You may want to try buying stright from Nitecore or from Garage Grown gear who I think buys stright from nitecore. I bought from both and no issues. 😮 power banks!
    Probably too late now but I'd recommend downsizing your phone, I took a pixel 5 (150g) and a NB 10000 in 2022 and it was fine, that was with lots of filming and navigating on far out. The other option might be a solar panel set up? which would end up being lighter, Definitely a good option for the first 2000 km at least! Anyway ultimately you know what you need better than anyone else. My back is sore already thinking of you carrying those banks ☺️
    Good luck, I'll be watching your progress and reminiscing! (At least I until I start the GDT 🇨🇦 in July)
    Happy trails!

    • @Andy-Mesa
      @Andy-Mesa 4 місяці тому

      He was making fun of solar panel people on Kyle's podcast so I don't think he'll seriously consider it. Nick Fowler had one on his FKT run, but he's a total newb.

    • @FrozensAdventures
      @FrozensAdventures  4 місяці тому

      I'm not bringing a bigger camera so I'd rather have the capabilities of the latest pixel 8 pro. It's the reason I upgraded to this phone from the 5. For solar panel I've look into it but everything told me that 1 full day in the sun (while hiking) = about 2000mAH at the cost of 12ish ounces. So a 4 day stretch for 12 ounces will net me about 10,000mAH or 1 full phone charge after heat dissipation and voltage conversion. Travelinbeat (PCT 2023) was using a solar panel and just ended up getting a third Nitecore NB10000 by the time he got to the Sierra. For 17 ounces I have 24000 mah or 3 phone charges over the course of 4 days.
      On shorter stretches it makes total sense to go solar but for 6-7 day stretches where I can potentially eat at restaurants and get a couple hours on both battery banks I feel it's the best solution I can find with the dual power banks.

    • @FrozensAdventures
      @FrozensAdventures  4 місяці тому

      Haha, well Nick wasn't vlogging so solar probably worked pretty good for him especially since he averaged around 50 miles per day.

      Don't use a big ass phone. My 10Ah battery charges my iPhone SE four times. The voltage matters, the slower you charge the more power you get out. A shiny new big ass phone with a super fast charge is going to kill a small battery.

    Power bank I recommand Iniu 140W Power Bank, 27000mAh High Capacity Laptop Portable Charger. You can get a 100W input, so it can charge in 1h50. And it get pass through technology, that means that you can charge your electronic while charging your power bank. Take the Anker wall charger 100W, same that your 67W but bigger. Downside, 620gr. This is the price to charge fast. With your anker, 4h30 of charging time and your phone is not charged. Its hard to find the perfect power bank for backpacker. good luck :)
