Very interesting video. To me who lives in Canada and have never met anyone other than a police officer or border guard who wears body armour for their job, certainly never met anyone who would put on body armour or a sidearm to go shopping this seems to me very different. Yet forty years ago I visited a 24 hour a day grocery store in Vermont and met a dairy farmer doing his shopping at midnight. He was wearing a Colt single action peacemaker on his hip over his farmer's coveralls and explained when we asked him that he wore it all day every day just like his shoes or his hat. He was a gentleman and it seemed to me quite natural. I enjoy your channel. Sure makes me think.
You wanna know whats really crazy? Take a compound bow or a crossbow especially and it will go through that thing like it's a regular shirt
Maybe try ball ammo as opposed to the hollow points. Generally better penetration than expanding bullets.
Not to mention that the "bad guys" use cheap ball ammo.
I'm a correctional officer and had to buy my own armor with spike protection because my department issued us stuff that is expired from the sherrifs by like 15 yrs. It's hot but worth it when we are finding one shank per two weeks. I might have to save to get me this one soon. Great review!
Organize some throat protection if there’s a risk from shanks. Knowing you are wearing body armor they’ll target your throat.

@@ibnewton8951 the problem with throat protection is there really isn't much that won't restrict movement. My biggest concern is the lower part by my duty belt where the armor doesn't fully cover especially at my 5 and 7 o'clock.
@@joelmcmahan7386 thank you very much! I'm a 8 yr veteran which is old for this job actually. I'm 2nd in seniority already. I tell my younger guys and girls that the way we get to work is the way we get out. We get paid by the hour not by the detainee. Respect for respect goes a long ways. It's just hard when we don't have the help or funding to do our jobs right. And then some of the public views us worse then the detainees we take care of. But we make due with what we can. Looks like it works nicely particularly since it’s thin and light. Wore level 2 for years on duty with a front soft trauma plate. Tried 3a and always thought it was to bulky. Thanks for sharing WTW!

That is a nice comfortable looking vest.
And idk if you have anything planned for the back side of the vest but maybe some sticky notes so you know where you shot and with what caliber?

I have 2 level 3 ar500 freeman (9x9 front and back I believe) they fir well under a hoodie or jacket, even under a shirt they are not that bad but if you know what body armor looks like you can tell it does print some and is noticeable. My favorite is my spartan armor lvl 3 in od green with side plates. I'm ver confident that they would all stop any handgun and even some rifles being lvl 3. The full spartan armor setup definitely has some weight to it but if I ever need it I feel confident that I can trust it!

I think these are a great idea, especially if you live in a larger city. The idea of self-protection is survival, I'd never voluntarily get shot, but this increases my chance of survival significantly and it costs less than any gun I'd carry for self-protection.

VC had acquired a lot of captured flak jackets..At Ft Benning way back in the day we were trained in how to defeat them..the instructor's referred to it as "bottom center visible mass"....We called it the crotch. The theory was even under stress and pulling the shot left or right, good chance of hitting an unprotected femoral artery..do that,, game over.

Check out the hyper line armor, from the tests I've seen it looks like a winner and is only 0.20in thick! Can disappear under a t-shirt

really nice vest WTW..wouldn't mind having one of these but that said ..what i "REALLY" want is to not ever be in the position where i need to have one in the first place...but knowing how people are and knowing me...yeah i think i might just have to ...not that i'm a bad a## cause i'm not,,, i just am not in any hurry to die and any advantage is worth ones life..but it's still going to sting if one does get hit with some of those rounds [alot IMHO]

You will not defeat a vest with ammo made by one of the big 5 ammo companies. I suggest loading that G31 with some Underwood XD or XP rounds to defeat that vest.

Hey man, I heard you can shoot a 222-50 in a 30-06. I mean you can becauese it's basically the same case, it's just the different bullets. Can you please test it out and test the accuracy. I think it can be an interesting video
No you cannot. Terrible idea. The bullet will not even contact the rifling of the barrel
