- It’s not often that a home blends the modern, the traditional, as well as the natural so seamlessly and so well. Named ‘Thotti Mane’ - A Kannada term that translates to Courtyard House, this tranquil abode maximises the limited plot size through its signature central courtyard. This becomes an epicentre for everyday activities, visual connections as well as hosting guests.
Situated in a rather peaceful Bengaluru neighbourhood, Thotti Mane creates an eye-catching first impression through its layered traditional façade. Like a place of worship, the journey through threshold spaces leads to the courtyard, around which the private and public spaces are centered.
Architects takes us through the home, breaking down the design process. They also mention how sustainability is at the forefront of this vernacular structure, utilising materials and elements that minimise carbon footprint.

I love this, especially how traditional the vibe is of this home. The architects having food with the family at the end was even more special, it's the small things that matter. I pray and wish our traditions are preserved like this for centuries to come.
