It's even cuter if you consider that Greg really admires his older brother, and that's why he also has appreciation for music and arts, in his own way. ☘︎
If I'm being honest I used to treat my little brother quite poorly, seeing how Writ changed to take care of Greg over the series really helped me learn to treat him better
It’s not fan made. The blasting company did all the music for the show and it’s clearly Elijah Wood talking and some special editions of the box set came with the “for Sara” tape.
this is literally so poetic in everyway possible. What I mean is that the song he plays on the clarinet at the beginning of this tape is the exact same music we hear as we begin each episode. This means that this song is diegetic (the song exists in the character's world as well as the audiences' world). Same with the outro. I love this so much. The details are just so beautiful. I cant wait to see what Patrick McHale will do next for his upcoming series. I hope he works with the Blasting Company again
Ok, I just realized something while listening to this by a second time and in minute 8:33 when Wirt starts improvising is like he´s writing the poem while recording because of the "click" sound in the background like the sound of these pens you know? Well I don´t know maybe I´m wrong but it´s just a detail that made me think a little, Wirt is so cute tho :,)
“One day I went to the rivers edge and dipped my head inside. I felt so alive and I was free I could see all the fishes shining bright and watch the weeds bob and weave beneath specks of light. I was night and I could see the moon shine from down above. Oh boy, I think I’m in love.” Am I the only one who thinks this isn’t about Sara? Wirt's poetry is simple and genuine. You can tell that he sees so much meaning and beauty in the simple things of life and the calming importance of nature
Greg's poetry may be adorably silly, but given that he wrote and came up with all of that when he was only 6, I think it's really impressive! It sounds to me like he picked up quite a bit of his wordplay and descriptive abilities from Wirt, and it makes me hope that he developed a similar passion for poetry and writing as the boys continued to grow up.
Honestly I come listen to this tape whenever I feel anxious or worried because it comforts me, makes me feel warm and makes me feel safe. Wirt as a character is very relatable to me as I am the girl who likes to philosophize about the world and observe every small detail that many don’t appreciate. This poetry speaks to me and the music and authenticity of Wirt’s nervous reading of his poetry is just very comforting. Being around Wirt’s age also makes this tape more significant to me as it makes me feel loved as I sometimes imagine if I were to receive this tape from a guy like him. The show as a whole is very comforting and enjoyable so this tape is simply an extension of the amazing world of Over the Garden Wall ✨🐸

@@Pulvrk1n-ti5hp let's just think that Wirt already has another tape that recorded all of his dad's, before recording over it 🥲🥲
they really put so much into this tape to make it feel so authentic and homey. wirt as a baby, greg interrupting and then doing his own lil poem. greg is good at poetry and music too, considering he sings two songs on the soundtrack!
this is genuinely beautiful, i love everything about otgw. it makes me feel so happy and warm. i wanna hug everyone involved. elijah wood and collin dean both really did an unbelievable job.
Yeah, it's a very feel-good kind of series. I would even say it's a physical representation of the feeling of nostalgia
It's even cuter if you consider that Greg really admires his older brother, and that's why he also has appreciation for music and arts, in his own way.

I'm even more in love of a fictional character, love you Wirt 💕
Oof sadly he will never be real
Butter Face he is real in my heart 💖
oh my sweet chicken nuggets....
try to get out of that level please i find him adorable but im not even close to that level
spaghetti it was sarcasm haha
I love this show I love these characters and I love wirt
for me its haunting and great at the same time. Sorry, 1980's tech scares me at times with the static and the white noise.
If I'm being honest I used to treat my little brother quite poorly, seeing how Writ changed to take care of Greg over the series really helped me learn to treat him better
How did Elijah keep a straight voice through this I would die instantly
my name is sara now and nobody can convince me otherwise
LOL
"I have five fingers!... to... grasp.. your love!"
I love wirt so much
@@kordenlan230 you just ruined my night lmao
It isn’t fan made! This is official
@@kordenlan230 nah, The Blasting Company made this and they made all the music for OtGW, plus that's clearly Elijah Wood talking
@@bubblyskys3760 it's not fan made dw
It’s not fan made. The blasting company did all the music for the show and it’s clearly Elijah Wood talking and some special editions of the box set came with the “for Sara” tape.
When Greg interrupted his original clarinet solo, I lost it. So beautifully accurate!
“Two shoes to stand by you” oml that sounds so sweet. Sara is so lucky
3:54 damn as a clarinet player, mad respect for hitting that high note so seamlessly.
THIS IS THE MOST ROMANTIC SHIT I HAVE EVER SEEN 😭😭😭
this is literally so poetic in everyway possible.
He's making a new series? that's cool!
It might be or it is embarrassing but we should still think about the hardships and workings of all the people who hepled to make this. I like it.
Greg and Wirt are my last 2 braincells, I love them sm
Ok, I just realized something while listening to this by a second time and in minute 8:33 when Wirt starts improvising is like he´s writing the poem while recording because of the "click" sound in the background like the sound of these pens you know? Well I don´t know maybe I´m wrong but it´s just a detail that made me think a little, Wirt is so cute tho :,)
I think you’re right!!
I thought he was snapping 😂

Elijah Wood's earnestness and awkwardness really makes this
As an author myself...

IM SWOONING
“One day I went to the rivers edge and dipped my head inside. I felt so alive and I was free I could see all the fishes shining bright and watch the weeds bob and weave beneath specks of light. I was night and I could see the moon shine from down above. Oh boy, I think I’m in love.” Am I the only one who thinks this isn’t about Sara? Foreshadowing him falling into the water and almost drowning.
Genuinely, if someone made something like this for me I’d probably immediately fall in love
This is my favorite show of all time, I’m collecting all merchandise from OTGW. So far I have the record, the first comic book, plus I made a wirt costume.
There is not enough merchandise in my opinion! I so want this tape! 😂
I have thE SCISSORS AND A ROCK FACTS ROCK >:)
this comment is so fucking old but where can i buy the record???? i want it so badly 🥺
For next Halloween (possibly my last) I’m gonna try to dress up as the highway man and if anyone asks who I am I’m going to sing it to them
I love how this is on my suggested again in September 2023
Unfortunately it's 2024 not 2023

Okay but Gregs poetry is probably the cutest thing ever.
Wirt's poetry is simple and genuine. You can tell that he sees so much meaning and beauty in the simple things of life and the calming importance of nature
This is adorable. what a love struck little nerd.
I think this shows that i shouldnt be afraid of showing what I know and what I do. Even tho I think its very persornal. Since last year, i have be trying to not be so shy, bc, maybe someone will like it, who knows
Over the garden wall was a masterpiece, and I think we will never have something like it again
