    I've had six Jeeps. The last two have been Rubicons. Currently have my 2015 Hard Rock. I think Ford has done a Fantastic job here with the Bronco. I have put down a deposit on pre order for the Bronco Badlands. Well Done !!

      I'm also a Jeep guy but been waiting for this one cause I'm just a big offroading fan also. The bronco is beautiful and I like what I'm seeing so far but I'm curious about the turbo 2.3 and how that will affect torque that is needed immediately in offroad situations. Can't wait to see the side by side comparisons

      @Lloyd Bonafide You're absolutley right. To say I've been Rubicon Loyal is an understatement. Jeep HAS to come out with a V8 to keep sales up, at a minimum. I wheel once every two months, but the street ride is subpar with the Solid front axle. Liveable for sure, but a nice ride would be a welcomed change. It would be nice to have a more compliant ride on the street.The JL is a pretty big step forward from the JK, but this new Bronco is beautiful and can still do the rock crawling. People are so worried about the IFS, I'm not. For the extreme Rock crawlers, you can always do a SAS swap.

      @@1dumpedviper Fully built JK owner looking to upgrade and start building something newer. The wife will move into a Bronco, because I cant explain away how much better the options list and value is in the Bronco over the JL. Jeep has been the only game in town and the price to value just isn't there. For my own rig though, I just cant see going the IFS route. So literally for hardcore rock crawling, this is the only reason that I am staying with the Jeep. For 99% of the planet, this decision should be easy

The Bronco is beautiful and I'm sure will be stout offroad but a Jeep killer, as it's being touted, it is not. I see it as a comparable offroader just as the Tacoma TRD pro and the Colorado zr2 are. Those are amazing offroaders as well but def not Jeep killer's. A take on the 90's V8 Bronco would have really been the game changer here but they decided to go with a 4-banger turbo.

    • @sooperknob
      @sooperknob 4 роки тому +20

      Because they were...
      FCA has basically admitted the JL was primarily a "styling uipdate" to attract a younger audience. Let's be honest, there haven't been any big innovations on the Wrangler in decades. Hopefully the Bronco will finally light a fire under FCA's behind, so they put some legitimate engineering into the next Wrangler update.

    • @maxdominguez5543
      @maxdominguez5543 4 роки тому +8

      @@sooperknob Agreed, the JL is a JK with some fancy tech and rounder corners. And yeah there hasnt been big innovations on wrangler for a while but that's because they have spent the last half-century refining the best offroad design so that Ford can rip it off, lol. The JK has pretty much been perfected and every single issue with the JK has been ironed out with an upgraded part or workaround so I cant see a huge departure from the regular Jeep design. It looks like that fire under FCA has already been lit as theyre teasing the V8 Wrangler- this is truly game changing and will stomp the Bronco if FCA actually comes through on this.
      I realize my Jeep bias is showing but all that being said, I really like the Bronco's slick and stout design (even thought it looks like a Jeep), love the tech, love the GOAT modes, and really think ford hit the mark on the design and aesthetics.... shoulda put a V8 in it though.

    • @ponygt6629
      @ponygt6629 4 роки тому +15

      @Andrew Sully Well what statistics are you using to prove ur point?
      The ecoboosts are extremely successful engines. I am a hardcore V8 fan but Consumer Reports,JD Power survey,and a whole lot of 3rd party reliability surveys are out there and most of em are free, just go and check em out before jumping into a conclusion. Infact the Ford 3.5l ecoboost has been rated more reliable than a GM 6.2l V8 by CR and JD too says the Fords ecoboost engine reliability has been above industry average and on par with NA motors . The best part is since Ford has pushed ecoboost engines so much unlike any other US automaker (Ford is the only US automaker who got balls to sell over 66% of their product line up with turbos, GM is 48% and FCA is 40%) the supply chain is extremely strong and parts have got extremely cheap over time. A full turbo assembly replacement for a 2013 Ford Fusion 2.0 turbo costs just 1 day job and under 2000 USD considering VW costs around 2800;GM around 2500.

World wide ppl call SUV's JEEPs because Jeeps are the best. Good effort by Ford.. but I promise you that you'll see 100 Wranglers for every bronco you see. FCA builds 1200 Wranglers a day out of their Toledo Plant. There is NOTHING that comes on that Bronco that would make someone change from Jeep To Ford.. not happening. Rumors already coming out that Ford took the Bronco out to Moab and it broke down on Cliffhanger and SteelBender. I’m currently in a legal battle with the FCA over my 8 month old 2019 Wrangler. It’s been in the shop 8 times for the same electrical issue and they still haven’t been able to fix the problem. My current wrangler is a severe example and clearly a lemon and every manufacturer has bad apples. What really bothers me is I have purchased 3 new wranglers since 2000 ie a loyal customer. The FCA refuses to take the wrangler back under the lemon law even though it’s clearly the situation. My local dealer has even been confused WHY the FCA is fighting this. My local dealer knows they have lost my business over this and it’s unfortunate because they did nothing wrong. I hope you continue to have good success with your wrangler.

I’ve always wanted a Jeep (not one of their newer ones because of just their look I guess) I like the simple early to mid 2000s look, but now with Ford, a technology system I’m used to, I can happily say I will one day be getting one of these bad boys. My dream Jeep was a matte black Rubicon, but now my dream vehicle is this fantastic looking bronco!

    Absolutely love this all-new Bronco! Never have I seen a vehicle that was just universally accepted by nearly everyone and I am very impressed that Ford was able to keep that "retro" styling, yet incorporate so many modern amenities! Let's be real here, the Jeep is still the king and this vehicle has yet to prove it self, however, it does have a pretty good shot of dethroning the Wrangler JL. Furthermore, what I like so much about the Bronco is that it doesn't really look like a toy, it actually looks like something that is tough and rugged and I can't really say that about Jeep. Of course, the Jeep is a very capable vehicle, but I feel a bit feminine when I get in one. I feel like this is more to my taste! Furthmore, I feel like Jeep brought this on themself becuase they're were so many years that vehicle had absolutely no competition and I am very surprised that there were so few innovations to that vehicle when compared to the Bronco. When I look at the features on the new Bronco, they are setting a industry standard for what these vehicles should come with. Some of the features that I love are the rubber floors with a drain plug to hose out the interior, marine grade vinyl seating so you can actually get them wet, a first of its kind storage bin for the doors and a multi-piece hard top! (me and my girlfriend went to Puerto Rico for spring break and we rented a JL and you wouldn't believe how heavy that top is to take off and you literally cant store it anywhere...). It's nice to see that there are more options on the market now besides the Wrangler!

    •  4 роки тому

      Just be aware that Ford has a serious flaw in their automatic transmissions. You can't push it from Drive into Neutral with an open palm in an emergency. Rather, you have to push the shift lockout button on console shifters, lift the column shifter up, in order to get the transmission from Drive into Neutral. But then, you risk putting it directly into Reverse. Jeeps or Rams or other FCA products do not have this problem. Agreed on the innovation by Ford for the new Bronco!

Now take away the squach and the size and numbers tumble alot less than 9" of clearance and much smaller tires so there is that. Torque is God if it is naturally aspirated. Turbos do not do well with water. And I have had my jeeps over the hood in water with a 5" lift. No real issue besides having to change the air filter. You take water into the intake turbos and that thing just got real pricey. And the risk of a hydrolock aswell. If it has exhaust turbos then fine whatever. The bronco sounds like it puts more torque to the ground up until the IFS lifts a wheel and the lack of TWO tires pulling becomes apparent. Other than the lack of flex in the front suspension, they sound like they're on par with each other. The true test isn't on paper though; it's on the trail.

      It looks great. And they will carve out success, like the Toyota FJ did. That one was also supposed to dominate the sector too and beat the Wrangler. Jeep has something that is hard to understand and really doesn't make sense--brand loyality. So what keeps Jeep successful is the same thing that keeps H-D successful. It's hard to achieve that status, but hopefully their fate will be better than the FJ. These two could work to push each other so the customer gets the best vehicle possible, regardless of what they buy. Looking forward to seeing that.

    Would like to drive both before committing. I would expect the Bronco to drive better with the independent front end, but the Jeep may be better off-road with the live axle. I will be a question of which is the better trade-off, but I like how modern yet retro the Bronco looks. Jeep has had issues with the disconnecting sway bar - looks like the Bronco's is designed to activate under load! Would love to see GM bring out the Hummer H4X concept they had displayed before the demise of that brand and make this a three-way.

      I guarantee Jeep will go to an independent front end within 2-3 years. You don't want a solid "flex", you want free moving for better traction, better ride, and safer off roading. Jeep has graduated all their other SUV's to independent front suspensions. The Wrangler will be next.

Also seem to have forgotten to mention the Jeep’s solid front axel vs the Bronco’s independent front. Also, the JLs came out in 2018 and the aftermarket stuff is pretty rich. Going to take a year or two for Bronco aftermarket selections to catch up. Nice to see my mojoito rubicon up against the Broncos. They’re both awesome. Big thumbs up to ford.
