- Kalpataru which means a wish-fulfilling tree, is a manifestation of the architect’s longing for solace, for a sanctuary woven with nature's embrace, far from the cacophony of city life. Each brick laid, each beam raised, was a testament to the relentless pursuit of a vision; a vision of a home where the symphony of rustling leaves and chirping birds replaced the ceaseless hum of city streets.
Crafted from a deep reverence for organic beauty, this house is a haven of simplicity and natural grace. Its open floor plan stretches beneath a majestic timbrel vault, fashioned entirely from earthy terracotta tiles, devoid of steel or cement.
Nestled within, a central courtyard serves as the nucleus, embraced by the sacred pooja space, the bustling kitchen, and the cozy living area on three sides. But it is the stone moon arch that claims the soul of the home.
Fashioned from CSEB earth blocks, this house stands as a testament to sustainable living, embracing the earth's bounty with every brick. Its load-bearing structure speaks of resilience and harmony with the land. Inside, the embrace of Jaisalmer flooring blankets the spaces with a welcoming warmth, inviting all who enter to linger a little longer. Above, the Madras-style roof and filler slabs weave a narrative of sustainability, each element harmonizing with nature to create a home that not only shelters but nurtures.
The architect walks through the house giving an insight into how she used various vernacular and eco-friendly techniques to achieve what she had envisioned for her dream home.

Very distinctive almost quirky design taking our especial tradition along. Loved every aspect of the architecture and how effectively it has been conceived. Beautifully planned courtyard with kitchen opposite pooja room. Really loved the moon arch. Overall a great home and well explained home tour.

What about heat, rain dust, all these are good to watch, ehat about maintenance
Good question. Rain comes in but without touching any furniture. The furniture arround Courtyard is all stone. Since it's physically closed on all sides dust is not more than elsewhere.
Mam, you have a beautiful house..we are also planning to have open to sky courtyard. Could you please advise what kind of mesh you used or do you propose any other idea to protect from insects from top..kindly advise
We have used stainless steel 304 grade mesh. For insects that's a good protection and chances of rusting are less in SS 304.
@@jayarayaprolu674 thank you mam for your valuable response 🙏🙏🙏
Ma'am i have a small query since the entire kitchen and siting space is exposed to the courtyard, is there no issue of environmental interference like windes mosquito insects. or are ther structures that will close to keep the dust outside specially from the open kitchen.
It's enclosed on all sides and there is insect proofing through SS mesh. It's visible but not too visible.
Which locality is this? 2hat would be the land cost in this area?
Used lots of cement nd steel in pillars and lanterns
Cost?
Mud plaster that you guys used does it get washed in rains??😅
No it does not
What about Mosquitos 😢
Mosquitoe net is provided
Hindi me hai kya
I want to know what does one have to do to afford such a house in the first place?😂
total cost ?
