I don’t agree at some extend. Even though 4K is popular, I think 1440p60 would be a better choice especially they can focus more on CPU. For handheld, they can go 900p or 1080p. But maybe low battery mode have to be included. Lastly, they need a new feature or else nobody buys it, I think the concept of attaching extra stuff onto the switch would be cool, we can have dual screen or cameras done that way without compromising the system. They can be detached for use when docked. For example, the second screen mentioned earlier have a hinge and attached when in handheld. When docking, detach it and plug in two joy-con to play like a gamepad. The cameras can also be attached for easier travelling and detached when docked for a closer distance. With one rear and one back, even a microphone. Finally, it can have a sensor bar on the dock and just to have more accurate aiming.
@@QnjtGWonQNqVsbYyzjx4 yes. And that’s very much doable! Using Nvidia’s power estimation tools at around a watt higher than the switch we have right now on the rumored T239 specs you could get basically 3TFlops very much not a concern
I somewhat agree and disagree with your video. You certainly wouldn’t need to make docked mode a focus at all with what current technology offers it would be of equal importance to handheld mode still. I think you are heavily underestimating what they could do in handheld mode, the original switch was built on a 20nm node using an architecture from 2014 for its GPU and cores from 2013 in a chip from 2015. I know you are aware of this but keep in mind using a modern…say..7nm node you could fit in much beefier components into roughly the same area for only a little more money, i remember reading somewhere that given a power target somewhere between the switch from 2019 and the launch model switch you could get around 3.5-4 hours of battery life on heavier games if we have the same battery capacity with around 6-7 times the performance on the rumored customized Tegra we got from the Nvidia hack a year ago, I don’t think they will go with anything above 720p handheld however for the sake of battery life, even the deck is 800p (720p at a 16:10 aspect ratio) because any more would be far too much of a rendering work load for the screen size to be worth the lost battery, I rather prettier better shaded pixels with better battery life than more pixels, a lot of the lack of clarity on the switch we have now is more due to a lack of lamination and not quite because of the low res even if the low res is kinda eh. If you had an OLED you would notice it’s much sharper beyond the colors despite being larger, that display is laminated so it improves clarity. (Unrelated but thought I would mention it for anyone reading the X1 wasnt “outdated” for its time frame. The only chip on offer from Nvidia at the time that was better also shared a bottleneck with the X1. Memory bandwidth, in the switch hacking scene Overclocking the console heavily really only gave a mild resolution boost and I mean a very mild one for games with variable resolution as the console’s major issue is memory and not CPU/GPU performance, idk why this is a common misconception but thought I would share) As for gimmicks. I think they could honestly scoot by perfectly fine with only software gimmicks, the switch’s operating system lacks many many many features, a couple ones on par with say. Streetpass/Spotpass, play coins, maybe smth like trophies or achievements, themes, a couple built in apps, that sort of stuff could carry them through it, I think the microphone idea is pretty good too and it could serve double purpose as a voice chat mic if a game supports it so it wouldn’t be forgotten about later on, I remember when the switch was first revealed and people were speculating on a “camera” joy con. That was a somewhat cool idea but the costs of that might be heinous so I wouldn’t count on it. A camera would at best be built into the console itself. Say they try VR again they could use that for some form of tracking or they could attempt IR games again. Many options without totally revamping the hardware.
Also for the online they can just ditch the dumb online barrier and primarily being a enhancement device which is what Switch online should be. Add in GameCube, Wii and DS game with the increased power and second screen mentioned in my other comment. Then, maybe that will be the new expansion pack with the DLC for next generation game. For the N64, gba, genesis and switch game dlc they can lower that to base NSO.
@@animedomain8376 Oh. However, the switch don’t have enough power for a accurate GCN or Wii emulator and don’t have the specialise hardware for DS or 3DS emulator. I think the successor will let you attach second screen and cameras in addition of having 1.5~1.8 tflops performance with general performance similar to PS4 and Xbox one

No need to do it natively, FSR 2.0 or DLSS are both viable. No way it can be native in that form factor anyways lmao
@@ShellTree supporting DLSS still need ps4 pro/Xbox one x power so Nintendo won’t do that

How much do you think the switch 2 would cost?
I need to save enough money for this.
Imo 399.99
Probably something like that, yeah. The Switch originally costed $300 and the OLED cost $350. With inflation it’ll probably go up more
@@GameDomain true. Might even be 450$ which wouldn’t be awful if it had ps4pro experience
My guess 499$ inflation is a B.
Keep the Switch unit as the handheld. Release dedicated home unit with true 4K native. Nintendo will be creative. Improve NSO. Cartridge or Disc tho?
Thanks! This video tells me what I want to hear 😁
