I get the raindrop problem, inside mount is one solution, I'd like to see how much this affects the backup cam function which is the main reason I bought it; I'm kind of wondering if I should try dash mounting the screen since I'd rather have my mirror back, but my dash doesn't take adhesives all that well. Wiping off the little cam lens on entering the car if it's raining helps, but on a longer drive you'll likely get a drop on the lens eventually.

It’s infuriating that these issues exist and Jeep owners have to deal with them, especially knowing that it is almost certainly due to cost cutting measures that put profitability above product quality and customer satisfaction.

About the glare issues, I added film protection (not the one from wolfbox) , and now the sun makes the screen so bright that you can see very well during the day. Do you have similar issues?

Overall nice setup love it looks awesome love the walkthrough you did a good job with that but when you had it down an easy solution for the drain plug is just drill a big hole underneath in the plate. Whatever kind of fitting it is, just determines the size of the hole you need. How to do what you got to take everything apart again.

It’s definitely NOT limitation of technology! It’s just crappy rear view camera. I good rear view camera will cost you $200-$300 that’s just for a camera. 4K 30FPS

Those look alright, but I prefer the ones made by Unofficial Use Only. Theirs are made in the USA from OEM materials with OEM styling, and they fit a water bottle, phone, and radio. Plus, if you buy a 4 door set, they are cheaper.

2 questions: I have one of these, but when i go in reverse the backup lines to not show up on my camera. Why would that be? I also received an upgraded rearview camera, and i dont know if its easy to replace by myself considering i had bestbuy install it. Do you have a video for replacing the rearview camera?

I have never liked inside cab lights because of light bleed and reflective nature of light and glass, gen 2 does seem better with light quality .

I actually prefer the plug in method to wireless/Bluetooth, but I think I’m in the minority. I’m plugging in anyway, driving is basically the only time I charge my phone.

$120 worth of led bulbs including headlights to switch everything to LED. Took me about 21/2 hours and that included removing and reinstalling my winch in order to get the grille off. Looks good and cheap. No hyperflash with any of the new bulbs and no faults lighting up on the dash.

04:37 what bothers me about these companies is they have dozens of products and rotate them all out when one gets too many bad reviews; you can see at this timestamp the "rearview mirror" booklet is actually for one that is mounted on a dash/hard surface, I see this all over temu and ebay and they never last more than 6-months.

Random late question. For anyone really. Since the UConnect radio has Cell 3G/4G antenna jacks. Could a generic Fakra to SMA cable be used? So instead of the Aucar antenna and routing hassle. Someone could just use the OEM cell antennas just like an adapter was used for the GPS? Then all you’d need is the included simcard adapter

At 24:44 that dot on the right of the screen is the “assistive touch” that you seen in the settings, I used that a lot on my older iPhones. I really like this mirror dashcam setup though, I need one now
