The Carthage army felt like a classic, old-style rush build that you'd see back in the early days before the endless strings of spaghetti lines and horse archer spam filled the meta. Great battle, glad I watched it.
If this were a campaign, Carthage losing their mercenaries counts as a huge victory for their faction, because those mercenaries sucked the treasury income dry. The noble fighters made them get their money's worth. What a good battle!
@Dermenscha you’re right because it’s never ideal when just one play style hogs up the meta, however at least being good with horse archers requires skill because of the high micro need. I prefer this to playing against rome with 9 Evocati cohorts because anyone has the skill to win with that army.
Really fun battle and an excellent example of why the skirmish phase is so important. Honestly Numida threw this game at around 15:23 in my opinion but alas. Really close game and well played both. Can see what Numidia was going for there but just didn't work out
the 10th thumbs up agrees.-Harmlessly passing your time in the grassland away; only dimly aware of a certain unease in the air.."But,not the Heir he do not error.." So you 2 and three or 4 more should care to drop that thumbs up button a like yes plz .
@Sir Lee that's what I keep telling others, but nope. They just go "hur dur the major ones can beat those." I know how to properly use them. They're fun.
The rebellion of Jugurtha- who was a really interesting Numidian Prince-saw a war between the Romans and Numidians and saw the Numidians attempt to imitate their foes with mirroring 'legions'; Numidians dressed and armed in the Roman fashion. In a familiar tale of a foreign adversary against Rome, Jugurtha won a few battles (and infamously bribed a few Roman senators) before being defeated and dragged in chains to Rome for his execution :(

That was an insane battle.
Carthage feels like a Swiss army knife that is missing just a few things. However they have a good amount of versatility. Excellent battle all-around
they miss mid tier heavy cavalry and good mid tier missle cav
That was a fantastic battle! Great to see it come down to one unit per side
Loving the rome 2 revival!
Wow that was down to the wire, fantastic!
That's about as close as it gets. Lovely battle
Carthaginian Noble Warrior: Their army's gone.
Another Noble Warrior: _our_ army's gone.
Beating Numidia is no easy task... Well played
Morning Heir ... Amazing victory for Carthage, really enjoyed that :)

Alt Title "down to the wire", NOW THAT is TOTAL WAR!

Ahh this was so great, what an awesome battle!
What a coincidence! I was looking for that medieval 2 match for quite a while but I couldn't find it. Does anyone have a link to that match?
Damn that was the nearest run thing I’ve seen in awhile!
Those noble fighters did Hannibal proud.

Two great factions, hell yeah
Oh boy I do love me a fun match up
Every time I watch one of these battles. It makes me want to re-download Rome 2 and fight online using some weaker factions like Roxolani or Pergamon.
Neither of the two you mentioned are weak.

I adore scutarii infantry, they look so cool
How can i find this game with this factions (massesally etc... anyone ? Tnx in advance :}
EPIC!
Great battle!! Carthage could have won earlier with more cavalry
Shit load of spear units and a mix of calvery and calvery skirmishes for diversion
Nice
No cavalry and long range skirmishers against a skirmishing faction…
Numidia Kingdom 🔥 🇩🇿
The North African showdown
I’ll challenge you in total war.
Nothing makes a faction more inflated than the random addition of legionary units... and for Numidia of all factions?!
Well, there is some historic precedence from the revolts in the I century A.D. Numidians did field "legionaries" against Rome
The rebellion of Jugurtha- who was a really interesting Numidian Prince-saw a war between the Romans and Numidians and saw the Numidians attempt to imitate their foes with mirroring 'legions'; Numidians dressed and armed in the Roman fashion. @@BOSIE321 not only Jugurtha, but you're right also. Apparently Numidia used legionaries during Tacfarinas rebellion
I just put up a video yesterday of this same map check out Sir Tanis channel for more rome 2 replays
Carthage player really stupid not to bring cavalry, just a facepalm
I hate the way the Numidian player played. So cowardly, and without honor. Trying to kill the general in the back
Lol what
No just smart. His cavalry could escape and then the general was unprotected. Blunder by Carthage
