Thanks for sharing , I’ve got the same shock you were talking about, i just wanted to ask at the bottom of the shock near the eyelet there is a silver small round dot ,I thought it was a mark on my shock. Please can you tell me what is it. Thanks for video buddy. Ross 😊
Hi Ross, it's a retainer detent used for holding the spring and ball in place for the red HSR adjuster. Here is a diagram www.ridefox.com/fox17/img/help/page1071-N964/808-14-073-KIT.jpg@@jeanboston310
Im getting the 2021 Norco sight a2, it comes with the x2 shock. its a 150/160mm travel bike so i think it will work well. i like to ride almost anything from trails to enduro sometimes even random urban spots. would you think this shock will be good for me
this shock isn’t good for anything… you will have problems with it 100% I just know to many people which have problems with this shock and even after warranty service problems reappear, I got my nee nukeproof giga with this shock but since I knew about this problems I took it down and sold it new in 10 days the guy who bought it called me that shock is leaking oil, now it’s on warranty service but it won’t change anything once he gets it back problems will stay the same…
In your opinion, do you think for a bike with 120mm and 185x50mm of shock lenght would be a good option? Or you think maybe better a Float X for example? Thank you
Depend on what you're after as the X2 might feel a bit over damped at 120mm, if you want a more lively poppy feel the float x or dpx2 might be a better option.
I have a previous generation pivot switchblade with 135mm of rear travel. Would you recommend this shock or DPX2? Running a Fox 36 on front. I like to ride technical downhills and occasional parks.
@@jedmtb In researching the new X shock seems like the fitment won’t work for my bike. Guess I’ll try the X2. Would you say the new version is better for climbing than the previous Gen?
It depends from who and how you order it, but the guide they include is very easy to follow and takes about 15-20min to get it setup to Fox’s recommend settings.
hi there I am wondering if I can install this 2021 model on my Specialized StumpJumper EVO 2019 my concern is the dimetion of the canister I saw that this new model came in the 210x55 witch is acceptable for my bike but I am not so sure if the canister will fit currently I have a Fox DPX2 210x50 if you have any tip please let me know thank you
My float X2 didn’t come with the high speed compression hex or the high speed rebound adjuster on the bottom. Kinda POed since I got this shock for those features. Any ideas on why mine didn’t come with it?
@@jedmtb but it does move? I'm asking as I have this shock and during the week it's used to ride to work. Ps I am fairly new to this product. I checked the pressure yesterday and it seemed like it was held but when I checked the sag the sus moved and I couldn't for the life of me remeber if it did that when I first got it.
Yo. I'm in the market for a shock. I don't see anyone raving about this top of the line shock..? This would be my first full suspension bike and i want it to be perfect. I keep going between this and the super deluxe ultimate. This has more adjustability but seems more firm and less supple. My bike will be the commencal meta tr with 140 rear. Is this the best trail / enduro shock or what?
Best is always a loaded term :) it depends what your want, the X2 is the best in terms of pure performance but it can take a bit of time to setup due to the range of adjustability where as the super deluxe ultimate is quicker to setup.
@@jedmtb ok I get the setup. But is it fun and playful? Overkill for 140mm? I ride maybe twice and maybe 3x a week tops is season. Mostly xc (due to availability) and with some short downhill style. I hit jumps and ride more aggressive. Will hit a bike park maybe 10 times in 4 months. I just pulled the trigger on the x2 and its a special order item I could always cancel. This is a stock pile of parts for a frame that arrives in April 😐
@@jordanprysmiki4337 Yes it is, the reason I like the X2 is you can set it how you like, the problem with pre-set shocks is if you don't like the tune then it's right pain to get them rebuilt, 140mm up to 170mm is the sweet spot for this shock.
shock with most problems… I know at least 10 people who got new ones all of them had problems… cracking body, leaking oil… and once they send it to warranty service and got it back trouble’s didn’t go away…
Thanks for the video. Would love to see your take on tuning if possible.
How about an instal and setup video soon? Good work!
Many thanks. Just got this on my Orbea Fs wild team.. What a bike.
Thanks, that's a nice bike :)

Hi Ross, are you referring to the one next to the high speed rebound adjuster?
@@jedmtb hi pal, thanks for your prompt reply. Ye it’s near the red adjuster on the lower canister. Thanks Ross 🤘🤘

hey mate. Ive got an ebike with a fox dpx2 shock. Id like a bit more support in the middle. Would you recommend this shock? cheers

Should be a good match for the type of riding you do.

I'd recommend the x2 or the new 2022 Float X looks interesting.

hi there
I am wondering if I can install this 2021 model on my Specialized StumpJumper EVO 2019
my concern is the dimetion of the canister I saw that this new model came in the 210x55 witch is acceptable for my bike but I am not so sure if the canister will fit currently I have a Fox DPX2 210x50
if you have any tip please let me know
thank you
I don't own one so I can't say 100% but I've personally seen a StumpJumper EVO out on the trails running an x2
It can be run upside down if that help.
Please help me. Fox Float DPX2 2021 what is the max pressure? Thx!
Max pressure is 300psi on that shock.
My float X2 didn’t come with the high speed compression hex or the high speed rebound adjuster on the bottom. Kinda POed since I got this shock for those features. Any ideas on why mine didn’t come with it?
If you have the performance version it only comes with low speed adjustments, easy way to tell is the black shaft vs the gold on the factory.
@@jedmtb damn. Guess I’m just the dumbass. It came with the bike it was just something I was lookin forward to having. Thanks for the info
Hey bro with the second shock in the video with switch. Should this just lock off the shock so it doesn't move?
Yes it adds low speed compression which effectively stops the shock from moving.

@@stalker1567 Yes it should move a bit, if it locked out completely it would affect the grip when climbing.
How does it feel pedaling up hill?
I find it good for climbing but it really depends on the suspension design on you bike.

This shock is too new and the previous version has SO many issues, its too early to rave about it. Im sure it feels and works great when its new.
the highspeed rebound is so hard to reach on my santa cruz megatower
That tunnel is a right pain on the santa cruz for setting up the shock, sure does make them ride great. Nice bike the megatower 👌
... mounting hardware? Go for real world cycling needle bearing. Super smooth and last forever
My next upgrade for my 21 Levo Comp
Nice bike :)
Thanks
Now that I have it, I can't seem to find a sweet spot serrings for my ride lol
