    Range Therapy is always good and everyone should get some time behind a 1911. Still one of the best triggers ever designed. Good video !

      A 1911 is nice. But a 2011 is nicer.

      Yeah. Except that .45 is a relic that can't compete with modern rounds

    • @TXGRunner
      @TXGRunner 2 роки тому +2

      @@theGhost_141 yeah, not modern like the 9x19 designed in 1901, 3 years before Browning designed the 45 ACP. Personally, I am partial to 38 Super (1929), 40S&W (1990), and 357 Sig (1994), all available in 1911s. I've decided I really want projectiles leaving the muzzle at over 1350 fps, which 38 Super and 357 Sig can do with some factory defensive loads.

      Nice to see American-made body armor being advertised on a pro to a platform! I would like to see soft body armor tested with a crushable backing. Maybe a inch and a half block of Styrofoam between the armor and the steel plate Target. Because although it will stop the bullet and keep you alive it won't keep you from being injured. I would bet the 357 Sig would be capable of breaking ribs. And even a 38 special would probably leave a nasty bruise.

    I have had this vest for about 10 months now. Good vest and not overly bulky. Mind pretty much disappears under a loose fitting tee shirt or hoodie. Like all these vest though, it does get rather warm even in the winter.

    I just purchased a BulletSafe ballistic VP3 vest 2 weeks ago. Always order a size larger than you are. Great strong vest, the carrier is very durable and the ballistic material is heavy duty. Great vest for the price of $299.00. I strongly recommend this vest for duty work concealed. I work armed security full time.

    What kind of ammo did you use on the test? I ask, because your garden variety criminal carries cheap FMJ, which is actually more effective at penetrating armor compared to hollow points.

    Even though I had their old model, I picked up the VP3. Ordered large after watching video on Monday and received it on Wednesday. Definitely lighter and thinner than the old model and had mesh on both sides which the old one didn't. Also cut a little different for better arm movement. I would pick one up before they ban body armor for us peasants. Also the old one was pure UHMWPE, while this is is hybrid of both Aramid and UHMWPE. Again NIJ certified, and USA made for less that $299 with code is unheard of. Also I have some 10X12 PE plates that can be slipped into the pockets if needed. Thanks!

    Great review! Not to be critical, but you skipped 10mm. And since you mentioned slash/stab resistance, a couple of jabs with a knife would have been appreciated. Glad to see you doing reviews and greatly appreciate all the 2A news and updates as well. Keep it coming.

    As long as the armor does it's job I can suffer some discomfort being preferable compared to bleeding out from a sucking chest wound.

      @scottplagmann3411 2 роки тому

      @@Cavalier1645 I have no doubt of that, and in the case of a headshot it's all a moot point. I am very hot and cold about armor, mainly is the protection worth loss of mobility. At least the cost is not so prohibitive and access to the 'good stuff' has improved. Guess it's one of those better to have it and not need it deals.

    Bullet type and velocity determines whether or not they will defeat a vest not just any common off the shelf round will do it. Load a full size G31 357 Sig with some solid copper rounds from Underwood and see what happens. Also vests don't protect hips, legs, arms. shoulders, neck or head and those are the places that when hit will stop a fight the quickest. Then there is blunt force trauma.

    Because they only offer their vest in black, I decided to customize mine with multicam. I am not the best seamstress in the world, but I think it turned out pretty good. Plus I added a grab handle to the back behind the neck, multicam Molle on the front and back and I sewed the shoulder straps in place.

    I remember 30 years ago the event that I originally had it was a lot thicker than that and I was sure glad when they started coming out with shirt carriers that way sitting on a motorcycle you can pop panel open on the side and let some air in. I remember buying those special t-shirts That was supposed to be designed to keep you cooler with body armor and honestly I don't think they work. LOL being out in Northern California getting 95 to 105 and sometimes a little hotter was plaid interesting in the summertime. One thing is that is kind of nice and then put in the pockets already in it because I remember back in the day the front pocket normally was free but the rear pocket you had to pay extra for. I remember that my vest cost me about $800

    Wish I could afford it. Ive been on a fixed income for some time now. I was injured, and disabled far too young. Took a long time just to gain a basic level of ability back, without being bedridden. As dangerous as our city, and state has become, I'd have grabbed a vest out of sheer prudence, if I could have afforded one. But at the prices that many vests run.. I just couldn't afford to do it. But these look to be good quality, high end design. Can't beat American made when it comes to the buisness aspects either. Glad some of our guys are stepping up and making them available for our people. The danger is out there and its most certainly real. Prepare as best you can.
