    Great idea. I was just at Lowes today! Should have picked up some of those light weight fence posts. I bank fish for catfish mostly, and I need a few of those rod holders. Thanks.

      @@tie1onoutdoors Just went to Ace and got those posts. Came home, bent them and attached the PVC holders I made. They look great. Thanks again for the idea.

    I did something similar. All I did different was to let the metal extend above the PVC so I could hammer the rod into really hard ground.

      I've ran into that issue only once so far when I fished a new area and luckily, I had a rubber mallet in the truck lol. Thanks for watching!

      I made something similar but only more ghetto. PVC pipe and short piece of rebar. Used lots of duct tape to tape the pipe to rebar. Left a couple inches of rebar at top so I could use hammer to pound it into ground. Works great!

    These are great thanks. But I have a lot of rocks on the shoreline under the grass I need to use a mallet this would be a problem so I think maybe I'll mount it lower on the post

    Good informative video, I’ll be looking to make something similar but need the stakes galvanized since it’s going to be for salt water. Currently use sand stakes I made of pvc but some beaches it’s hard to drive it down deep and on a big bite it goes down to the sand. Thanks again and HUA

    For some reason the holes don’t align with the upost I have. It must be a different one because it’s definitely from Lowe’s, and 3ft.

    Would this work in sand?

    • @tie1onoutdoors
      @tie1onoutdoors  3 місяці тому

      I'm sure it would if you put it down deep enough into the sand. I mainly use them for bank fishing lakes and rivers but never tried them at the beach.
