Alfa Romeo Brera Bilstein B8 shock absorber installation!

- Hi guys, in this video the Brera gets a set of new Bilstein B8 shock absorbers installed as the old OEM shock absorbers needed to be replaced. The suspension gets also updated with all new OE rubber bushings, top mounts and dust boots as well. I went with the Bilstein B8 shock absorbers as they are specifically intended for cars with a lowered ride height. My car has H&R lowering springs and they pair nicely with the Bilstein B8 shocks.
Hopefully you like this video.

These cars deserve some love ;) If I may share some observations.. be careful with the copper grease, copper and aluminum don't like each other. Ceramic paste for brakes is better choice to prevent bolts seizing, but never put it on threads. Appreciate you are using a torque wrench, but using it for loosening bolts will damage it or it will be less accurate.
Thanks for the tip man! Appreciate it 🙏🍀
Looks great as usual. Can't wait for the handling review!
Thank you mate! 🙏🍀
great reference video, really appreciated,
🙏 Thanks a lot!! 🍀
Nice work man! I hope its not too hard - had the B8 in the GT, it was nor more comfort.
Thanks man! Would have to do more runs with it but so far it felt not too hard. Definitely harder than my 159 Ti, but it suits the Brera in my opinion. It gets more of a sporty ride with these B8 shocks. 🍀👌
Cool
Thank you for the informative instruction video. Any reason why you tighten the fork to lower arm first before the clamp of the shock (front)?
Thanks so much! 🙏🍀 yes could be donr the other way around also, but I prefer this as the clamp of the shock has a slotted hole which can be moved a bit into position easier
which wrenches did you use ? you are working carrifully tanks
@@ahmetyldrm1112 at what point in the video you mean?
@@939driver every time you are good jop. and i asked you which tolls did you use
@@ahmetyldrm1112 thanks bro! I use mostly Bahco, BGS, MannesMann tools
Another great video thanks !. Ive been thinking to re-do my shocks as well. How many kilometres had you done on your old shocks before replacing ? Do you know what the normal wear cycle would be expected considering its a pretty heavy car ? I bought my Brera with 60k on the clock and it's a pretty bumpy ride on Sydneys Terrible roads. Cheers.
Thank you man! I appreciate that 🙏🍀🇮🇹 My Brera has now 157.000 km on the odometer and the shocks were 17 years old. Not sure what the cycle would be exactly but my guess on the Brera would be around +/-15 years/150.000 km. Greetings from the Netherlands 🍀
Very good explanation .... what tires do you recomend for the Brera ?
Thank you I appreciate 🙏🍀 I have Pirelli P Zero Nero GT on the Brera, but on my 159 I have Pirelli Synergy tires and they are very nice. Comfort and sportiness and very silent.
