Gramps; You are a bad man on the guitar! How about a little Hendrix next time man. Maybe try Red House for some pure delta blues? Love your taste and style. I might be older than you and it gives an old man inspiration as well as great memories. Stay cool big daddy! @@grampstries
Damn Gramps, you had me pulling guitar faces during those solos..... great that you managed to keep that raw Cream sound just like the original which is not an easy feat to do... rock on !! 🤘
Respect Grand Dad that was Outta sight, we are from the the most talented and artistic generation. The youth need to all do a year in Music and Art school.
What has "not the exact licks" got to do with it.I'm eighty and been playing Clapton stuff for years.I've never copied or tried to copy ony of his licks.I've always tried to put my own stamp on things.Much of this guys riffs are as good if not better than Claptons.
@@peterwebb2542 ... it means he didn't do an exact copy, which is part of taking a little artistic license and being creative. BTW, I can play the "grouchy old guy" card too... but I don't feel like going there today.
Didn't know what to expect, but this was great. (From another grandpa who saw Cream live on their first American tour at a club that held about 300.people.)
Oh yeah! I’ve watched so many covers of this great blues tune, this is right up there and the new takes on the solos make for a great interpretation rather than a straight copy. Great job!
4:10 time I heard Cream's version was at a high school dance, after a football game. About 1969... The second solo put a chill up my spine. Still does. Can't call you gramps. We're likely the same age!
Excellent, fun to listen to. I bought that album when it came out, and Crossroads has always been my favorite piece of blues. Spoonful is awesome also, the whole album is great. Thanks for posting this, Gramps!
Loved that you didn't do it note for note. Your take was strong and fit perfectly. Especially liked the lead about 3:25 when you were digging in. It really felt like it was from your soul, not your brain. It's great when we can lose ourselves into bliss for just a bit. Great job.
Absolutely great!! I saw the title of the Vid and I’m thinking Yeah, right. You are a pleasant surprise. That live version at the Filmore was in my opinion, Clapton’s best lead solo ever!
This is my most favorite Cream’s tune, and you play very well. I’m 72 years old, and play guitar too. It’s funny that good rock guitar player on UA-cam are all old men. I guess young people don’t play guitar solo anymore. I haven’t heard great solo in rock music nowadays.
Applause, applause, applause! Can you do White Room for an encore?
Thanks! Why Yes- I just might do that!

From 1966 to 1976 music in this country was at its zenith! Clapton playing Robert Johnson doesn't get any better. CREAM WAS A MONSTER!
