the mallet instrument you were talking about is commonly known as a hammered dulcimer (credited in the shows pamphlet as a cimbalom)! it’s really fun to play actually haha. and at 11:06 the song is schubert’s serenade and that instrument is a bassoon! it’s similar to a clarinet but has a much deeper sounding lower range and has a double reed instead of a single :) hope that helped!
Ten years already? I love that its so self contained, but i just wish there were more stories. One of my favorite pieces of media (read: art) ever, and thats a rock fact!!!🍂🎃🎃🍁
Seriously though right?! I almost remember watching this series as a kid like it was yesterday, and yet 10 years have already passed!!! So Amazing, yet so surreal… This show was the first miniseries I ever watched in my life, I didn’t even know what a miniseries was before I watched Over the Garden Wall, and yet it turned out to be so much better than I could have imagined. Not only because of its excellent use of storytelling and wonderful setting of the Mood and Tone of the show, but also because of the interesting yet Alluring aspect of how the plot of the story unfolded itself, as well how the characters would interact and develop themselves alongside each other in such a natural progression and harmony of Humor and Melancholic Foreboding with the hidden Danger of The Beast lurking behind the scenes and the Woodsman failing to convince Wirt and Greg that they were falling into The Beast’s clutches. It’s just such a Fantastic and yet Revitalizing spin on the old Classic American Folklore of Old English Fables and literature made alive through the power of Animation. There’s just something about it that’s just inherently… Fall-Like… if that makes any sense… Honestly when I first watched it as a kid, the show gave me Gravity Falls vibes, mostly because of the artstyle being kinda similar in my head, so I watched it thinking it may have been created by the same person who made Gravity Falls, and boy oh boy… Did I Enjoy my Journey through the Unknown… Eventually I came to learn about the fact that it was not in fact related to Gravity Falls and that it was instead made by a guy named Patrick Mchale. Who coincidentally (I think) attended the same Art-College as Alex Hirsch. But even so… the Mark Over the Garden Wall left upon me, and how it shaped my impression of what a Mini-Series should look like, was absolutely Magical. And I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better way to pass the time in my boring house than Watching Wirt and Greg travel across the Woods, Into The Unknown, where Mystery and Adventure lied in wait… As they vanquished the evil Beast once and for all and set the Woodsman free, returning home safe and sound with their precious Frog: Jason Funderburger 🐸 What an awesome Show it was… 🍂🍁 🎹 (Sorry for rambling too much, I really need to drop this habit of typing a whole essay in the UA-cam comments section LOL! 😅 It’s just not practical!)
You used to float on through half-moon darkness Close enough with death to feel alive When the cosmic songs of guardian angels led a star-crossed mystic soldier towards the dawn The angels have gone The songs have gone silent You're sinkin' like a stone before the tide The river runs cold, the fight is over Still the haunted ruins of night call your name Let empires fall Let our feathers float softly We've only to be weightless and to breathe
Thank you so much for sharing this ❤ I’m crying huhu I’m a fan from the Philippines and this is truly the only way I could watch this (I doubt they’ll have concerts here huhu)
Thank you so much for this, you have truly made my day! If only I could have been there. Did they happen to mention anything about colin dean or melanie lynskey in relation to the event?

That's definitely not me sitting in front of my computer, singing "Come Wayward Souls" out loud, with tears in my eyes
One of my favorite concerts ever, truly a magical night i cant believe i actually got my hands on tickets :')
I watched "Over the garden wall" for the first time exactly on November 3, 2024 -- the 10th anniversary of this animated series
Don't forget the little stop motion 10 years special
same here!! i cant believe ive only heard about it a week ago, it's so good!
Loving how the audience catches the singer off guard for a few seconds at 1:38:41 😂😂😂
seeing the potatos and molasses lyrics written in latin next to the very solemn and grim come wayward souls is extremely funny
Can’t wait for tomorrow fellow pilgrims
What's tomorrow? Or rather two days ago? The animated short?
@@adamnomdeplum3yeah but it was only like 3 minutes long, unless I missed something
@@jmcieslak0they said it would be 2 minutes, we got a whole extra minute

Like Ships Official Extended version
Ft. Elijah Wood & Shannyn Sossamon
Here we are
Two of us
Like ships upon a winding river
And yet somehow
We found each other
Like strangers
you and I
Should I say
Whats on my mind
As we fall aside by side
Or would my voice
shake the water so
That she would leave
that he would run
Away from me
but Here we are
Two of us
adrift upon a silent river
And yet somehow
Our paths keep forming
Together
you and I
