The Montage isn't to everyones taste, but a demo like this shows how wonderfull an instrument it is if people that understand to use it sits down and actually work with it. Wonderfull demo Ujiie :) instead of listening to all the bongheads that are just shooting wild from the hips with how bad it is compared to this and that, and why doesn't it have this and that feature from Motif...
Causes me great amusement watching the Knob twiddlers on these synth demos and their inability to roll a knob between thumb and finger. Instead they grip the thing and wind their shoulder out of joint. So Funny!

I love the Yamaha instruments and I really want to like the montage, but for some reason it doesn't "connect" with me on an emotional level at all. Seems like a fantastic instrument though, a fantastic, boring and lifeless instrument.
Don’t know what you mean. Kronos pianos are great. It’s an exceptionally capable machine and has more synthesis power than the Montage. It also runs from an SSD, not a hard drive. The boot time is an irritation, though.

It is possible to upgrade Montage 1.x to 2.x by new firmware or it is new hardware version?
It's a downloadable upgrade you can apply to all Montages.

I miss the times when synths were actually synths. Now they are just workstations.
