Fun fact to the ending slides: Because it is all done in gameplay, if you have the Vault 13 canteen on you and time the ending right (which isn't hard and can totally happen on accident), the pop-up that your character "Took a sip of [their] trusty Vault 13 canteen" will appear during the slideshow
@@KylarTyphlosion hey, the Vault 13 canteen is filled with (infinite) clean water! (no seriously, even in hardcore mode you don't get rads from it, making it incredibly useful in that mode)
After years of him doing it alone, I would assume it took a lot for Shesez to allow someone to come and help/share/contribute. It would take a lot of faith and trust to see something like that through, and I gotta say, Snipey is a perfect candidate! His vocal beats, and his enthusiasm are not just replicated tones from Shesez, but are instead, his OWN that still fits the ~vibe~. Couldn't have said it better. I think he fits the channel perfectly. Out of the two hundred plus candidates Shesez said he had, while I'm sure many where absolutely exceptional (and I hope they'll go on to their own UA-cam careers), he seems like a perfect fit for Boundary Break.
5:21 I have a theory as to this door's purpose, I don't think this is cut content I think it's a design feature. When you dismiss a companion in the game they disappear into thin air. This is the same effect that plays when NPC's enter a room to another cell in the game. To trigger the companions to vanish like they do the game is possibly and I'd say even probably triggering invisible doors that transport the Companion from your current location to their predetermined location when they're dismissed. The room you were viewing in this scene is Boone's room one of these companions and when he's dismissed he returns to the town of Novac you're looking at there. I can't confirm this but if you checked the 188, Mojave Express, Kings School of Impersonation, Raul's Shack, the Lucky 38, and the Old Mormon Fort I'd bet you'd find similar doors out of the map that lead to nowhere as these are all places companion's idle when not working for the Player.
That actually sounds pretty genius. I know Bethesda uses these hidden doors in a few games. Most notable is oblivion. Under the temple theres a door you can access that sends you to the version of the temple at the complete end of the game and weirdly enough it works. I assume its hotswapped out for the temple when the city is under siege at the end of the game, but you can noclip through to find the door and end the game at any time which is hilarious
Nah i belive whats going on is the game just dosnt have a refrence of where the door should go but you still entered it so it just sends you to the middle of the overworld map, reason im kinda confident on this is the same thing happens in skyrim but it is neat to know that the definitve middle of the game is that little patch of wasteland🤗
actually it is, in fact, cut content. there was initially intended to be a cut scene that played when you left involving the player getting knocked unconscious, and then waking up in the desert. originally this secondary door would’ve swapped places once the player entered through the original door, but this was scrapped and the devs must’ve just forgotten to get rid of the extra door.
The whole “Ron the narrator” npc things exists because of limitations in the engine. Because they made the final slideshow play out in game rather than as a cutscene, it required an npc to be the “voice box” for the narration. Same reason there’s an npc human named Mr.House, because you aren’t actually chatting with the computer console.
@@archdornan5311 ok, I was wrong, the monorail does move, however it's like the rockets at repconn in that, there really isn't any technical wizardry going on to do it. It's basically just the assets being moved. The reason why the metro train had to be a helmet in Broken Steel is because the player is riding it in first person, this is also why it locks the player in first person, in reality when you ride the metro in that DLC, you're actually unequipped of your current equipment and forced to wear the helmet.
I have zero knowledge about video games, but as Snipey’s sister, gotta show my support!! Way to go Snipey!!! Proud of you 👏🏼 Your voice was made to narrate!
Honestly at the start of the video I heard "new narrator" and I was like oh no. But after watching it. I think he is perfect for the show for you guys to upload back and fourth. More content and it keeps that same high quality as normal. Absolutely fantastic job! One video and I already like his enthusiasm and energy. Do keep him around!
Normally when people bring new people to host a certain thing, it always changes. However, Snipey's narration is really good at give the EXACT same vibe as Shesez. Good stuff
The part that truly sold me was his pure excitement about the black boxes. I liked Snipey right from the start but when you could literally hear the smile in his voice talking about something as simple as a black box in a void I thought to myself 'that joy is too genuine to not love hearing... he's a perfect fit' Great first video Snipey, you've already got a fan in me!
Snipey did really good for the episode, and this was a good game to start up on, nails your formula flawlessly, so cant wait to see more from the both of you :D.
New host has good energy and speaks very well and clearly, honestly a great choice. If I were to give any criticisms, it's that some of the visuals were a little bit behind / too slow for the accompanying voice over, so I would like to see them more in-sync going forward. But other than that, great debut and I'm looking forward to seeing more from both of you Edit: To anyone thinking this is a negative comment, they both literally asked for feedback regarding Snipey as a new host, so I gave it. Criticism isn't inherently bad, it's one of the ways we learn and grow, and it's especially useful when done so constructively (ie: offering helpful suggestions rather than just saying you didn't like something). So, try not to get caught up in that unhealthy internet mindset of thinking that all critique is an attack on someone, that kind of thinking doesn't do any of us any good
Extremely like the Co-host! He clearly has a lot of enthusiasm and passion for these projects, as well as the details and information is broad all around. And you already had me hooked with New Vegas to begin with! Looking forward to your endeavors man!
That door that goes into the middle of the desert, is actually one of the things in the game that causes crashing. Took me a long long long time to track that crash down when working on Tale of Two Wastelands.
Love how it still has a little sprinkle of shesez in specifiying every part of a thing, and in a nice, casual voice by snipey! Great work on the video! Cant wait to see more!
14:25 The tents are apparently implemented as a "worldspace:" an outdoor space divided into grid cells that load in real time, like the Mojave. What you're seeing with the "square of land" is the game loading a 5x5-cell area around you. You don't see anything else because this worldspace probably doesn't have any LOD generated for it. 15:30 Hm. Normally, I'd assume that the tower is also constructed in a worldspace -- one marked as a "child" of the Mojave so that it "inherits" the terrain and LOD of any cells it doesn't provide on its own. Skyrim uses the same trick for walled cities like Whiterun and Riften, so you can see all of the game's landscape without the developers having to copy and paste it. But I don't see any LOD buildings here... Maybe New Vegas just didn't do those? I don't have time to open the game's editing tools right now. 17:50 IIRC, in Bethesda-engine RPGs, the void's color is determined by the fog settings, so if Obsidian wanted things to be slightly faded and grey at longer distances, they'd end up with a white void. The black cube probably exists so that if the camera ever clips slightly out of bounds by accident, you don't see a blinding white chunk of pixels on-screen.
On that last point. From what little messing around I've done in the Creation Kit, I recall some models simply not blocking light that came from their unmodeled sides. I figure it's to block out those light leaks from that worldspace.
I've never played the game, but given this video, I somehow have the feeling the tower was originally meant to have semi-transparent windows or the like, where you could see the outside/skybox. In that context, it would have made sense to show the mountain range without any extra detail. The black boxes are probably there to prevent any potential clipping/gaps. Considering the rooms are pretty dark, it's way harder to notice any openings compared to the bright light blue.
Black squares are usually used in bethesda games to disguise stuff that's not supposed to appear on the local map, so I expect they were used here to hide the super secret enclave bunker room's location from the player.
The glitch where cannibal Johnson is circling you during the end slideshow makes much more sense now, he was teleported there with you and his ai is confused
I paused the video and came back to it days later, having entirely forgotten there was different host, and I literally couldn't tell the difference until I was reminded at the end. Snipey's perfect.
the new guy's voice is absolutely adorable, especially at 17:50 because he sounds really excited, i can tell he's passionate and i really do enjoy his overall vibe
This guy is adorable. He has the cadence and excitement of a 7 year old talking about their favorite toy. I'd love to see more of this goober in future episodes.
Is this a compliment or a roast? LOL well theres the voice and apparent age difference, and I think that effect is felt more strongly since Shesez is really experienced with the work. There's research and writing and delivery, and other stuff I'm not thinking of, that is a lot to do. I felt this fellow moved a little too fast at times, but I chalk it up to the initial anxiety of filling those big ass shoes. I have some bias too. All these times staring into the cursed assemblage of body pieces inside a person's face, Shesez's deeper calming voice was there to keep me grounded. In time, I'm sure I will "trust" the voice of this new gamer man in the same way.
Yeah he's got genuine excitement it's great Also can't blame him, fallout 3 was a hollow dull overrated blah without mods, New Vegas was such a goddamn gem,(that added most of the mods from 3 haha) and the 100 mods on your load order are a bonus not mandatory haha The rpg mechanics, branching plotlines, actual factions, so goddamn. Good.
When you made the original announcement of a co-host, I was honestly terrified that one of my favourite channels was gonna be ruined. I gotta say I'm really glad I was completely wrong. Snipey is fantastic, carries the same exact vibe as your videos, and I can't wait to see what comes next from him. Keep it up!
Speaking of the Vault 21 section, a lotta people theorize it was attatched to Benny's escape route from The Tops. If you trigger Benny's escape behavior and kill him before he can get to the secret exit in the Tops, it leads to a very vaulty-looking section. It doesn't lead anywhere and is not intended to be explored in the slightest, but it has some static loot and container loot. It kinda reminds me of the lil section on Monarch in Outer Worlds that's blocked off and not intended for exploration, but gets you a bit of loot if you know how to platform well.
Been with Shesez since he had less than 5k subs and can confidently say you have done a great job of carrying his energy while also being yourself. Fantastic first episode for you my dude! Looking forward to the content the two of you can put out as a team!
Great job keeping it really consistent with the feel of Boundary Break! The humor and information and cheekiness were all there! I look forward to seeing more!
1:29 it's actually because to have a voice line play, the GECK (the game building tool to make new vegas) requires voice lines to be spoken by an NPC, there are also other instances of this occuring in the game.
I believe the reason that Ron the Narrator is behind the screen and that it's in game at all is that 1) the engine doesn't actually have a proper video player built in, and 2) voices can only come from NPCs in the engine
close. voices should be the same as any audio, but in order to subtitle the lines, Obsidian would have to implement them as dialogue... and dialogue can only come from an NPC or IIRC a "talking activator" that borrows an NPC's voice, like the computer terminals shown in the video
The new host is amazing, no matter what, Shesez is the boundry breaker that we know and love, this host captures the vibes he gives off always, enthusiastic, informational, and smooth with the transitions of each boundry break even with it edited it feels nice and smooth between each scene! Just how Shesez does it, a very nice video Snipey, always welcomed to see you as the new host bro!

Honestly, Snipey matched the energy and vibe of the series so well it seems like he could have been here from the start. Great job, hype for even more videos!
The duplicate door in the novac Hotel room might be used for something. There is a perk you can choose that makes you pass out on the spot and wake up naked with a lot of caps and alcohol bottles in the middle of the desert. And I THINK that is the exact place you spawn that you showed. So I think that door might be what the game forces you to interact with when you pick that perk, which teleports you there
Shesez, I've been watching your content since almost the beginning of your channel, and have LOVED every single bit of content you bring us. That being said, Snipey is DEFINITELY gonna be an amazing co-host. Loved his energy and genuine sense of interest and excitement for the video he recorded/narrated. I am very much looking forward to seeing more of BOTH of you in the future!!
Snipey is fantastic. I love his enthusiasm, and he clearly is enjoying this exploration of the game world. I hope that he sticks around for many videos to come. Keep up the great work, both of you.

Fun little thing that I don't believe has ever been documented anywhere: you talked about the vendor crates, but one of them underneath mick and ralph's shop has some DLC items. Among them is an item called NVDLC05ARMAMantisKing. It's just an apparel that gives you the appearance of holding the mantis gauntlet. Presumably just a placeholder item, but there is technically a "legitimate" spawn of it in the game
At the beginning of the video you can definitely hear how anxious he was but mid way you can start hearing him get more comfortable with it and towards the end you can definitely definitely hear how more more comfortable he was. The fact he was able to do this all in one episode makes me curious for the next couple of years (as Snipey said himself) great episode my friends!
Great episode. As for what Snipey needs to change? Nothing. Be yourself. You did a wonderful job. Be proud of yourself and your work. Best of luck to you in this endeavor and opportunity. Hopefully it opens up the doors to a wonderful future for both of you. I mean that from the bottom of my heart.
Great episode, Snipes!! Absolutely lovely enthusiasm. There’s nothing wrong with being nervous on debuts but you sounded entirely confident and genuinely excited about a game that I and many others also love. It’s great to have you!!
11:32 hearing "three five seven" instead of "three fifty-seven" hurts my brain more than i thought it would. i usually don't get bothered by things like that, but that one got under my skin lol. the fully textured round being hidden inside the cylinder there is completely genius though! there are even a few real revolvers that actually do fire a round from the center of the cylinder like the LeMat which fires .44 caliber balls and a 20 gouge shell from the center.
I absolutely LOVE the new co-host. He has the same vibe and energy as you do, and he sounds just as if not more excited for the things you uncover in Boundary Break. Can't wait to see more of Snipey!
For constructive criticism I'd only really have two things: 1. When the low poly Fallout 3 bird was mentioned I would've liked to see that too just for comparison since it was mentioned that it was reused. If there's not any available footage though understandable. 2. Snipey did forget to shoutout the Twitter page to let people know they can put in their requests there for future episodes when going through the viewer request section. Other than that I thought it was a pretty solid opener. Welcome to the crew!
another piece of costructive criticism is when the coyote is shown, snipey calls it a wolf. great presentation otherwise, it just has some script issues
I filmed, edited, and wrote, but doing it all it still kind of new to me. I was bound to miss a few things, and I appreciate you folks letting me know very kindly! Thanks :)
The narrator character was designed by Ron perlmen I remember reading it in a gaming magazine, it also mentioned Mathew Perry chose how Bennys face would look.
he has such a great voice, attitude and personality for this, honestly a really great addition to the already awesome channel, cant wait to see more videos from your two
Congrats on the debut episode, Snipey! I'll admit, I was a bit worried the new host might sound a bit stilted at first, but the VO was great! Excited to see more!
13:50 and speaking of this feature. In the New Vegas randomizer you can experience this feature by having the local map point you to a "nearby" tent when you're inside the other. Very good premiere episode.
The Narrator exists because Dialogue always has to come from an npc talking activator, fun fact: House's Terminal used to be a relay for a hidden npc until the devs decided to just make House's terminal an npc
The enthusiasm is actually quite refreshing, your energy makes it easy to be entertained, you've kinda got an EpicNate way about your mannerisms. Thanks for the content!

6:40 That rock under the ground near black rock might finally explain a glitch I experienced. One of the boomer quest givers teleported away from the hangar while I was doing his quest for some reason, and when I tried turning it in the quest marker was located where the underground rock is. Now if only the ps3 version has console commands I might be able to finally turn the quest in...
17:13 I can answer that question, that plane on the bottom of Lake Mede exists in real life so it has to be in a specific spot on bottom of the in-game lake to match it.
I have a pretty cool boundary break story for this game. I installed a mod that apparently unintentionally removed part of the invisible boundary wall around the map. So naturally I saved and decided to see if I could find the edge of the map. The first area was basically just low poly rough terrain and mountains and a few rock and plants as they were in player line of sight from the map boundary wall. Over the mountains, the terrain flattens out with no rocks or plants or grass and then there's a sheer cliff into a seemingly infinite sheet of water. The water is irradiated. I can't remember if there was anything under the water.
You don't need a mod for that. At the abandoned airport (with the radscorps) you can jump onto a water/oil tank and then over the fence. You can then run around the outside of the whole map's boundaries and eventually go anywhere (with the exception of anything over the other side of the irritated river area).
I may be wrong but I think there's enough content left for a second NV video. Snipey did an awesome job hosting, it's gonna be great seeing how the two of you shape the channel together
Man I’m so proud of you son, AKA Snipey, you did an amazing job! I’ve always told you that your voice and the way you project it will be your ticket. Can’t wait to listen to the next one, congrats to an incredible debut. Love you, Dad
The map zoomout at the end is my favorite part because I always wanted to know how they took screenshots of the landscape to turn into the world map. What I wanna know now is how they were able to model stuff on a world scale like this since the GECK engine can only render a few outdoor cells at once.
Snipes did an amazing job. It was enjoyable, entertaining, and just wonderful to watch and listen to him. I hope things continue to go well and you guys are able to make this channel grow even more than it already has. Also this so far has been my favorite, I love New vegas and seeing this was just amazing. I hope you guys do the DLC for this as well, I would love to see Old world blues boundary break.
I like Snipey being one of the hosts for this show! The mic quality sounded off when compared to yours, but that probably just my ears being difficult lol. Can't wait to hear more from him!
Genuinely he's an amazing post. I wasn't sure what I was expecting but Snipey nails it out of the park. He sounds he's been here this whole time vs some guy that just got hired today. Looking forward to more of his uploads on the channel.
Then I am happy that your first video was on my favorite game of all time. Great job, and I learned a few things about the secrets of New Vegas that I have never heard of before. Great work, delivery was impeccable, and really friendly. Good work!
He’s great! He’s got the right vibes, excellent energy and easy to listen to. Just enough energy that it’s not boring, but not too much that it gets annoying, I think he’s a great choice as a new co host!
I am always amazed at how they made this game work in such a short time, not to mention adding so much in writing, enemy types, weapons and such. This just shows how much duct tape and bubblegum went into making things work!
I think what's crazy about the NV map is just how narrow it is. You're only in the middle third of the map. Where the left is empty and the right across the river is mostly not passable.
I'm actually pleasantly surprised at the new narrator. I've not played new vegas myself, I mostly wanted to see how the new narrator would do, but snipey's done pretty well emulating The Shesez Style and covering interesting out of bounds things. I was worried initially but he's good, I hope he continues the good streak.

If you recruit the remnants to help you during hoover dam, they’re supposed to despawn when you enter the legate’s camp, but for some reason Cannibal Johnson doesn’t? And when you’re teleported to the slide show room, he can come with you and stand in front of the slides, it’s awesome
New vegas is the game with the most cut content I know. I estimate that 30-40% of the game was cut. New vegas originally had an amazing sewer system, but in the final version, only 2/3 was available. In vault 21, there would be a quest that would link you to the tower, in the end. A lot had to be cut because of time and money (actually more time than money, there was a concern to launch it in 2010, as the engine was already dated, and improve it graphically to compete with what was coming in 2011 would not be viable, the new vegas graphics engine, is the same as FO3, and has its roots in 2003!)

I agree! I have ZERO knowledge about the video gaming industry but we always knew his voice was made for this kind of stuff ❤️ Dad
Now this is wholesome

@@azbassman Y’all are great, he did an awesome job.

Good stuff
Yeah doesn't feel like they're trying to be mass-appeal bland at all.
The part that truly sold me was his pure excitement about the black boxes. I liked Snipey right from the start but when you could literally hear the smile in his voice talking about something as simple as a black box in a void I thought to myself 'that joy is too genuine to not love hearing... he's a perfect fit'
Great first video Snipey, you've already got a fan in me!
But other than that, great debut and I'm looking forward to seeing more from both of you
Edit: To anyone thinking this is a negative comment, they both literally asked for feedback regarding Snipey as a new host, so I gave it. Criticism isn't inherently bad, it's one of the ways we learn and grow, and it's especially useful when done so constructively (ie: offering helpful suggestions rather than just saying you didn't like something). So, try not to get caught up in that unhealthy internet mindset of thinking that all critique is an attack on someone, that kind of thinking doesn't do any of us any good
what he said 👍

Extremely like the Co-host! He clearly has a lot of enthusiasm and passion for these projects, as well as the details and information is broad all around. And you already had me hooked with New Vegas to begin with! Looking forward to your endeavors man!
That door that goes into the middle of the desert, is actually one of the things in the game that causes crashing. Took me a long long long time to track that crash down when working on Tale of Two Wastelands.
Why would it send you there though?
@@subliminal128probably because its the middle of the map in the engine or something
Wait so new vegas out of bounds are normal and not decend into madness and hell like DrB0sh?
@@jamjar2025 Ah, you're right! I totally forgot about the maps, typically created on the fly. Although I'm not sure it's like that in Fallout NV, too.

I tough you were talking about the black boxes things lol
Yeah he's got genuine excitement it's great
Also can't blame him, fallout 3 was a hollow dull overrated blah without mods, New Vegas was such a goddamn gem,(that added most of the mods from 3 haha) and the 100 mods on your load order are a bonus not mandatory haha
The rpg mechanics, branching plotlines, actual factions, so goddamn. Good.

Snipey is fantastic, carries the same exact vibe as your videos, and I can't wait to see what comes next from him. Keep it up!
Snipey has on point energy and voice that shows dedication. For a first time as a co-host he certainly made a great first impression.
Rest in peace the scientest guy who fell and died at 18:12
Been with Shesez since he had less than 5k subs and can confidently say you have done a great job of carrying his energy while also being yourself. Fantastic first episode for you my dude! Looking forward to the content the two of you can put out as a team!

funny enough i think he's got just a little too much energy lol, he's at like 105% for me.
1:29 it's actually because to have a voice line play, the GECK (the game building tool to make new vegas) requires voice lines to be spoken by an NPC, there are also other instances of this occuring in the game.
This reminds me of this arg horror series this guy made of going out of bounds in fnv and finding disturbing locations
Drb0sch I assume
@@YourFavoriteVampireSuccubusyes
I believe the reason that Ron the Narrator is behind the screen and that it's in game at all is that 1) the engine doesn't actually have a proper video player built in, and 2) voices can only come from NPCs in the engine
close. voices should be the same as any audio, but in order to subtitle the lines, Obsidian would have to implement them as dialogue... and dialogue can only come from an NPC or IIRC a "talking activator" that borrows an NPC's voice, like the computer terminals shown in the video

There is a perk you can choose that makes you pass out on the spot and wake up naked with a lot of caps and alcohol bottles in the middle of the desert.

Good energy, love the enthusiasm and this was some solid coverage of one of my favorite games. Nicely done, and congrats on your first episode!
I absolutely LOVE the new co-host. He has the same vibe and energy as you do, and he sounds just as if not more excited for the things you uncover in Boundary Break. Can't wait to see more of Snipey!
For constructive criticism I'd only really have two things:
I’d be curious who wrote the episode. He could just be a narrator and the writer forgot to go put it in there.

Now if only the ps3 version has console commands I might be able to finally turn the quest in...
17:13 I can answer that question, that plane on the bottom of Lake Mede exists in real life so it has to be in a specific spot on bottom of the in-game lake to match it.

Snipey did a great job! I look forward to see more from both of you
I have a pretty cool boundary break story for this game.

The map zoomout at the end is my favorite part because I always wanted to know how they took screenshots of the landscape to turn into the world map. @@thepenisgenius yeah, they repurposed a ton of assets from 3, I just mean the new stuff added
I think what's crazy about the NV map is just how narrow it is. You're only in the middle third of the map. Where the left is empty and the right across the river is mostly not passable.
The map is like 10x bigger than it should be. But you can find the DLC's out in each direction.

Snipey has to stay! They really brought a new energy to the show. Had me hooked the whole video. What a team
