The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has my WHOLE heart! - Фільми й анімація
Watching this I cringed at the part where I said this dude was the best green goblin. That goes to Dafoe. I’m a dumbass. I apologize. 😂🤦🏻♂️
It gets even more awkward when you said today is a Marvel Monday and this video comes out on a Wednesday.
Yes Willem Dafoe is the best green Goblin
I don't know why you said that guy is the best green Goblin 😂😂😂
Venom 1 & 2
i honestly love this harry osborn bc he fits the rich boy with bad social skills
nah, never change your opinion cause of others. this green goblin was hard rock and dark as septic shit
Gwen's death is just brutal, and Garfield's acting is darn devastating when it happens.
Fun fact: Andrew isn't acting in that scene: them tears be real. 😭
Darn 😂
Weren't they dating at the time? I could see that having a rather massive effect on his performance!
@Jkfozul yep they were so id imagine him seeing her die actually affected him
And the way he brings that pain back out almost a decade later is insane.
I will never understand why there was so much hate for the amazing spider-man movies. They are amazing. I love them.
an aspect was the amount of villians and then green goblin is just kinda weird
Fr, I love them too
@@NonsensicalSpudzyea but Jamie Foxx Electro is one of the best villains ever imo
@@NonsensicalSpudz I just think it's weird as people consider Rhino as a villain that takes time in the movie when he almost only appears as a cameo. I don't think that it had too many villains. Imo opinion had 2 and I agree that a few changes could have been done to the script to justify Harry a bit more. Like make one or two scenes where it shows that the "Osborn Curse" is worse with him than it was with his father to emphasize why he was so desperate to find a cure and justify his recklessness in his decisions.
But still, I find it weird how people complain about the amount of villains when there are only two and one that only appears in a chasing scene at the start and at the last scene where it could have been any othe villain. They only decided that Alexei was the one at the end to give fans a sweet tease at what's coming next and so they could use that time as a set up for future movies instead of using some random criminal.
That's because the villains are too hilarious. Look at OG spiderman. That green goblin still stands. William Dafoe made an impact for sure.
The thing about Gwen Stacy is that, in any version of her, in any story told, she is Peter's first love, and she is always his biggest grief. In the comics after he makes a life with MJ, he would still go every day into his attic and talk to her, her old recordings he had of her, and MJ knew this and supported him through it all. That's Gwen Stacy's story in any version of Spiderman. It's heartwrenching, and she is one of my favorite characters above all, I don't think I'll never not cry while watching this film, or any other that Gwen Stacy is a part of
That's also why having her exist at the same time as MJ in Spiderman 3 just to be used as a drama plot device was beyond insulting to the source material. I think people would have hated that movie at least a chunk less if not for that.
@Verasoul Shailene Woodley would've been MJ in a potential 3rd Amazing Spider-Man, since her scenes in TAS 2 had been deleted from this movie.
This made me cry 😭💔
Ben is his biggest grief. Gwen is second.
Peter also visits the place where Gwen dies every valentines day, atop George Washington bridge to put a rose on it. No one knows. Just him, and he doesn't make a big deal out of it. Spider-Man Blue hits very hard.
This was actually such a better movie than people give it credit for.
The villains were god awful. Jamie foxx was good but the rendering of electro was so shit. And Harry was also crap. But the rest... Gwen's death is heart crushing
It has problems and Sony was doing a DCEU to set up future projects but I agree
It's actually pretty damn good. I personally think they did an awesome job.
“Literally there every time to catch her fall” I burst out laughing 😭😭
"That one didn't age quite so well!"
That cut me deep
When I tell you, my jaw dropped off the floor and I literally said out loud “except when it matters”🤣💀
🤣😭
My reaction was, oh the foreshadow there is not what you think it is.
"You're not gonna lose her, you have to be together at the end of the movie" *my face when Alex terribly jinxes it*
Also at 22.55 he says "literally always there to catch her fall" 🤦🏻♂️
@@davidmcwilliams7522
well he did catch her...but even that wasnt enough
The Death of Gwen Stacy is literally one of the most famous moments in comics, and every time I see the way they did it on screen it hits me - not only because Emma Stone is amazing or because of their chemistry, but because Garfield really puts you in the perspective of a guy who can do anything but is just reduced to nothing when he realizes that nothing he can do can bring her back. One of the most crushing deaths in a comic book movie, imho.
Comics were still better because it didn't show her hit her head. Peter's guilt was even greater because he didn't know if her neck snapped from the fall or from him catching her and stopping her momentum. She would have died either way, but that still weighed on him.
36:30 that was entirely Emma's Stone's doing, it was not even in the script, that was her and she was supposed to yell Spider-Man, but she just yelled Peter completely out of the blue and the directors decided to leave it in for such a genuine reaction to what she just went through
I am too lazy to write comment about that fact so I was searching for it to leave a like
I love that they framed Gwen's death like a cliche character dies but not really scene where youre waiting for her to open her eyes and then she just... doesnt. Its such a brilliant shot
i went to see this opening weekend. i wasnt familiar with the comics, so i had no idea about gwens death. even after seeing her clearly smash her head on the floor, i expected her to open her eyes. its a damn shame we never got an amazing spiderman 3.
I saw this knowing about the comics but I didn’t think they would actually pull the trigger considering the chemistry Garfield and stone had so I was still shocked and thought wait did they actually do it
@@saeres9288 frr
dude watching their behind the scenes clip of them do a "normal kiss" is insane, those two together were perfect@@terogates1
A little known fact. Gwen"s outfit when she died, was the same as it was in the comic. I really loved these two movies.
Yeah, talking to a friend afterwards, he said he saw that outfit and went 'Ohhh, so we're doing The Death Of Gwen Stacy then!'
Also, when the gears lock up, the clock stops at 1:21...a direct reference to the comics where Gwen dies in issue 121
Damn, watching these again makes me think the potential this universe had. In this they introduced Felicia (Black Cat) and Smythe, who invented a ton of spiderbots. All the tech we were shown, like Octavius' tentacles. I just wish they continued with Garfields Spiderman and its universe.
I mean they clearly wanted another movie, with Rhino being introduced too. And maybe they would have got it, but MCU bought the rights shortly after this one I think
@CrazeeAdam If I'm not mistaken, the only reason Tom got hired to play Spider-Man was because Andrew got fired after not showing up to an event that was supposed to be the announcement of the 3rd film but also this movie got bad ratings so that didn't help either. There were no Sony/MCU deals at that point.
@@CrazeeAdam The MCU did not buy the rights. Spider-Man movie rights are owned by Sony Pictures & nothing can happen with the character on film unless Sony agrees to it. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 divided critics & fans but it wasn't a flop.
However in 2016 the then head of Sony was going to announce TASM 3 with Andrew Garfield but Andrew arrived late in Brazil & felt to ill to attend a big presentation.
Garfield's decision not to attend presumably annoyed the execs at Sony & after that The film was axed and so was Andrew. The infamous Sony hack of 100's of emails revealed this to be the case shortly followed by Sony going into negotiations with Marvel Studios to loan Spider-Man into The MCU in Civil War
I don't know how or why these movies didn't do well with the public. They were both "amazing." And they were attempting to do something that the Raimi series never did. Bring us the sinister 6.
@@matthewandrews3883 the biggest factor has to be nostalgia about Raimi movies and negative criticism about the lore such as the spider bite only working on Peter because of his blood when the purpose of comics was that anybody can be Spider-Man. Let’s not forget that whichever project Avi Arad touches is meant to doom.
I love that when he’s protecting the kid from the bullies you hear the news cast about the big bombastic save but we are seeing what truly makes Spider-Man amazing.
Seeing Venom 1 and 2 would not be critical to understanding No Way Home, but there is information revealed in No Way Home that expands ones understanding of how the various Spider-Man-related characters all exist relative to one another, including Venom, so it would be nice to have a familiarity with the character and his story line.
Exactly
Thank you very well explained 💯👍👍
Eh, Venom shows up in an after-credit scene... You won't miss anything by saving the after-credits scene until after Venom 1 / 2
@@gorramgomer yep
holy shit pls no, not only are the movies bad but do we need 2 more weeks of delay? we been waiting for NWH since January
Andrew Garfield will forever be my favorite spider-man and that will never change
Same 😍
AMEN
Same. Underrated and screwed I always felt terrible for him he was my favorite.
He's by far the best actor to have played Spiderman
I absolutely love Tom as Spider-Man but before he came along, Andrew was my Spider-Man. I hated the Tobey Spider-Man movies. Imo, the only thing those movies got right was the casting choice for the villains (minus Venom. Wtf was that, right?). Andrew's acting was perfect and I think the only reason these movies got any hate was because people don't like change.
FINALLY! Someone who is singing Dane DeHaan's praise as Harry! He's so so good in the role!!! He's such an underrated and fantastic actor!
loved him on chronicle as well such an under rated movie
I didn't understand the hate for him either. He is 20, dad died, found out he is dying, and can't get help from SM. He went down a dark spiral and was alone pretty much. He portrayed that very well IMO. He was good in chronicle and Life after Beth.
@@TheChristXYzHis part in this film actually led me to Chronicle! Sick movie
This is honestly my favorite Spider-Man movie. I knew from reading the comics as a kid that Gwen was going to die, but it still hit me so hard.
I like these movies because they gave out issues of the comics at my theater it's such a core memory lol
I love that you tried to imagine a British spider-man when 2/3 of them are British.
Right 🤣🤣🤣
I like this movie. Saw it twice in theaters. I didn't realize it was hated until years later.
I still like it
Exact same for me
I think the hate for this movie still came from the idea that Tobey was the better Spiderman to a lot of people. I've never liked the first 3 Spider-Man movies. Andrew was my favorite until Tom came along. I do think that there were definitely things in this movie that could have been better (I don't like the way that Electro and Harry were portrayed) but overall it's still a great movie and a lot of that has to do with the chemistry between Emma and Andrew (which Tobey and Kirsten just didn't have imo).
From someone who hates this movie... It's the actor that plays Harry. He sucks. He sucked In chronicle. He sucked in valerian. He's a shitty actor. And the chemistry between Peter and Gwen Stacy is fucking CRINGE. The acting is all over the top cheese. Paul giamatti probably the dumbest role he's ever played.
@@quinnzelreign8775 I think all Spider-Man’s have things they’re good at. I thought tobey did the best job as being Peter Parker and showing the struggles of a teen balancing being a superhero. Those movies had a lot of heart. Same thing with Andrew but I feel Andrew was a great Spider-Man possibly the best. Tom just wasn’t that great till like no way home where he came into his own.
@@quinnzelreign8775 I'll never understand why people like Tom so much. He annoys the hell outta me with his over the top Mickey Mouse sounds and jittery personality.
I'm so damn mad that Andrew didnt got a third movie. Tobey was my first spiderman when I was a kid, but Andrew is a next level, graphics, moves .. everything was perfect. I really wish Andrew had a third movie
Visually no Spider-Man movie can top this one. Its so cool and vibrant and fun to look at. No matter the hate these movies HAD, I will always love them the most. (no respect to Toby I love him as the OG). Also there is a Deleted scene where Peters dad meets him at Gwen's grave. A crazy emotional scene i wish they hadn't taken out but i guess it makes sense.
The fact that the movie starts with the gears of a clock turning, knowing that ending 😭
In the clock tower scene, when the gears lock up, the clock stops at 1: 21...a reference to the original Amazing Spider-Man comics where Gwen dies in issue 121
Andrew Garfield's take on Spider-Man was impeccable. His snarky remarks, even in the heat of the fight, we exactly what we saw in the comics. Garfield is my favorite Spider-Man for sure.
this is my favorite spiderman movie ever, by difference. I even cried watching Gwen's death for the 10th time in this reaction. This movie it's just something else...
Even though something bad happened in this one it's still a favourite to watch. Also has the best soundtrack out of all Spider-Man movies.
#IBlameAviArad
Best soundtrack!!!
Electro’s song…I had to download that immediately!
Thats Hans Zimmer on the score!! Thats why its so good! He never misses
Best soundtrack?!? You’re high
That opening swinging scene with Spider-Man is legendary, The Amazing Spider-Man has the best swinging scenes. Gwen & Peter will always be my favorite, that end scene breaks my heart & destroys me emotionally every single time!!! If you watch the two Venom movies before No Way Home, awesome. If not, it’s not a big deal but they are definitely a must watch whether it’s before or after No Way Home. You’ll just see how Venom & Eddie Brock is done right by Tom Hardy compared to that horrible Venom/Eddie Brock in Spider-Man 3
@@itsnotmeitsyou7615 the 00’s looked like a doll swinging around
@@itsnotmeitsyou7615 all scenes. The trilogy was the definition of shit
Both TASM 1 & TASM 2 are masterpieces to me and it's so sad that they didn't continue with Andrews story arc. Miss this franchise so much. Means so much to me.
My favorite Spider-Man movie! Coming from a person who used to be a Raimi Fan, this movie has anything a Spider-Man fan might need.
The music, the colors, the story, the suit, the sound design, the action, the drama..
Electro is unironically a great villain, and chemistry between Harry and Peter is so genuine, and his transformation into Goblin is terrifying
You have so much more energy and fun watching a movie than anyone else I've ever seen. I love it.
You should watch Puggapillar. He’s hilarious and a good reactor as well!
Thank you 😂🎉
@@alexhefnerstvmovievault I cry when Gwen dies
@@alexhefnerstvmovievault my guy you need to watch both the Venom movies starring Tom Hardy also in order to get what's going on in No Way Home. Or else some parts of it might be like you were away from home for. No pun intended 💀
@Pushkar Chakrabortty u can completely understand no way home without watching venom
The Venom movies are worth watching, but have no relevance to No Way Home. They will likely be relevant to the next Spiderman movie, but they don't need to be watched before No Way Home.
They are really are not worth watching except to laugh at. They are so bad.
Yes they do. Remember the post credit scene and it won't make any sense well maybe some but it takes place after the second Venom movie.
@@robert_5974 They didn’t No what the hell they were doing with that. May as well erase any post credit scenes with Venom with the way they retcon shit.
@@RevJ7 We’re not laughing with you, we’re laughing at you.
@@robert_5974 The post credit scene is setting up the next Spiderman movie, and has nothing to do with the plot of No Way Home. All it shows is how venom got into the MCU, and it has barely anything to do with the venom movies. You really don't need the backstory to understand it. Maybe they'll be relevant for the next movie, but definitely not for No Way Home.
To see someone who doesn't know the Gwen Stacy lore and how impactful her death was for Spidey... Worth watching you experience it and learn about it!
the clock stopping at 1: 21...
This is probably my favorite Spider-Man movie of all time, it's so well shot, the story is great and leaves little to no loose ends. This movie is so underrated and doesn't deserve the hate it gets.
I also liked that movie but i can also see why its disliked. Its just too bloated. They should have just focused on one main villain, either Harry/Goblin or Electro. Especially since they had to establish the whole relationship between Peter and Harry from the scratch in the movie the rivalry between them just felt very forced, just as the Rise of Electro. But other than that this movie is just great.
@@LegioXXI I agree that somethings could have been cut and that if they were going with the two villains choice to adapt Gwen's death they could have added scenes where it shows that the "Osborn Curse" is worse with Harry than it was with Norman to emphasize why he was so desperate to find a cure and justify his recklessness in his decisions, but still, I think it was really well handled.
Some things like Peter's plot with his father really do bloat the film a bit but then we would not have gotten one of my favourite scenes where Peter and Aunt May talk about it in Pete's room and where the two brilliant actors deliver such a powerfull scene. I just think the revelation that the Parkers blood is what makes the spider venom work could have been cut tho but still think they could have done the Peter trying to get closure about his past like they did.
You don't really don't need to see Venom before No Way Home.
Awesome reaction man, I've been waiting for it. I feel Andrew Garfield Spider-Man is underrated.
Garfield Spidey was underrated. Whole-heartedly agree.
Hans Zimmer knows how to set the right tone
The scene where electro is in the billboard and then releases that huge blast of energy... the music in that moment is SO GOOD
That's why the music is epic AF in this, Hans zimmer scored it, I honestly hadn't known that until now.
Fun fact: The scene at 8:51 was Andrew’s idea to put in the movie. I don’t think spiderman movies have enough moments like this to show he’s out there for the little people.
Easily the best “friendly neighborhood Spider-Man” scene we’ve ever had in these movies.
This movie hurts. I love these 2 films but I can't watch this one anymore I got teary eyed just watching this reaction let alone watching the whole film again!
I picked up a phrase when I was younger and this movie fits it perfectly: "you never see spiderman smile, heroes make other people smile"
Peters story is always filled with heartache in every rendition of the character, he hurts so other people don't have to. Losing Gwen is part of what makes him who he is, just as uncle Ben turned the boy into a man, Gwen turns the man into a hero.
It's Wednesday brother, kidding though. There is a great scene of Richard Parker actually surviving, but was understandably cut out as it was after Gwen's funeral. Andrew's performance was really great in the scene. Gwen's death was almost straight from the comics, if you didn't know. Emma and Andrew were together at the time, so their chemistry was genuine and real. I'm pretty sure you don't know of Black Cat, Felicia Hardy (villian/anti-hero love interest of Spider-Man), she was the girl who told Harry about the spider venom. Speaking of Venom, if you want to watch a much better portrayal of Venom then watch the movies before or after No Way Home.
Venom breaks the back of Batman, silly!
he recorded it on monday
No joke; if you want to watch a great portrayal of Venom, watch the movie Upgrade!
You actually made me love this movie! As for Venom, you can skip them. No Way Home is nuts. I can't wait for you to see it.
W take! Feels great to finally see some ody who didn't like this movie before, realize how good this movie actually is in its own right.
Andrews spiderman story is written more through emotions and relationships. His story/version is written to be 'the friendly neighborhood spiderman'. This is shown in the various shots showing him helping that kid in the alleyway with the bullies and more. It doesn't follow the comics to the T but who cares man.. (take the Last of Us for example)
These movies and their stories are told in different ways, and they provide details in the plots of the other Spiderman movies. The actors and cast sold this movie like no other. I'm just glad to see somebody realize and accept this movie! I have too many friends who want to stomp on my opinions for liking these movies and this version of spiderman. Personally Andrew is by far my favorite, but I won't shy away from giving the others their credit as well..
Tobey was the OG, and the best Peter Parker. Andrew is the best Spiderman by far. Tom is decent at both, but is closer to canon of comics because it's the MCU version of Spiderman?
Just my opinion, but I'm glad you can enjoy this movie and all it offers now!
@@slycooperfox5050 After No Way Home, my love for Garfield's performance was greatly enhanced. I love both of his movies. Spider-Man is one of my favorite characters. I love Garfield's Spider-Man. I think Holland is my favorite overall. This movie is excellent though.
@@danw4490 I'm glad we get to enjoy it together bruv! Like I said, hearing your opinion change is a breath of fresh air. Too many people I know have dogged on Andrew and both of his movies for no reason. And NWH I think definitely changed a lot of people's opinions on Andrews version of Spiderman which was also great.
Gwens speech at the end together with the score finally enabling Peter to fully inhabit Spider-Man 🔥
Always get goosebumps when the camera pans down to Peter looking at his mask
At 36:30 that’s a genuine reaction from Emma Stone when she accidentally ad libbed, “Peter!” and realized she wasn’t supposed to say his real name. It worked so well they left it in.
The power of reactions are in the palms of our hands. Next week is the big one: Spider-Man: No Way Home. It won’t be along until Addie Counts reacts to that one as well.
Again, if you’re interested there’s an extended version on digital. However, you’ll need to ask someone who’s already seen it to buy/rent it and press play for you.
It would've been wild if both of them dropped the reaction to NWH around the same time... but like, Addie Counts' vid will drop on YT a week after Alex's vid does, that is, if he doesn't decide to watch them Venom movies.
I have a feeling buddy might not like nwh
OMG LETS GO, MY FAVORITE SPIDER-MAN MOVIE IS HERE LETS GO.
I’m hoping to god they make a third movie at some point:
Loved how Gwen was portrayed in these movies. She really was special to Peter.
My heart SANK in the first movie when Peter decided to ignore her fathers last wish. It was such a sweet moment, until he said that some rules are made to be broken or whatever it was that he said. My smile disappeared, and my brother, who doesn't know what happens, said, "that doesn't sound good"
TASM 1 & 2 was too underrated.. I'm one of those few who loves this movie. This version receives many backlash but hey its super dope and great movie and I'm glad people starts to recognize this take
People shouldn't blame Marc Webb for the failure of this franchise
They should blame AVI ARAD for stuffing so many characters for the sake of toys sales
Agreed
Too bad it’s the worst spidey film
Not the best but far from a failure i still wish they make a 3rd lol

16:02 that particular 'Ground rules' scene has a beautiful essence.. the soundtrack 'I choose you' acting of both Emma and Andrew makes it a real worth to remember.. ❤🎧
I think what hurts Peter the most is that Gwen's dad specifically told him to stay away, Peter didn't really, and there were consequences. :(
Andrew's Spider-Man loses the most arguable though to this point. Both his parents, uncle Ben, Gwen, Harry :( at least MJ is still alive in the Toby movies, and Tom has his friends, Happy, etc. This version of Peter has only May.. :(
Even though I knew her death was going to happen from the comics, hearing her head hit like that messes me up every time I see it. I loved both emma stone and Andrew Garfield in this. There off-screen attraction really came through in the movie. I'm super stoked for your reaction to no way home!! Keep em coming!
If you didn't know, Gwen's death in the comics hit just as hard, and actually an incredible marking point in Comic history. This death is marked as the end of the Silver Age of comics, and the beginning of the Bronze Age, where characters and stories grew more serious and had darker plots- this was a major time where a hero failed to save their love interest, and the hero being partially at fault as well.
Eh not really. Yes, it hit hard but it happened 3 years into the bronze age of comics. The reason it hit so hard was that it was so sudden, it wasn't built up, it wasn't foreshadowed, it just happened. What made it hit was that it was more realistic.
Not just that. The ending song by Hans Zimmer - Rest Of My Life (gwen death) 😭💔
Shailene Woodley's (Divergent, The Fault in Our Stars, Big Little Lies) role as Mary Jane was cut out.
You don’t need to watch Venom before NWH. You might miss out on a little bit of reference in one of the end credit scenes, but there’s nothing about the movie that you’ll miss if you haven’t seen them. I say jump right into No Way Home after this!
Just watched the end credit scene of Venom.. then watch No way Home. Nothing in the movie other than the end credits matter.
If you want to see more of Harry (Dane DeHaan), you should watch Chronicle. Some people hated it because it has that whole Blair Witch found footage thing but I felt it was a good, semi-realistic, "if your average person got superpowers" flick.
Dane DeHaan the guy that played harry is amazing in a film called chronicle, a found footage superhero-ish movie
“Literally there every time to catch her fall”
If only 😢😢😢
Peter and Gwen's chemistry is the highlight of the movie.
I love Tom Holland, but I think Andrew Garfield is my favorite. Also the electro theme by Hanz Zimmer Is epic, loved hearing it live too.
I love how u never seen this and the first one but andrew has been upside down and behind u this whole time lol
The opening websling is honestly the best I all the spidy movies
I love this movie! I love ALL of the Spider-Man movies but Andrew Garfield is my favorite for sure. I was confused at the time why the “Amazing” movies were so hated and it’s really nice to see people now appreciate them so much more than when they came out. Just wish we would’ve gotten another Garfield movie…
You really don't have to watch Venom before No Way Home. But there's no reason you can't watch them afterwards if you feel the need.
As always, great fun to watch Mr. Goochman! Can't wait to see you jump back into Marvel proper. Keep it up, my dude
"You're not gonna lose her, ya'll have to be together at the end of the movie!"
love the end notes, nice video
Hey, you really need to check out the deleted scene for the end of this movie. It's at a cemetery. I found out about it many years after the movie was released, and many people still don't even know it exists. It's absolutely worth your time. It makes zero sense in the context of the story, but Andrew Garfield gives the performance of a lifetime.
It's sad we didn't get more of him ....his swings are the best ....if they ever decide to go with him again I am down for it
I knew it was coming and watching your excitement about their relationship was so heartbreaking 😢
Electric Barracuda!?. Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding. What do we have for him Johnny?
I wanted Marc Webb to have a second chance
But what I didn't want was to see him working with Disney on their live-action remake of SNOW WHITE
If you liked Dane DeHaan (actor who plays Harry), you should watch Chronicle! It's a cool movie :)
I really love the opening to this movie. Some of the Oscorp truck chase/shootout was filmed in my home town of Rochester NY. So cool being there and seeing the production of a big budget film.
the theme song of electro is absolutely fantastic....hans zimmer team did great job
I love this movie. I cry every time... 😢 Andrew Garfield is easily my favorite Spider-Man. Would love to get an Amazing Spider-Man 3 someday.
It's a shame we didn't get one more in this franchise to cap it off, the whole ending of this movie is just devastating, and I have to give them props for going there. I really liked the change in tone in this movie, compared to ASM1, it felt like they were beginning to really have fun with the character, I'm a really big fan of the opening music for this when the camera is on the spider suit as peter is falling, and it's like the epic horns and stuff, it's just so good. Or when he's fighting Electro and the electricity sounds like Electric Guitars. All in all, I think they could have definitely done more with this, but I think the studio just lost faith in the franchise.
There have been whispers of a 3.. but who knows.. also I too liked this one. I do wish there was more with the friendship with harry and peter vs those few scenes.
I saw this movie in 3D and I gotta say it was epic. All the electricity and webbing coming straight at you was a incredible experience
To this day I never got why people hated this so much. I wanted an amazing Spider-Man 3 movie since the second was released... Never happened, and now I see people want it. Just crazy.
Loved the music, the Peter and Gwen relationship, the mystery with the Parkers... Hope we had an ending to all of that.
I wanted a 3rd pretty bad, too. Loved the suit, the action, the characters, and the plot wasn't great but wasn't terrible, I liked Harry Osborne in this. The cgi is fantastic. The swinging is great. The only negative people have is the plot, but in any superhero movie for me at least the plot is not as important as the other stuff I named. Plot and story are more important in a drama or psychological thriller or some story driven genre. In movies like this, as long as they are fun and everything else I named, I can overlook the story. AG and ES are goats also
Getting SOOO Close to No Way Home! 🤘🔥
Favourite spiderman movie right here! Best actor for him imo, and also the coolest suit!
The Gwen scene makes me tear up every time but his reaction made me cry of laughter 😂😢
I love how Alex took the time to read our comments about MJ in the Raimiverse🤣👏👏
Andrew and Emma really had great chemistry and they sold the love that Peter and Gwen had for each other... especially once Gwen dies and the aftermath of it
TASM1 not only had the writer from SPIDERMAN 2, but also had a writer from the HARRY POTTER movies, and a writer from ZODIAC
All because of LAURA ZISKIN
TASM2 on the other hand, had the writers from TRANSFORMERS
All because of AVI ARAD
prove it

i love how convinced you were gwen couldn’t be dead, i was exactly the same. Also while danny elf man’s theme will always be my fav spider-man song cuz of the range of emotions it induces in me. this one. the hans zimmer theme is SOOOO GOOOOOD
This just made me realize there are so many videos with your Spider-Man fathead in the background and you are JUST NOW in this one watching the movie it comes from. Love this!
This movie solidified my ranking of Andrew Garfield as the Best Spider-Man. I always cry at the end. I listen to the Electro Suite when I do my homework. I fucking love this movie.
It’s definitely a convoluted plot where a handful of things could have been removed and you’d still have the point of this movie just fine (both the Rhino scenes, a handful of the overzealous flirting scenes, etc) - but the chemistry between Andrew and Emma always draws me in because it’s very believable imo, and it strengthens the punch to the gut of an ending the movie has. Favorite Spider-Man suit by a mile imo. Sally Fields gives it her all even with the minimal part she had to play here.
It’s definitely a film I can come back to and watch every now and then, and I definitely don’t hate it like a lot of people seem to. Like a 6.5/10 for me
It’s absolutely too long though. I haven’t watched it in a while, but I remember thinking about all the scenes that could have been cut, even back then when I didn’t really pay attention to that kind of thing.
All of the Oscorp stuff basically goes no where. The stuff with Peter’s parents goes no where. Rhino goes no where and doesn’t serve the plot in any way. There’s a lot of Gwen and Peter stuff too, and I get it serves the ending, but there was too much. I think we go on 4 or 5 “dates” with them, and each of them are like 10 minutes scenes.
“Is there gonna be a Spider-Man 3” were my exact thoughts 13 years ago😢
Amazing Spider-Man 2 is really good! And I love the music.
Hans Zimmer composed the Soundtracks and it's so awesome!
Eg. you can hear Electro's theme at 9:46 and his story progression within that OST.
Or Andrew's Spiderman theme at 3:50
Alex... it's wednesday
love your reactions as always!
Your correct, he prob uploaded on patreon on monday
he have not seen "hanging with the boys" meme? Rhino, Vulture, Electro and Green Goblin
Im so glad you loved this film. I always feel like the odd one out when it comes for love with this one cuz everyone always shits on it. I really wish they made a third
I'm so glad you enjoyed this. It really got a lot of hate on release, in part (I think) because of nostalgia for Willem Defoe's Green Goblin. Sure some parts could be better but there is so much to love - and 10/10 saddest Spiderman moment in this one, if not for most superhero movies. Gwen and Andrew are great. I'd have loved to see them get a third film*
*there were rumours that execs/Stan Lee wanted Andrew gone after suggesting the potential of a bisexual Spiderman with a male MJ in the future but I can't say how much truth there was to that. This was all on Tumblr so not sure how much there is out there about this.
