Director Todd Phillips “Joker” centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone fictional story not seen before on the big screen. Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck, who is indelibly portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix, is of a man struggling to find his way in Gotham’s fractured society. A clown-for-hire by day, he aspires to be a stand-up comic at night…but finds the joke always seems to be on him. Caught in a cyclical existence between apathy and cruelty, Arthur makes one bad decision that brings about a chain reaction of escalating events in this gritty character study.

4 years later and I’m still going back to this trailer, and still feel the chills of what a masterful trailer and the movie is. DC might missed most of the time but when it hits, it’s a home run.

I remember watching this movie alone in a Theater full of strangers and it just turned out to be one of the best moments of my life. A masterpiece through and through. I was so stunned.
I still watch this trailer in reminiscence of the burst of emotion I felt on my first watch.
I keep rewatching this masterpiece but I just can't feel that surge of emotion on my first watch. It feels almost like a drug edict trying more and more of the stuff to feel the same sensation of first trip but fails.

His laugh is full of pain.
Not just that that subway scene which maybe spoiler alert is after his mother's death and that's when he starts experiencing his disorder. His very own mother is the one that shaped his morals and was able to mentally stabilize him but the only thing is that quote" to smile and put on a happy face... to bring joy to the world" is so broad and leads to confusion. Hes confused on exactly how to feel, should he continue laughing because that's what his mother advised him to do in times of depression, or cry like every other being. And at that point the laugh replaces his other expressions.

Meh. Maybe if 4Chan'ers were voting. That's clearly who the movie was made for. I mean, it wasn't a bad movie at all, but it was just dull in the way the plot played out. Which is perfectly fine when you compare it to Marvel movies, but to say that it followed a different formula is incorrect. It was a Hero's Journey but with a bad guy instead of a good guy. Nothing was really surprising in the way it played out.

This movie, wow, I'm still stunned by it watching the trailer. I remember watching at an employee screening at WB, I had no words. A co-worker had seen it a few days before and wouldn't say a word about it. I know now why she didn't. It's quite possibly one of the most moving, emotional, sad films ever made. And I mean that in the most brilliant of terms.
Two years later and I'm still re watching this beautiful trailer. Always makes me smile :)

This trailer is better than the entire suicide squad movie
Suicide squad felt generic at times. And it moved quickly without context between each scene, causing a confusing flashback sequence that didn't assist with the story much. It was bland, it wasn't terrible, don't get me wrong. It was just so poorly done. Most of the casting was good but the scenes undermined the potential of most of the cast sadly. And that joker was hideous in suicide squad. I'm personally not a Heath is the only joker movement supporter. I love Heath but others can play their version of joker just as good. Leto isn't one of those people but I'm sure had they given him more screentime, like the trailers made it seem, he might of been better than what we got in that flim instead. Nonetheless, it was disappointing. Suicide squad was just overall underwhelming and provided unnecessary confusion packed together with underwhelming characters at times. (Which is not their fault) Harley was great though, Deadshot was decent, and etc. But some scenes could of been better.
