EASY PLUG & PLAY 7.0 TO 8.4 SWAP - 18-23 Jeep JL/JT Mopar Uconnect Radio Upgrade

- Ever wondering if it is possible to replace your 7.0" Uconnect with the larger 8.4 Uconnect? Well it easier then you think.
On today's video, I will be confirming that it is in fact possible to replace a 7.0" Uconnect with a 8.4" Uconnect and that it is an easy plug and play swap. I will be installing my old 8.4" Uconnect into a 2020 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. This will show you all the steps you need to complete the swap as well as show you how to replace the LCD screen assembly on the 8.4" Uconnect.
For this install, if you have acquired a used 8.4" Uconnect, you will need to acquire an unlock code. This can be acquired from www.onlineradiocodes.co.uk.

Can you tell me what you connected the blue wire to on the bigger radio? Mine has purple, gold, and brown extra ports, but no blue...
If I remember correctly the blue one connected to the gold.
Offroad gauges work also?
I never checked it, but I believe it did.

No you would have to order that separately.
Xm radio and gps is already in the car. It’s in the same unit. That’s why it works

Hello, i'm curious about the Assist/SOS buttons that are above the windshield. is the SOS button constantly lit up, or did that feature connect properly to the new head unit?
No SOS light on and this unit seems to work everywhere, no issues

Anytime you are doing anything electrical it's always a good decision to disconnect the battery just in case.
do you think the amazon 8.4 uconnect will work on a 2018 jeep wrangler ? i currently have a 7 inch one in it.
I am not sure, but at least with Amazon you should be able to try and then if it doesn't then return it.
can you tell me what part number for the radio 8.4 uconnect. I have 2020 wrangler with 7 inch screen
Honestly I am not sure what the part number was, but I know that I installed one with navigation into a jeep that didn't have navigation and it worked. So I feel like the two models for the 2019 Jeep JL will work and I put a radio from a 2019 into a 2020.
Was the plastic trim around the radio the 7inch one or do you have to to get a new one when you purchase the 8.4 radio?
It's a different trim part, so when you install the 8.4" you need the trim part that works for that one.
I did the same swap but from the 5 inch to the 8.4 and everything works except the climate controls. Any idea?
Yeah no clue, possibly you need a Flashcal+ or a Razer to unlock the feature.
Need to go into jscan and change the climate settings
What is the blue connection go, since the 8.4 one dont have a blue one, i cant see which it go next to the white ?
Also my backup cam didn't work
I honestly can't remember, I thought the blue one was the GPS antenna, but not sure. As for your camera, that is strange.

I had mine because this is my old radio, but you can probably find one off ebay
