    4:57 - When importing a Minecraft map back into World Painter, you generally shouldn't import maps that already has buildings or trees. World Painter exports the blocks shown in the default top down view, so any houses/trees that has overhanging blocks will all be exported as the block shown in the top down view.
    It's hard to explain how it works, but generally you should avoid importing terrain that already has been built on.
    One way to get around this issue, is to use tools like World Edit. When you've exported your updated terrain, you can copy your already built city/houses into your new terrain.
    Edit: But please, before you do anything, please make sure to always backup your world, just in case anything goes wrong.

    • @MCGamer-tj9nr
      @MCGamer-tj9nr 2 роки тому +8

      It’s because world painter hasn’t updated past 1.8 . so when you export it back all new blocks would disappear

    I would seriously appreciate your skills being dedicated to making some rules of thumb more for actual Minecraft survival multiplayer cities itself instead of bringing real life to Minecraft. I think a city with roads designed for horses, walking paths and public transportation in the form of mine carts would be a super interesting topic and make a pretty unique video while still being in your realm of expertise. Otherwise, great video I enjoyed it.

    Hey man! I love your videos, and I’ve always found them really helpful, and so I hope this comment finds you well.
    Just a tip; I’ve sensed a pattern of you starting most videos by talking about your own cities for one or two minutes, and as great as I’m sure you are, it’s better to get to the point with the video. There aren’t many city videos on UA-cam, and so when I click on the video I expect to get what I want to see immediately, but instead I usually see 3 minutes of you asking people to pay your rent and talking about your cities, and this often disengages viewers. If you get straight to the point you more likely to get subscribers, however the only reason I haven’t subbed is because of this.
    Again, I love your videos and on the whole find them very interesting as their aren’t many people who are as interested in Minecraft cities as me, and this is meant in a constructive way. Also, Alpine1 subscribers pls don’t hate on me for this.

    one point you kinda glossed over is scale... lets be honest, many buildings are not gonna be 1 meter thick on their walls, but due to limits of Minecraft blocks, the choices are few without mods.. even with mods walls tend to be thicker than needed....

    @SpringySpring04 Рік тому +1

I'm gonna take architecture from real life(from Thomas Jefferson's home Monticello, Washington's home Mount Vernon, Andrew Jackson's the Hermitage, and James Madison's Montpelier. I'll add skyscrapers eventually. This video helped out as far as planning where my road goes and how it connects everything on the map!

    Very helpful, thanks. Currently building two cities in Minecraft, one on Java Pc and the other on mobile. Due to hardware limits I tend to create buildings with only ingame materials, so that even the addons all fail it wouldn't do that much harm... I find that for PC, keeping an older copy of minecraft helps a lot since nothing really changes on it. I can use my addons forever. Now with Android soft locking data folders I couldn't really import any of my worlds if I am to get a newer phone, my solution to that would be finishing up everything on my IOS and eventually porting them into an older version of MCPE on my Android 9, quite a journey but gotta keep the bloodline running :)

    I’m probably not the first person to tell you this but you need to change your patreon tier prices. The ones you have now make it seem like you don’t care. However keep the tier titled “pay off my student loan debt” this helps tie people into your goals. If they’re on your patreon page they’re likely already invested in you so seeing something like that might help them decided to go up a tier.

    • @brightondavis3766
      @brightondavis3766 Рік тому

      As for the other tiers they need to actually have more value than the first one. You’re hoping someone will pick the higher tiers for the hell of it. But why would they? It would actually be a poor decision to do so. Most UA-camrs just do extra content. It doesn’t have to be anything serious. The people who pay for it like you enough that they’re willing to pay for more content. If that’s just behind the scenes or even uncut videos. Bloopers even. The next time you make a mistake while recording, save it to a blooper reel. Then say “ $10.00 early access to videos, shout out at the end, and bloopers.”
