Khanyisa and Adine have a bond that is even above every elephant there - she sat by her side for a half a year nursing her back to health - their bond is deep and I never see her baby any Ellie the way she does our pink miracle

Another new aspect of Phabeni’s arrival is that I’m really enjoying getting to see a bit of a new dynamic,bc of this precious little baba he’s brought Lundi and Setombe closer and has them spending time together it just goes to show humans aren’t the only ones who’s love for a little one can create and strengthen friendships/bonds. Setombe is a dedicated mother and I’m so happy for her that she gets to expand on her love for Klaserie giving some of it to Seuntjie now,it’s her time to shine we love you our beautiful Grand Dame.🐘💙💚🥺🤗

So lovely to see the little one so content with his family. I think his arrival has perked up every female ellie in the HERD. Can't believe he's been there 4 months already. Very proud of Khaniysa's acceptance of her little brother. It was so sweet seeing Lundi 🐘 and Khaynisa 🐘 pick up Phabeni 🐘 in the morning at the Orphanage and Setombe 🐘 dropping him off at the end of the day. Phabeni 🐘 and Setombe 🐘 are joined at the hip. Aww, poor lil guy doesn't want his Mom to go. 😢 It makes sense for him to be diligent, since he already lost one Mama. It has to be what's best for him though, and I imagine it would disrupt the ellies to be interrupted with bottles all night as well. Soon lil guy! ❤❤

I know it must be incredibly hard work to keep the HERD functioning as they do, but I cannot think of anything so rewarding as to be with these beautiful animals day in and day out.

So nice to see Liverson! A warm bond seems to be growing between Khanyisa and Phabeni...and Lundi is so solid in her allomother role. It's exciting to see the difference between little girl ellies and little bulls! Phabeni prefers his ellie family to humans..and baby K was opposite! Such contrast is a great learning experience for us all...Phabeni picked Setombe as his mama and has never wavered! A deep deep bond between them is so apparent! Klasserie has stepped into her new role with such eagerness and ease! And beautiful Setombe takes her new role so seriously ♥ I will always recall the first time Baby Beni saw Setombe at the fence 4 months ago..and her great interest in him!!! Sure has blossomed beautifully since then and we couldnt be happier! Thank you Herd for the wonderful journey!! The entire Herd thrives with our much loved baby bull Beni!! ♥♥♥

Sweet Phabeni is having the time of his life. He is getting so much attention from all the aunties, uncles, sisters, and momma Setombe that he feels like the little king of the HERD. It’s so nice to see the various stages of a baby elephant. Seems like yesterday Khanyisa was tiny like Phabeni. In just a few years he’ll be that size, maybe even a bit bigger. She’s the big sister now, like Timisa was with her. ❤🐘

This is Wonderful. Life often goes in circles; Khanyisa used to be collected from/accompanied back to the nursery and here she is several years later doing the same for her baby brother. I'm so proud of you Meisiekind ❤️🐘❤️

My mom and I used to watch Phabeni & co together. Today, my mom left me. I am watching this video all alone, but seeing the calf she adopted thriving and being happy, really warms my heart.

Love how Setombe has to walk her new baby right into the orphanage , bless him when she leaves , he doesn’t understand he is still too dependent on his carers to stay with the herd full time . He needs lots of monitoring and milk bottles for sometime yet . 🥰🥰❤️
It's fascinating that the other elephants happily drop Phabeni off at the end of the day and go about their nightly routine.
It seems like Setombe knows that the baby needs to be in the nursery at night for his warm bed and bottles but it’s hard for her to let him go. They have bonded so quickly and completely. This video brought me so much joy.

I agree with you. For me, HERD videos are way better than the shows on television and the movies even. I have to watch every single video at least 3 times, and every single time is time well- spent. This is real life storytelling where everyone is a protagonist❤🐘❤... with a little bit of mischief from some.😅😅😅
He is growing so quickly and has always had an amazing and beautifully feisty personality. It is vital for both the herd and him to have each other. Such basic but vital needs. Him learning to be an Ellie is quite cute but important. He loves his humans as well - I enjoy watching him play with you as well as the love and trust.
It has been a wonderful journey - I was not watching when Khanisa was introduced so this has been a heart and soul journey for me. It is a honor to watch and learn. Thank you for taking us along.
I still go back and watch those older videos sometimes. I understand so much more about their behaviors than I did 4 years ago when our pink ptincess arrived. Khanyisa was just so tiny and with very serious wounds around her mouth and ear from that #*×! snare. It was much more difficult for her to suckle & feed until they completely healed up. Phabeni was introduced more quickly.

Such a cute video. When Khanyisa is munching on something tasty, she can't be easily distracted unless she hears Adine. But the way Phabeni was watching her was a good lesson on how to twist the grass, pull it out with the trunk and eat it. Khanyisa is displaying some wonderful sisterly behaviors, and this is heartwarming. I was happy to see Pisa and Timi come on over and once again Bubi accompanying Seuntjie and Lundi. Perhaps Bubi will become just a bit more relaxed once she gets to be with Phabeni alone. Setombe is being so gracious, yet at the same time protective. It seems like the whole HERD is now relaxed with Phabeni and with his delightful personality, he'll charm the socks off of all he meets~
