Absolutely love the dress you wore to David’s dad’s, it looked beautiful with the red hair. I’d most definitely like to join Claire from Outlander, such an adventure and being in Scotland in those times and then the bittersweet feeling when revisiting the castles in the present.
You and David are such creative and artistic people. Your decision to make gifts, for your family and friends, is lovely and very thoughtful. I would be thrilled to receive a gift that was created just for me. David might like to check out the website for Modern Folk Embroidery. The cross stitch patterns are designed by a man from the Netherlands.
I have read via audio So Late in the Day, Small Things Like These and Foster this year. I had not heard of Claire Keegan until last year. Foster is really beautiful but the ending is heartbreaking, so prepare yourself Lauren! 💔
I'm here for all the green! My favourite Irish film is definitely The Quiet Girl - so beautiful, and I also love The Snapper (though lots of outdated problematic bits), and I have also loved Into the West since I was a kid (it's from 1992 with Gabriel Byrne in it, and Brendan Gleeson cause he's in everything).
LOVING the green wardrobe
Banshees of Inisheeran for a Irish Film!
I'm also Irish, and I second someone else's suggestion of The Quiet Girl/An Cailín Ciúin as an Irish film. It's beautiful and heartbreaking AND based on Foster by Claire Keegan. A lot of it is in Irish (Gaelic) but with subtitles. As a journey/quest I think I'd choose Lucy Honeychurch's visit to Florence in A Room With a View.
Funny watching your cookin segments... u trigger my alexa:😅 so I have to cancel the 30min timer
I'd love to join Bilbo Baggins and the dwarves on their journey in The Hobbit, or maybe the children in Narnia!
I would accompany Alice on her journey in Wonderland! (Although it would be a bit unnerving!)
dresses with sweater vests!
Regarding the journey/quest/adventure question, if we're talking strictly about books, I'd love to join the female friend group/found family in European Travel for the Monstrous Gentlewoman (Athena Club book 2) by Theodora Goss, where the girls hop on the Orient Express and go on adventure throughout Europe tasting all the lovely European food along the way and meeting cool magical women (now that I think about it, it might be a lovely idea for a spring reread) 💖
Also, regarding the carrot cake, I'd have to say that I agree with your dad - coming from a south-eastern European country where we put carrots exclusively in savory dishes, I never understood the appeal of a carrot _cake_ 😂
Irish films... The Guard is the best there is!
❤️❤️❤️❤️ you guys
I have three potential answers to the question! Either I would like to go on errantry with Kit and Nita from the Young Wizards series by Diane Duane, or I would like to help solve puzzles in the joint dream space in An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green, or I would like to go on a scavenger hunt around London with the characters from Thames Doesn't Rhyme with James by Paula Danziger!
Morning ☺️ can’t you wear the dresses with different shoes/tights/cardigans so it’s a different outfit? It feels such a shame for them to be a one time wear!
I think you are right and I could!
This is exactly what I was thinking too. They are too lovely to only wear once all year!
Hi Lauren from Ireland 🇮🇪. Do watch The Quiet Girl, The Committments, Aftersun, The Banshees of Inisireen. For TV series try Smother, Hidden Assets, Blackshore.
Thank you so much for all your recommendations! You’ve reminded me I’ve been meaning to watch The Commitments for ages!
@@LaurenAndTheBooks Hi Lauren. You are very welcome. I hope that you find something to watch that you enjoy. I would definitely endorse "Dublin Murders."
Do you realize how often you pull your hair out and put the strands on the floor? I say this because when I was younger, I constantly twirled strands of my hair around my fingers. It was like a nervous impulse I had. Until someone pointed it out to me, I hadn't noticed I was constantly doing it. Then I cut my hair really short and couldn't twirl anymore - that fixed the problem! LOL
That's very rude. Lauren spends a lot of her personal time making these videos.
@@lesleylickley2207I'm sorry you feel that way. I certainly didn't intend on being rude or upsetting anyone, that's why I told a similar story about myself.
I made the same cake as you last month and found it almost bitter tasting! I think gram flour isn't for me. Not in cakes anyway!
I think it might be the same for me!
I got a different paint-by-number kit and I still need to finish it. Why does yours have two different numbers?
Also, mine said to start at the top, and with the darkest colors first.
You said 35 minutes to the Alexa and then when it repeated the time it sounded like it said 45 minutes - hence the burn.
Lauren - I love your vlogs. But your habit is distracting. You pull your hands through your hair - and discard loose strands onto your floor. It's non-stop. Stop it, if you can.
This is so incredibly rude! Just because you love someone’s vlogs doesn’t mean you’re entitled to have a say in their habits. You didn’t even ask, you just demanded. She doesn’t know you!
So pleased you enjoy the vlogs, but your comment about my habit isn’t very kind at all. If it bothers you that much, please stop watching.
You are right. I was unkind. And I'm sorry.@@LaurenAndTheBooks

Banshees of Inisheeran for a Irish Film!
We watched that a few years ago and v much enjoyed it!
