Such a fun reaction thank you!
Side note: Who do we need to talk to to make sure you get a copy of the books from the Women's Prize? You do so much to get us all excited about it, I think they are missing a trick not sending them to you!
Also, would love a Women's Prize shortlist cosy reading night please 🥰

I missed the live. Got the email from the Women’s Prize, so I have the list. Currently reading (from the Non-fiction list) “The Dictionary People”! Not dry, I’m learning a lot... great book. 😊 ❤❤❤ (Not familiar with any of the fiction list, not sure I will read any... will wait for the shortlist, but I might just read the winner, if its available in the US ;) ~Cait

Thanks for doing the Women’s Prize Long List live. Since I am 5 hours behind you, I caught up yesterday while working out at gym. The time just flew, so going forward doing all my booktube catchups at the gym.
I was totally surprised like just about everyone, but psyched to be introduced to new authors and even more exciting some debut fiction. Now I will turn to good old Libby to see if I can put some reservations at my 2 local public libraries. I think Daphne saw how excited you were that’s why she jumped up to see what was happening.
    ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Managed to buy, borrow and download everything, haven’t read any and only owned one already. I’m looking forward to most of them.

Really interested in the sci fi but nothing else grabs me enough to pick up without hearing what people I follow think of them. Upset Yellowface didnt get nominated especially with what happened with the Hugos over the holidays/early this year.

I only planned to read the ones that really appealed to me, but of those zero, ZERO are at my library and only one is on Hoopla! I just requested that my library buy a couple of them, we’ll see what happens 🤷‍♀️. My state has a great ILL, but we can’t request things published within the last year (or two). Shoot!

All these Irish authors, obviously these judges have spent most of their time reading the Irish prize list recently and simply voted for what they've read. Disappointing, when there have been so many other interesting novels they missed. Where's 'How to build a boat' by Elaine Feeney or 'Tom Lake' by Ann Pratchett or 'Falling Animals' by Sheila Armstrong. Was Elaine Feeney on the Irish reading list? Or Sheila Armstrong both of these writers are Irish? I don't look at the Irish prizes for books being in Australia. Surprised 'Land of Milk and Honey' isn't on the list, so many unheard of books, here. Interesting. Don't know that I'll be able to get to them before the next round.

Trigger warnings and crude prose galore for In Defence of the Act. I had to DNF at 32%.

Thought I might be interested in The Blue Beautiful World but just looked it up and it is the third in a series!

I watch another booktuber who is a big fan of Karen Lord, and based on what I have heard in her videos, I’m pretty sure it can be read as a standalone.

Not as excited about this list as last year’s. Only really want to read Meg Nolan. Some big snubs here!
