Real Tourettes Reacts To Fake Tourettes On TikTok | Ticsandroses Edition

- Hi everyone! Today my fiancé and I who have Real Tourettes react to fake tourettes on tiktok - specifically the tiktoker icsandroses. Ticsandroses faked tourettes and we react to some of their videos showing why it is harmful to fake tourette syndrome.
Just a disclaimer: TicsandRoses uses THEY/THEM pronouns, and I believe we might have accidentally slipped up a few times in this video.
As a girl with Tourette's, I would love to spread awareness and education about my disorder, as I feel it is quite misunderstood in today's society. The media has made it out to be a swearing disorder only, which is far from true. I hope this video will educate you on Tourette Syndrome and tic disorders! Life with Tourettes can be difficult, but just know that we're the same as everyone else...except for the fact we tic like clocks! (:
Thanks for watching!

Hey friends! Just a heads up - Will and I have since broken up from when this video was filmed. I appreciate all the love towards our relationship in the comments, but we are no longer together (he cheated oop) and there will be no further content posted with the two of us. Thank you for understanding 💕
I’m so sorry he cheated you deserve better
I'm so sorry
Soz man
Oh. Well, I hope you find someone like you. (personality wise)
I'm so sorry this situation happened to you. Being cheated is never a nice feeling (I would know as I have been cheated on) and people don't deserve to be cheated on
“Of all people don’t apologize to me” when he said that to her was EASILY my favorite part of this video. He gives her the freedom to be herself, the good or bad and loves her so unconditionally.
😢
And the smile he had kind of finding it funny awww that’s a healthy relationship you can tell they’re fully supportive of each other & even though they can trigger each other, find comfort in being together 💕 couple goals for sure
They are so ridiculously adorable and wholesome together 🧡
wow so much unconditional love. he ticks and video still continues.
oh apparently he cheated on her lol. Feel intelligent?
When her told her she didn't need to apologize around him 😭😭😭😭
I noticed her apologizing a lot before and I was like “you’d think she’d realize she doesn’t need to apologize to someone that also has Tourette’s” but I get that it’s just out of habit cause I do the same thing
I know I stopped everything and told my cousin about it because it made feel so happy
AAAAAGHHHH MY BRAIN HURTS

I’m so glad I found your channel. My youngest (7) daughter who is also deaf ( aided) just got diagnosed with Tourette’s this summer. I have been trying my best to do research to see how I can help my daughter. I found your channel a month ago and really been enjoying your content. My daughter has watched some of your videos with me.
She really struggling why she can’t make her “Hickys” stop. The other day she told me she wanted to watch the pretty girl who was like her, meaning you. Thank you so much. I would love to her some content on how what’s best way to support a small child with Tourette’s.
I don’t have it, but my daughter (9) has adhd, and watching people with it helps her, my husband also has it but he doesn’t take meds for it like she does, channels like this are very good for this, she also has an early puberty and anxiety, I would like to thank everyone who educates people about stuff like this .
Zara Beth is a new channel that might help your daughter as well. She shows herself at school and talks about some of the problems she has had. And some show her friends hanging out with her.
I hope your daughter is living a good life tho
And Carly’s natural positivity all the way through it, obvious care for others and animals, shines through so easily making her even more beautiful! 🥰 she’s definitely a great role model for your daughter and other younger girls!
Yeah. Im SURE your daughter asked to watch "the pretty girl who is like her".
Why lie about such weird shit?
Youre cursing yourself by doing that, you know.
Totally understand the whole tone of voice thing. I have a whistle tic, but get this, Idfk how to whistle unless it’s a tic 😂
100%
I can relate about the whistle tic, I’m so jealous of my tic, I wish I could whistle without ticcing
I don’t have Tourette’s syndrome but I have tics from like stress and adhd and I think ocd according to my doctor and they’re really annoying because I was with my friend that has Tourette’s syndrome and she thought I was mocking her but I can’t control it
@@Fallvibes16 I'm sorry. I have tics but not tourrettes. It's hard to tell people that when it doesn't happen all day

The way you two speak to each other, is so respectful, kind, patient and loving. You both don’t even realise how much of an amazing example you are to other people in relationships. Complimenting him and calling him smart and him saying you don’t need to apologise. Wonderful examples of healthy communication.
And not just other Tourette’s relationships, but all relationships as a whole 💕
How do people find this.. seriously
@@akaSimplex It's very uncomfortable to watch and it all looks fake to a degree to me. I know it's real and believe I can pick the fakes, but it's just such a stupid looking/sounding illness, it also looks exhausting. I hate to admit it but I laughed out loud when he said something like “just fucking die” I’m sorry but I did laugh.
It kind of sounds like a bit of his own mind reacting to them. IE his brain is so fed up so it felt the need to say "We are actively FUCKING OFF, sorry, NO." I'm not saying it's fake or anything like that, I'm just remarking on that tic. Bc it kind of feels like a subconscious drip of what he was thinking. XD

Ticsandroses damaged the online understanding of Tourette’s syndrome; because of them, so many people who actually have Tourette’s get fakeclaimed by random people who think that they’re experts, and it makes me so mad.
Yeah :( I had a Tourette’s education channel and got bullied off TikTok for “faking” even though I have a diagnosis… it’s infuriating.

@@TiccingTogether you guys deserve the thanks. you have educated so many people on what living with Tourette's is like and why faking it is so immoral. keep up the great content❤
as a mother of a 25-year old son with tourette i absolutely LOVE your content!
i'm literally disgusted by people who fake tics and make the tourette syndrome "a thing" just for getting attention.
my son didn't go through so many painful examinations by doctors just for fun!
he didn't cry so many nights in fear by knowing the next days examination will sedate him, he will be pinched by needles just for attention!
and he didn't wanted to be bullied just because he was the way he was!
i'm crying right now...NOBODY who knows the living hell with tourette would make things up "for fun, fame and attention"
he went through very, very dark times...and i MEAN dark.
but now he is fine.
it's his 25th birthday today and i couldn't be more proud of him like i'm actually now.
i'm just a mum.
with a bleeding heart...😢
thanks for reading!
p.s.
from first symptoms (at 8 month old) 'til the fact of tourettes disease we - and especially him - needed 8 years to get through all of what medicine is able to diagnose.
Watching you guys suppress for that long was distressing 😓😓 I hope you're ok, take care of yourselves!
Within the first 2 minutes..fiance` : "should I be worried about my safety? No! your sanity!" OHHH KAAAY.... Love these two.

I don't know anything about Tourette's so I'm glad I found you guys! Congrats on the engagement :D
Interestingly, as someone with DID (a disorder that also gets faked a lot), this video is helping me vocalize how I can "tell". Much like y'all, I don't openly fakeclaim, because I can't technically "know", but there are things you recognize as someone who has it, and conversely, things you recognize are "missing"
I’m glad you found us too!!! I appreciate your insight ❤️
Not to make you uncomfortable but are you talking about Dissociative Identity Disorder?
(I am doing a little research about mental disorders, the reasons they occur, the impact on the person etc.)
@hebiiq yes, I have Dissociative Identity Disorder! I got diagnosed when I was 18, back in late 2016
@@snomberry Thank you for sharing!
I have OSDD1 (b, though that's not a proper medical term) and I pretty much feel the same. I hate fakeclaiming because some people do it with no research and end up spreading misinfo (mostly I only see people who don't actually have it fakeclaiming, aswell), but also yeah, there's certain things I see where it's like "yeah no, they either didn't switch or played it up for the camera" because holy heck if I can get the communication to get all my headmates in on playing up switches every time they front then give me a dang award.
I have tics due to my autism and severe anxiety, this channel has helped me understand so much about myself! It feels very validating to see you and your husband who are the same as me, it makes me feel so much less alone in this struggle. Thank you for your educational content! Love you
I have tics without Tourette’s too and I relate to a lot about it
Hi there! Autism and anxiety do not cause tics, I would recommend trying to see a neurologist if possible :)
@@thegrapeentity7662 that’s not true. All it takes is a quick google search to disprove what you just said
@@ferninthehouse I’ve spent a good amount of time looking into and researching tics/tic disorders. While anxiety and autism are commonly comorbid with tic disorders and can exacerbate symptoms, they are not a root cause for tics. Tics can also be caused by more serious issues, which is why it is generally a good idea to check in with a neurologist to make sure there is not a more threatening cause that may be manifesting in tics
@@thegrapeentity7662 According to my psychiatrist they do. I happen to trust a medical professional who has looked into my case specifically more than a random person on the internet
Is apologizing after a tic a tic of its own? Or is it more like, a reflex? Thank you two so much for this video! You guys are such a cute couple :’)
Could be both, or one of the other. It depends and it can be hard to tell, but it's really only something you can know.
I was wondering if it may be a tic in itself, it’s definitely possible but I also can see it being out of habit cause I do the same thing

"We are actively fucking off" 💀
I so relate to trying to replicate my tics on purpose and failing miserably. It's so interesting how the tic never fails to be so determined, even though its origin is completely subconscious and involuntary. And also putting effort into suppressing, instead of effort into ticcing!
I can’t imagine what you two go through on a basis living with this condition mentally and physically. Thank you for educating us about Tourettes.
You guys are the sweetest couple!
Thank you so much for being so open and honest about Tourette's, because it really helps educate people in a way that they can very easily understand.
I find it disgusting that people fake any disorder, it's appalling and pathetic. Why would anyone want to fake something that so many wish they didn't have? It makes no sense.
I have some health issues that I have always been open about, and I have had people start saying they have the same things wrong with them, but I know they're lying because they can't even fake the most basic symptoms. I have walked away from multiple friends because of it. I used to lose it when calling someone out on it because I would give anything not to have to live like this, and it honestly used to infuriate me, but now I just remove them from my life and carry on because I've gotten to the point where I feel that if they want to go around acting like they are in chronic pain, all the more power to them.
Every single one of them has been caught in their lies because they all tend to forget that they're supposed to be in pain 24/7, and they have no way of explaining how for that moment, they are perfectly fine.
If people want to make complete asses out of themselves just got sympathy they don't deserve, that's on them.
P.S. Congratulations on your engagement and baby frog. ❤️

"Of everyone don't apologize when you're with me" You guys are fucking adorable!😻
With tics and roses, wouldn't her motor tics also be repetitive? It looks like she does a different motion every time. Like, if she brushed her face every time she brushed her teeth you'd think she'd have a rash on her face or something. Idk I'm unfamiliar with tourette but I'm grateful for you guys being so open and honest about it 🧡
I'm a 16 year old with tourettes and seeing the evidence that proved that ticsandroses was clearly faking this disorder for attention and clout absolutely breaks me. While I'm trying to hold in my tics all the time and being embarrassed by each one of them, she's narcissistically mocking the disorder. And as someone who doesn't get offended over some really big things, I think what she is doing is outright horrible. 😭😭😭 I wish all people like her were exposed and ashamed.
I agree, what they did was really uncool. It’s not like people with real tics cab just turn them off after they’re done filming. Overall just very hurtful. Sending you love & good vibes ❤️

I’m studying psychology and neurobiology as a grad student right now. I would love to do research on how the brain looks during a tic in someone who has Tourette’s or any other tic disorder. You both mentioning the way the tonal difference in your voice during a vocal tic and muscle memory during your motor tics as being the the same every time they occur (and being unable to consciously replicate them) would be such a fascinating thing to see on a neuronal level. As a side note I hope you both take extra care of yourselves after watching these clips, it must be overwhelmingly exhausting to watch and hear. Congrats on the engagement by the way! ❤
Omg Will is adorable!! Also in a LDR here! Seeing you guys together really reminds me of why I'm trying so hard to push past my anxiety and fly to my man for the first time! Also thank you for this educational video. I don't have Tourette's, so I'm always learning on this channel. Just watching you two and the way that you have come to accept Tourette syndrome as just a part of your life and how you still manage to find the joy even in the awkward or seemingly uncomfortable or painful tics is awe inspiring to me. Instead of bemoaning how unfair it is you have to deal with it, you just go ahead and deal with it while also trying to educate people about it! Thank you so much for being you!
We have an employee who has Tourette syndrome and his involves mainly face tics and entire shoulder tics as well as some vocal noises including belching.
He has even admitted to tearing a muscle before when the tic got really bad and sometimes throwing out his back as well.
I can’t help but admire how strong all of you are! And we all need to remember that despite the syndrome. You are all still people like us, you just have a certain life circumstance that makes you seem “different”. So faking a condition like this is absolutely shameful for ticsandroses and I am glad that people are able to see the truth about this
I somehow missed the transition to fiance!!!! Congrats!! but also, I wanted to CRY with how goddamned adorable his saying that you don't ever have to apologise to him for your tics. so glad you both have someone who can love and support you!!!

“We are actively fucking off” will be on a t-shirt soon. I seriously love you guys.
My tics I just kind of move on after. I throw something and just go pick it up. I don’t giggle and go “oh look what my silly tics did”.
bro i love watching these videos so much. i don’t have tourette’s but i have anxiety tics all the time and they make me feel normal about my random twitches and jerks
I grew up with moderate Tics/Impulses until I got better with managing my ADHD and Anxiety around 10 years ago.
I now understand myself better, and why under stress I still get tics. It's painful, and so exhausting, I related to a handful or two of Both of your physical tics, and how tense every muscle gets when you suppresses them or go through them. I related to how tiring it gets. Thank you so much you guys. This has given me so much more comfort than I knew I needed.
Hey! A Lil person with tourettes here! I have a tip for you, actually. I don't know how much it will work on others, as it does vary from person to person but not too much. Supressing them is the worst feeling and I don't think I've ever done that because I feel like I will die of the feeling if I do. And I've found a way to get away from it, I guess that's why I can't do it. My best tip for you would be to let it all out. When it gets too painful and repetitive alot of the times, let the tics out. Whatever your tics are and what your urge is telling you to do, do it as aggressively as you possibly could, as hardest as possible and then just let your muscles relax. And you never have the feeling again. Or. You could try to find Lil ways to tense out (or ease) of your muscles. Little but tight tics can help to satisfy the urge sometimes too. The key is to identity what satisfies your urge and what helps your tic to go away. I saw it somewhere online too, about when you are getting tics and you want them to stop, you need to find the best way suitable for every situation to let them ease out and satisfy the urge so it goes away for a good time. Second biggest tip is, get your focus somewhwre else. Take a deep breathe after you let it out and ease out your muscles, sometimes I close my eyes and just try to feel the sweat on my body or features on my body or the warm air or cold air, or the atmosphere, etc.. it really helps to let it out. Relax your mind and just... Ease it out. Tell yourself you're free and okay. Completely free. And then distract yourself, do something that takes tou away, like listening to music, singing, watching a movie, a tv show, reading a book too, likr not only this, JUST ANYTHING THAT IS YOUR HELPER AND LETS YOI FORGET ABOUT TICS. Because one thing I've noticed is, when I'm in social gatherings, my focus is on the social part, the people, since I'm not too much of a outgoing person but want to be one day. And I want to act straight, be sharp and talk sharp and all those things. They keep me so focused on so many different intricate things that we all have in social gatherings, that makes me forget my tics and I basically don't tic even once sometimes as long as I'm there. Sometimes a Lil bit comes out thi but it's so easy to ease yourself and forget about that and not accidentally trigger more tics. Keep yourself busy too. Idk what might help you, it's totally unique to you, but there's definitely a couple common things that help all of us.
Again, I'm sorry if this is long but I can't stop myself from helping people with the same condition and problem as me. People in the same community. I don't find you guys very often and because I have it, I know exactly how it feels. And I'd do anything to make sure others have it as easy as possible, I'll do my best to help as much as I possibly could. I'm sure everyone else with this problem would do the same for each other. Ad it's a very hard journey, and we know how it feels and how hard it can, so why not atleast be together on it. ♥️
I'm sorry. but, i'm too distracted by Will's hair, it's so smooth and silky. And agreed, Tics and Roses are faking those tics for attention is just disgusting.

Thoroughly interesting and educational video. Thank you so much for putting yourselves through tics and roses and the increased tics yourselves to explain more about Tourette’s for us. Love seeing you guys together, you are a super cute couple. Xx
These videos help me a lot. I started noticing my tics about 1 and a half years ago and had started by thinking I was faking just because of the sum of people on tik tok who fake tics. I go through cycles of knowing I have tics just because they are really bad, and thinking I’m faking when they are subtle. The thought process of oh my brain is just making me do this thing because I’m lying. When that is actually just tics. The stigma around tics, and the people who do fake that make me doubt myself. I finally get to get a diagnosis this month though!
Similar experience over here. I am still questioning a lot because it started out with subtle ticks when I was 16/17 and it recently got worse at 21 and it confused me so much, I have huge Imposter syndrome bc of so many people faking it. Going to the doctor's soon to talk about it. Really glad you're close to diagnosis!

Thank you so much for all of this~! You two are ADORABLE! I would love you guys to interact with Sweet Anita, who also has Tourettes, and talk about y'all's experience!
"we are actively f**king off"😭😭

For anyone with the neck tightening tic; you can actually get injections that can help a lot. They're safe, not painful, and last for 3 months. You maintain full control of your neck and everything.... The only difference is that you can't tense up the ones in the very front (platysma). It disguises the tic visually from other people. It's also more comfortable physically. So if you're struggling with it, definitely worth discussing it with your doctor!
Wow I didn't know about that! Thanks for letting me know. I have really painful tics, some vocal and some physical. And it's sometimes really painful, the neck tightening one. Actually it is painful everytime it happens to me, as whenever it does happen to me, it's not light, it's quite severe. Tysm tho seriously. Anything that helps to stop this miserable tics is a huge help. But you can see from here, people with tics don't want them to happen. They take every possible opportuniity they could to supress them and stop them. What ticsandroses was doing was the opposite of that. It's true that people without it can't tell if they're faking it or not, but people who have it, can just tell. The subtle details and little things that only we know even tho we don't wanna. And it just screams to me that ticsandroses is extremely fake.
Good to know! I've thought about it but was nervous it would hurt a ton since the area is a bit tender. I may have to seriously look into it now! ❤
Me and my friend who has Tourettes were hanging out and we both picked up each others tics and it was CHAOS 😂
11:48 was just so wholesome!! ❤
Tics are consistent not random, I agree
Super insightful video!! It looked like the tic suppressing was getting exhausting though ): but thank you both for sharing all the nuances you experience with having Tourette's!
I’m just now finding you guys and this video is amazing! I agree as someone with Tourette’s vocal tics tend to have to same tone/timing to the same type of tic. My “fuck off” tic always is in the same tone but my “shit you” tic is more airy but still the same every time i say that one specificly
This video was great! My tics are a LOT like Will’s which I’ve never seen in other people before so I appreciate that a lot :)
Your channel has helped so many people. Thank you.
6:35 is one of the cutest moments ive ever seen on UA-cam, you two are perfect for each other.
I watched a documentary years ago called something like "i hsve Tourette's but it doesnt have me" and thats been my ONLY window to this affliction. That doc was Edited, and featured children. Seeing a fully grown couple, two people who have evolved with their tics over many years and learned the ins and outs of them, is a much more RAW view of Tourette's.
I didnt even know how much i didnt know about this stuff, you two are really amazing for bringing this to light.
We all know TicsAndRoses is fake, but we cant say WHY because we lack the knowledge to actually explain the gut feeling we get from watching her fake her tics. Y'all have brought some amazing attention to this, i appreciate you ♥️
I'm so glad I found ur channel u are so amazing and so strong. I personally don't have tourettes but I have severe depression and ptsd and I just love how u are so strong. That's why I look up to u for not letting ur illness keep u down. I hope that came out right
I love that whenever she/he finishes the other person’s sentence they high five 😂❤
Oh my god I had to drop in to say I LOVE the clip at the end! I have the Build-A-Bear frog too and also refer to him as mine and my partner's child 😂 Frog parent solidarity!!!!!!!! Love your videos!! 💖
Your insight, explanation and level of intelligence is awesome. Great content guys. Well done.
TicsandRoses seemed to think she was being quirky and cute. The difference between her performance tics and your genuine tics is obvious. Thank you so much for this vid. You guys are an amazing couple!
i obviously dont know much about tics, but one thing i’ve noticed between people that have been conffirmed to be faking and people who actually have it, is that the people faking will often tic, and then either laugh, think on it, and go about their day, and the people who actually have Tourettes get upset/physically distressed because of the tic’s interrupting, and also the repetition piece you mentioned, the fact that the vocal tics are almost always in the same tone/voice ! thats just what ive noticed, and if im wrong please let me know! again, im not an expert, and only have a few small tics i experience when im really anxious or overstimulated, but i would never claim to have tourettes or something more severe!
Your fiancé has got some aggressive tics, damn
You two have such genuine warmth and love towards each other. You are such a beautiful couple. ❤❤❤
These are actually really interesting points! I really related to the point about muscle memory tics. I have diagnosed anxiety, and during more severe anxiety spurts or stimming, I typically have two tics that come out. Both are physical, one is a head flop, and one is a wrist flick. The wrist flick was actually adapted because I wanted to find a way to stim without throwing out my neck any time I got that way. But you are absolutely right, the motion and severity is the same each time it happens, like muscle memory
Edit: I should say that the tics came from muscle spasming and shivers that I get when I become anxious- its a way of stimming to express nervous energy
"of everyone you do not appologize when you're with me" that have me butterflies
i have tourettes and i want a partner like that
My thing is why does it take someone like Billie eilish to have this medical condition for things like this to become normalized. Like where were those who fake things then when people were block-minded about things versus now when people think everything's cool
When I was a child, I was never educated on disorders. A kid in my elementary class ticked and I would get very mad at him and I told him to stop. He can’t. Now I’m aware of this.
Awesome that youve learned something new!
