
I am not finding the bind button on the drone itself.
If you got your drone recently you probably have the version with the Caddx vista. It has a bind button on the same side as the usb c port for the vista. If ur looking at the usb c it’s just to the right and down a bit.
