Kudos to the MotorTrend reviewers. Many people focus on dissing Jeep any chance they get, because that's the bandwagon thing to do. "It's just a Jeep" well... not sure if you've paid attention these modern Jeeps since FCA/Stellantis formed... They still hold true to the heritage and the rugged nature but genuinely offer such a good platform and are increasingly offering more luxury amenities. The 3.6 has proven reliable, the eco diesel is a excellent option. The turbo and hybrid are practical, and the 392 is ridiculous and that is awesome. It's still a Jeep and that's what we want. Options is the name of the game... You can get a base Wrangler with roll up windows and half doors, or now you can keep the wife happy with fine materials and and a mega sunroof basically. The new Bronco is incredible, but it's also making me realize Jeep raised the bar even without competition for the last few years.

The key significance of this video is that Motor Trend is the first mainstream publication that dares to say what many sort of knew, but every other media outlet has been scared to say publicly: as good as Bronco is, it is NOT a better off-road vehicle than Wrangler. Now watch a bunch of others media outlets do the same and start to state the obvious.
I feel similar. The Bronco has so many quality issues and the interior looks so cheap. The lack of a usable tach gauge is absurd too. I just can’t believe a brand new design resulted in such a basic/cheap looking plastic interior. It looks like an suv with a bare bones interior that happens to include a large screen. It’s also a bit bloated and much heavier than the wrangler. I don’t see these being as well engineered and the reviewers were right, the Bronco makes the wrangler interior look luxurious. I’ve driven a Bronco and a wrangler same day and the wrangler just felt so much more fun and appealing to me.
my though, to me yes they are both very similar but im curious to how they will hold, ford to me is the bottom of the barrel of reliability even if jeep isnt the best either its still way better than ford... but to me what kills it is wranglers are millions time better looking, the bronco is simply hideous, looks like a jeep renegade with hood bars. Im sure the bronco drives better on highway but to me its not enough to pay a premium and get a hideous bronco because yes its also way more pricey than the wrangler for the same comparables
this is objectively the worst review I have seen so far on the bronco VS wrangler. Literally 0 information, highest trim of Jeep VS a middling tier of the Bronco.
They didn’t talk about the lack of leg room for the driver in the Jeep. I’m 5’9 and I have long legs and I couldn’t straighten my legs all the way out.
i'm 6'2" and fit great in my 2022 Wrangler but it has Death Wobble at 8,900 miles. The Bronco will not get Death Wobble because it has independent front suspension
“Motor” Trend and they didn’t talk about the motor…or the transmission, suspension, off road tech…c’mon man. Obviously a couple Jeep fan boys, but I get that…I am one too but you gotta give Ford a little more credit here. Failed to mention the Bronco can option a bigger screen and wireless CarPlay, wash out floors and marine grade vinyl, 360° camera, the tailgate opens further…but don’t worry you have 6 tie downs (which they covered twice).
Ok se we’re going to knock on the bronco saying that hopefully you don’t take them off after shopping but where are you going to put them for the wrangler if putting them in the car isn’t an option at any point. Oh no my rear door on a bronco doesn’t swing open carelessly it has a nice feature… let’s nock it for that too since we have a soft spot for the Jeep. Can y’all make an unbiased video? And this isn’t me defending the bronco, I’m a GM guy I just hate how the video is so one sided when even I as a chevy fan can see that ford actually did good and in many ways beats the Jeep
Think both are solid, but right now Jeeps proven track record and huge aftermarket parts accessibility/affordability plus resale value is why I have 3 Jeeps
Was thinking the same but now hearing about Bronco’s poor build quality and major engine and transmission failures and recalls. Looking at Jeep until the next gen Bronco. Same quality concerns stopped me from looking at the new Explorer when it came out. You can’t fix Ford’s structural quality problem at the flick of a switch.
No mention of the current available accessories for the bronco. Or real pricing. The jeep aftermarket is crazy. It’s literally a lego vehicle. You can do what ever you want. How’s the highway cruising comparison. Nvh, power, torture, mileage, comfort, death wobble chances lol.
The company that puts a Diesel in first wins. Both are TOO WIDE. The TJ was outstanding, probably the best Jeep ever. Straight 6, Manual Transmission, and modern as 1997-2006. The Suzuki Jimny is what I’d love to see imported into the US.
I love and own a Rubicon JLU, it's bad@ss, I love everything about it. I do like the Bronco too and it looks cool. The competition benefits both wrangler and bronco owners. The Wrangler isn't for everyone though, it's more off road oriented which is why I love it and even driving it daily its amazing and fun. The Bronco is going to be more comfortable and easier to drive, for someone who's not going to off road much, the Bronco is going to suit you more.
Well you can likely buy a wrangler. And Ford tech is both exciting and terrifying. I had 13 recalls on my 2018 F150. I’m loving my 4xe so far. Bronco maybe in two years or so, after Ford improves the reliability that I suspect is not good.
@@landon5990 Jeep typically redesigns the Wrangler every 10 years. However, they do make some changes throughout those years. Using the JK as an example, the interior was updated in 2011 and the Pentastar V6 was introduced in 2012. So, given the history of the JK, I could imagine that Jeep would end up changing some things with the JL in the future.
I don't care about the cheap plastic The design look a lot better on the bronco.... But ifs very capable in trail Look Loren Haely doing the rubicon trail Can't not beat sasquash for 5k 35 inch tire and lock dif front and back and 4.7 dif gear ratio

One of the best breakdowns I’ve seen between the two, although I found the complaint about the mechanical transfer case lever and parking brake slightly comical. Bring on more off-roaders to compete with each other… Toyota and Nissan, what do you have to go against these two?
Even though the Bronco has the better looking interior, but the Wrangler is still the best vehicle of its kind, unless there's a G Wagen in the conversation.
Wrangler is been around so long that's why it's better I do like the faced that the bronco is around now but it will take them years to work out all the tweaks that need to be done
If you spend more time on roads unless you want to feel you are always correcting the steering, tiring on a long journey the Bronco with IRS front suspension makes it a better vehicle.
I ordered a bronco badlands Sasquatch with lux package. I have been in both and it's not even close anywhere except tough off-road obstacles. Bronco is a great tech machine that drives great and has much better seats comfort wise than the jeep. Jeep edges out the bronco on tough obstacles, but generally, the jeep won't be a 100% stock either (better tires).
Solid front axle vs independent? The Wrangler platform is probably a lot more modifiable than the Bronco, and not just because of the quantity of parts already available. For some reason the Wrangler just seems to have a more robust suspension than the Bronco, but what do I know? All I have is a Vette and a 79 CJ5 lol
Broncos may be good vehicles but, WW2 war horse runs through a Jeep plus they've endured over the years where bronco sales killed it. Jeep guy forever here.
Man I have a jk and I’m a Jeep lover. My dad got the new bronco and that new transmission is like butter. It’s so smooth and I could actually daily drive it. With that being said I love how much more raw the jk is. There’s a little bit of glory in some death wobble and cabin shaking

Those frameless windows are already leaking in my Bronco…and the wind noise is obnoxious. The hinge setup isn’t ideal for installs. The interior is equipped better in the Bronco but the plastics in the Bronco are circa 1980 verse circa 2000 in the Jeep. Ride quality, Ford all the way until it gets off camber.
Great job guys! I totally went into this video thinking the new Bronco was way better then the Wrangler in every way. After watching this I do agree with you. The Wrangler still has the off-road crown and is a little more refined (which is a weird thing to say about Wrangler) but the Bronco is close behind and give them a couple more years, they may just do it. But Ford has always been know for their cheap feeling interiors, so we'll see.

Easy answer. The Wrangler is better because of its engine choices.
Should've compare both top of the line models; Jeep Rubicon 4xe vs Bronco Sasquash edition.
If you want a faster Jeep than the Bronco get the 4xe. If you want a more capable Jeep get an Extreme Recon JL.
@@fasteddie5174 And if you want the best combination of capability and value instead of spending $60k, get a Base Bronco with Sasquatch.
You better throw the word Badlands in there because you can get the Sasquatch with the Basic Bronco, which has very little. Also, why would you compare a vehicle with electric with one with no electric? It won't be long before the Bronco comes out with an electric Hybrid.
@@TubeRLH do you work for Ford?? LOL
@@rediron44, No, but I will stand behind them when someone bashes them unjustly, just as I would when uninformed people bash other car makers. I know very little about the Toyota 4Runner and I don't bash the vehicle, only some of the people who drive them. So stay in your car and you won't get run over.😏
The key significance of this video is that Motor Trend is the first mainstream publication that dares to say what many sort of knew, but every other media outlet has been scared to say publicly: as good as Bronco is, it is NOT a better off-road vehicle than Wrangler.
I've owned two wranglers ... the back seats and even getting into the back is terrible
The bronco is cool but I also feel there is a ton of hype. The 2018 based JLs have much to offer still.
my though, to me yes they are both very similar but im curious to how they will hold, ford to me is the bottom of the barrel of reliability even if jeep isnt the best either its still way better than ford... but to me what kills it is wranglers are millions time better looking, the bronco is simply hideous, looks like a jeep renegade with hood bars. Im sure the bronco drives better on highway but to me its not enough to pay a premium and get a hideous bronco because yes its also way more pricey than the wrangler for the same comparables
Neither will leave pavement with the 1st owner/10 years, which is why there is zero talk about suspension, drive train or power plant.
Give me the Bronco!❤💪
this is objectively the worst review I have seen so far on the bronco VS wrangler.
The first shot is perfect to show IFSbvs solid axle. I'd still rather have IFS for all but the toughest trails.. and especially the street!
Great video !!!! Both vehicles are top performers!!!!
The wrangler is better for hitting the trails, the bronco is better for hitting the mall.
Love the Jeep but I'd go with the Bronco in a higher trim level. 💯
No mention of the current available accessories for the bronco. Or real pricing. The jeep aftermarket is crazy. It’s literally a lego vehicle. You can do what ever you want. How’s the highway cruising comparison. Nvh, power, torture, mileage, comfort, death wobble chances lol.
For a daily driver bronco
For off roading wrangler
I was so excited for the new Bronco, but after seeing that interior build quality…..I think ill stick with my Jeep
Next video: compare beards
A small media screen is not that great if trail driving at night. Less light inside, better visibility outside.
The 12" screen on the Ford Bronco dim to zero light as also functional on road trips at night to improve natural night vision.
Jeep 🔥
You guys crack me up with some of your obviously bias towards the wrangler benefits over the Bronco....So So obvious!
You said it. "the Wrangler benefits over the Bronco." It's not biased if it's true.
Well you can likely buy a wrangler. And Ford tech is both exciting and terrifying. I had 13 recalls on my 2018 F150. I’m loving my 4xe so far. Bronco maybe in two years or so, after Ford improves the reliability that I suspect is not good.
2 years jeep plans to refresh the wrangler so differently wait for that
@@landon5990 lol but that’s speculation. Not that it’s wrong, but knowing Jeep it could be 5 plus years
@@landon5990 Jeep typically redesigns the Wrangler every 10 years. However, they do make some changes throughout those years. Using the JK as an example, the interior was updated in 2011 and the Pentastar V6 was introduced in 2012.
So, given the history of the JK, I could imagine that Jeep would end up changing some things with the JL in the future.
Why didn’t use the sasquatch
Bronco's tires are just ridicolulos
Is Johnny a clone of Sean or is Sean a clone of Johnny?
No, just two fat guy's that grew a beard.
Pretty disappointed in the layout and quality of the Bronco not gonna lie.
Yea I can't stand the one I test drove, can't imagine having one, or after a year
Its nice to see the differences, Thanks Guys
Bronco is nice but I’m not parting with my JL Rubicon for it.
I test drove one to see if I wanted it and the build quality and material were worse than my 2013 jku so i just can't buy a bronco because of that
@@landon5990 I feel the same after viewing a demo model. Interior is no where near the quality of my JL. Typical cheap Ford plastic everywhere.
I don't care about the cheap plastic
The design look a lot better on the bronco....
But ifs very capable in trail
Look Loren Haely doing the rubicon trail
Can't not beat sasquash for 5k 35 inch tire and lock dif front and back and 4.7 dif gear ratio
Never beem a fan of chrysler product....
I bought durango 20 year ago.... the worst vehicle i ever bought i decide to never buy chrysler product after that....
Bronco vs jeep
Search Loren Healy rubicon trail
If the bronco can't do that trail easy....
I test bronco in moab trail Dome Plateau...
I wss convice the bronco way better then jeep ....
Toyota Celica anytime - Scotty K.
One of the best breakdowns I’ve seen between the two, although I found the complaint about the mechanical transfer case lever and parking brake slightly comical. Bring on more off-roaders to compete with each other… Toyota and Nissan, what do you have to go against these two?
I'm laughing at the complaint of the screen size. Like really?
Even though the Bronco has the better looking interior, but the Wrangler is still the best vehicle of its kind, unless there's a G Wagen in the conversation.
Which one can last to 300k miles with basic upkeep and maintenance?
I agree Wrangler all day!
There’s 2 handles on the bronco not one. One by the knee and one by the ac vent
A good way to tell when to shift is to listen
Jeep wins...hands down 🤚🏻
BRONCO CONS: 1. No Natural Aspirated Engine option.
2. The front windshield can not fold down.
3 independent suspension, better for paved road but not off road.
Jeep!!
Wrangler is been around so long that's why it's better I do like the faced that the bronco is around now but it will take them years to work out all the tweaks that need to be done
The bronco has been around since 1966, the wrangler started in 1986.
@@rossvanluven6533 chevy blazer been around since 1969, clearly the 2022 is just as capable
If you spend more time on roads unless you want to feel you are always correcting the steering, tiring on a long journey the Bronco with IRS front suspension makes it a better vehicle.
Well since I don’t consider going to target as an adventure I’d take the more capable wrangler any day of the week
❤JEEP❤
Ford and willy's made the original ww2 jeeps 😂
Smh this is freakin Motor Trend.
And you only got the Badlands to compare to a Rubicon?
Come on people other smaller channels like TFL Offroad and others have full comparisons with the Badlands with Sasquatch package and the Rubicon.
I like both the bronco is the best thing for jeep compilation they both have to keep improving stuff awesome
I love both, more biased towards the Jeep, but they really needed the competition. It’s great for innovation
Why jeep wins
Mopar performance offers dana 60 crate axles, crate hemi v8s and lift kits and other hardware straight from the factory so you can build an offroad beast if you like
I’ve owned the Gladiator Rubicon and Bronco Badlands. Both are awesome off-road. I call it a tie
Jeep!
Easy win for the Bronco
Arguing about silly silly stuff thats not even a down side about the Bronco but we got your point, jeep wins
One question Is on the wrangler on the right side next to the mirror what is that??
Next up on Motor Trend, we compare an F350 and a Mazda Miata.
They forgot about the tool kit they have in the bronco, and it has a pouch for the bolts, no need to open the back of the bronco, it's in the glove box
jeep has that also. wonder where ford got that idea 🤔
bronco was strugglinggggggg in that intro lmao
My dream car. I need a Jeep Rubicon
Awesome FAIR review. Prefer Wrangler though anyday.
Great content. Wrangler!
Bearded, beer bellied gurus… you guys need to get in shape!
