This is great and exactly what I was looking for and I’m gonna go ahead and build my own today. Thank you very much from San Antonio for a well-done video. Go Cowboys!
These commenters so critical! They haven’t priced rod holders lately and don’t use multiple I don’t guess. Thanks for the ideas man! Love the wine glass idea. I can do this for free with scrap I have.
Hey, the flare IMO helps with putting the rod back into the tube (widen) and it helps prevent handle damage. I have a few cork handles with noticeable damage from the edge of non flare tubes. Can you get away with no flare? Absolutely! But to me, the added effort added provides functionality and cleaner look.
Most Filipinos I know would not have to go to Home Depot to buy anything, they could build a kayak, rod holders and paddles with scraps lying around... ;)
Great job! I have been trying to find some to fit my baitcasters and it looks like yours work great. Do you have 4 black ones you would be interested in selling?
Instead of wasting time, effort and energy on the notch and flared ends, why not just use Fernco fittings on the ends, and cut the notch with a razor blade for the reel stem. Theyre made of rubber and easily cuttable. I use Ferncos on all the rod holders of my aluminum cooler rack on my truck. Held up for over 15 years so far. Yes, they cost extra, but they're only like $4-$5 each.
Because its DIY. My time, effort and energy used to make something from my own hands is very rewarding. For around 60 cents each. Why not? Thank you for your feedback.
That is awesome! On the others you made, did you make the finger rest notch deeper to allow your bait cast reel to sit flush with the front of the holder? Regardless, what a great idea. Very cool.
MOBBIN Outdoors ah. You’re right. I didn’t hear any drive bys in the background. Maybe your next vid could be “does dead hookers make good bait?” Think I got a few spots here. 😆
MOBBIN Outdoors HA! That house party shooting was up the road from me. Couple weeks before that cops smoked dude at foodmax. I think media down plays it. Not to long ago I left here and saw cops beating the f## out of the crazy East Indian guy. I was contemplating carrying while fishing the canal here due to the “camps”. Sac is becoming Stockton 2.0 slowly.
Looks pretty good, well done. With tube style rod holders being pretty cheap and factoring in electricity and time it takes, this is really not worth the effort.
Why do Americans need to say "i'm gonna go ahead..." all the time! ?!? The sentences would mean exactly the same if they didnt say it. Except, it would take less time!!!
Or, you could just pay a few bucks and go to the store and buy some rod holders that are already professionally manufactured by a fishing rod holder company.
Nice way to make 1. I watched Zoffinger make a holder on a bicycle yesterday that fits the tube on bike
Great video. 2 yrs later and this video is still helpful lol going to try and get 4 on my crate
The notch for the trigger grip is a good idea
Nice build! And nice to see the Filipino flag 🇵🇭 in the background. My wife is Filipino
Very cool. Love the DIY stuff for kayaks.

Zoffinger did this a few years ago

Thats a very cool idea, I wondered how my baitcaster reel would work. Cancell my Amazon order!!!! Thanks for the info. Very cool video!!!😁
should you use red wine, or white wine? I think white wine goes better with fish.
Thank you this is an awesome diy project
Nice. Thanks 4 sharing.
Aloha🌴🎣🏄♂️🤙🏼
Great video, thank you
Put the bases anywhere and swap the holders around.
Awesome Video.
No need for the flare unless you just like the look and use a power tool to cut the notches, just saves time.
I was wondering if the flare was necessary or not. Doesn't seem to be

for spinning reels to fall through

I’m gonna go ahead and explain it to you by saying, that is just how we talk.
