@Oreogurly55i feel it’s everything besides the first two that you need to feel that, i relate to the first two, but i know having any of the other disorders are horrible to live with
I used to suffer from kleptomania when I was younger, I got over it, I’m very lucky that I did
I always thought it was just social anxiety, but I have selective mutism (and social anxiety). In certain situations, I just lose the ability to talk. I don’t feel anxious or anything, I just don’t talk. It’s like my mouth gets glued shut
Sometimes the words just vanish from my mouth lol
Same here
Same
It happens when many people are around (and talking loudly)
Idk why it happens but it’s especially at school and my friends think I’m not interested in talking with them, but it’s really not like that
Can we PLEASE get a selective mutism video, there's such little awareness of this condition, we need to spread awareness to more people because it's crippling and most have never heard of it
About selective mutism, I think I experience something like that. When I'm under a lot of pressure, or tsometimes just randomly I can't say a word. It is frustating.
I actually have Selective Mutism
@HappinessinMotion1 Thank you so much for your answer. I didn't get the chance before to see one, but hopefully this year I'll be able to. (I'm turning 18 soon.My parents didn't want to get me a Therapist even tho 2 school psychologyst have suggested it.)
@HappinessinMotion1 Your comments are really sweet thank you. I do have fear of going there, because things have happened in my childhood, and I don't remember most of it. And actually feeling good is scary and strange to me.. Have you experienced this?
I think when I first discovered this I realized I might have it because I barely talked to anyone in hs or uni and never made friends. But I don't really care at this point, at that time I also discovered adhd and autism and resonated a lot with those and posts from communities about them, so I haven't done that much research. But I've always had problems talking in a group, ie I never would lol, that's always super frustrating.
I need serious help for that... Like I only talk at home or with my cousins.... Wtf
For selective mutism, I feel it happens under a certain condition like mine. I'm fine chatting away with friends or teachers, but as soon as it's some elder from my tribe or my mom's friends, I can barely come up with an answer and tape my mouth shut for most of the time. I don't know why, but I want to answer them properly, give a longer answer but they just refuse to come out.
I have that problem but only with teachers, I can talk to other adults or anyone else
I don't know much about selective mutism so this is just a random question. Does it randomly occur in certain situations (like a spike in anxiety during school or something), or is it a build-up in certain situations (like progressively getting more worried that you may be called on in class)?
@@nevaehmitchell4407for me it's when there's too much stress or I'm very mad at myself for example... Then I can't talk for a like half an hour or so
@@nevaehmitchell4407 I can't edit my previous comment but I forgot to mention it's very random and doesn't really build up for me, but it's probably different for everyone
I do have selective mutism for an very long time at this point, but i am also the type that likes staying at home alone
List of things I ate as a kid. Tissue and toilet paper, paper, dust, eraser, wood, thread and string, my blood when injured, my lips, my nails
i faced severe pica up to puberty, or rather when I learnt enough. Spider webs, insects, even these used to feel palatable.
The amount of times I’ve had to stop myself from ingesting light bulbs, glass, dirt or rocks would make you think I was trying to speed run my life. I’ve never eaten these things besides the dirt (a lot of paper and bird poop as a kid) but I find it’s the crunch I want, so rock candy and chocolate rocks really help with the texture craving
@@Danap-mykaykat glad we have lived through that phase and are able to laugh about it!!
Exactly
I hope one day all of us would feel better 🪄

Right
❤❤❤ur a good person ❤❤❤
Ekbom syndrome is so me I always feel that way. I literally started to cry about feeling those things I hate it so much, I feel bugs inside of me and I just panic and don’t know what to do besides freak out and scratch my skin. Though I’ve never went to the doctor I know I’m healthy but I don’t wanna seem crazy and get sent to an asylum. I always feel like there’s bugs on me or in me. The meme there’s bugs in your skin don’t help either I genuinely just freak out I don’t want bugs in my skin. I think I’m just crazy or there really is bugs in my skin. Either way I don’t wanna feel like this!!
Same. What should I do?
@@ongbht I’d say speak to a professional especially when it comes to something like this
It could also just be psychosis! Bugs crawling is one of the most common things to feel when you’re dealing with it. The one mentioned in the video is believe they are in you constantly as a delusion not just a hallucination.
@@VeinInthings I’m pretty sure I don’t have psychosis, I think it is a delusion not a hallucination. But idk maybe I’m wrong
Same, luckily now i know that i have this syndrome
Thank you for this! I love your videos and they are very helpful, and I appreciate how much effort you put into these videos!
Great video! As someone who grew up struggling with severe OCD, I felt alone. Different than everyone else. The biggest relief of my life was finding out that I was not alone in my struggles. I cannot imagine what the individuals with these conditions must go through. Thankfully there is help.
Selective Mutism, I didn't know it had a name, i just knew there were times/situations where I can't physically get any words out. I wasn't sure if it was just because I didnt want people to get upset with me for talking when I wasn't supposed to, or because of not wanting to draw attention to myself, when talking about things that upset me to people I trust, I've found myself unable to speak, so I have to type it on my phone, however, that also sometimes feels impossible, but its nice to know there is something actually behind it.
Having one of these made me realise why nobody understands when I tell them
also dissociative identity disorder!
I got early stages plit per:(
I have DID
One of my friends has DID
I have it.
Would anyone else be interested in a video covering misdiagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorders during childhood and/or adolescence, and the potential consequences for diagnosees later in life?
I think I have selective mutism since childhood but I am not diagnosed yet. I am diagnosed with avoidant personality disorder and depression. I think I also have social anxiety.
Another awesome discovery❤
Thank you so much for this video
This is too relatable but im trying everything to get better, talking, music, a green herb, my cat, gaming, holiday, spa, therapy, making an effort to connect with people etc (idk why im so lonely idk what am i doing wrong?) 😅🎉
I've been asking for a video about reactive attachment disorder, I am so glad that you did a video that mentions it.
I would love a whole video on this topic.
Thanks for another baller video ❤
Nope, just run on the mill social anxiety (and being an extrovert, it really sucks 👍)
Sometimes I feel like I have selective mutism, because sometimes when I want to talk I will just silently debate with myself and ultimately say nothing at all
Everytime I watch a video, I feel I have all of them 😢
Fr
Hypochondriac
U dont this vid just is how everyone mostly feel in any aspect of life
But they make u feel like u have a disorder
Just live ur life bro those things are for weak easy fooled ppl
Better stop watching them then otherwise you'll turn into a hypochondriac.

If your looking for rare or uncommon mental problems then maybe species dysphoria?
I have it myself and I’ve noticed almost nobody knows about it and some people I’ve seen even thought dysphoria was specifically about gender nothing else
Im really happy you guys talked about selective mutism 🙂
I’ve overcome reactive attachment disorder and selective mutism for the better part during my life but I will never totally get rid of it
Awesome sauce
I absolutely had the selective mutism, in middle school I would not speak to anyone except people I was close with
Idk if i have pica or not but if i see something inedible that i have the ability to eat im going to take at least just a nibble and im constantly craving pencil lead, paint, and marker ink. its actually so scary cus you know how deadly it is but you just cant stop eating the stuff
theirs a few more things i eat a lot but not as much too

I wonder if I have pica? Extremely often, I get the urge to eat some rock or concrete, and I never knew why. I'd often get really hungry by just imagining consuming it. Same with some types of toothpaste. I've never done it, because I've been holding myself back. I'm scared of what could happen to me if I consume it. But I've always wanted to.
Thanks for this amazing video
Maya Angelo had selective mutism after a traumatic event in her life.
this is so helpful, thank you
Please keep this good captain ✨
I have RAD, selective mutism, and it was discussed possible ekbom syndrome. I got dealt a fantastical hand 😭
I an a middle aged woman who has had Trichotillomania since I was 9yo. I focus on my eyebrows and eyelashes. In some extreme cases , (for people who pull their head hair) hair, sometimes in large amounts is ingested. Which, can result in medical complications. Especially, in the stomach.
I think I had/have that. I just get the urge to do so. I can stop myself now but a year ago it was really bad. I hope it goes well!
@@Nyx.0000 Oh gosh. I am glad you are in the Recovery phase. Well Done! It is a tough one. Best Wishes 🥰
@scorpiocand, thank you, don’t worry, i’m pretty much cured just sometimes still pull out some hairs, eyelashes and sometimes eyebrow hairs. I reduced it alot and i’m pretty much cured. I hope you recover as well. Maybe find something to distract you from pulling out the hair? I hope you get cured as well!
Those videos are very informative
I have the second one which is Selective Mutism
My daughter has this also
I have first & second one. I failed a college course twice almost three times in a row because I just can't speak in front of a camera & listening & seeing myself makes my eyes and ears bleed. I can't even go into shops alone because I'm so awkward. I dread conversations.
@@IDKWHAT2NAMETHISS I am the literal same as you. I just don't have the first one.
Ever since Covid happened everything changed😢
I like his voice
Guys, is there a disorder that makes you hear voives but they arent actually there like, theyre just inner monologue but it isnt you?
I’m not 100% sure but I think that’s a form of schizophrenia
OCD can cause that. I was always worried that I was schizophrenic but a therapist said it's common in people with OCD. I get it a lot when I'm going to sleep. Sometimes it's kind of like flicking through TV channels and hearing a bunch of random people say short sentences. I feel like it's worse when I'm particularly stressed or anxious
@cosmicbloodmoon I've been dealing with that actually but it's one off comments
@wminerva252 that's kinda good to know cause I thought it might be schitzotypal personality in my case
Omg tysm I was actually thinking of these and now I've actually got a response. Again tysm!❤❤
When I was a around 13 I would have extreme urges to just take something, didn't matter what. I would feel extremely jumpy and anxious until I did so, and since I was in school most of the time by the end of the year I had nine different calculators. It ended when I was around 15, but because of this I developed a knack for slight of hand, which I know only use as a little trick around my friends.
1:08 and 2:00 are the only ones I’ve actually heard of prior to this video 😂 2:39 follow up on that another common one is sand
I have a chronic neurological disorder called hydrocephalus it is where there is excess cerebrospinal fluid on my brain so theres more pressure it affects my thinking cognitive function process and other things i have shunt in meaning i have a shunt in my head and also pipes permanently for the rest of my life since it also was congenital for me
This video remembered me of that one kid on kindergarten that was eating
Clay thing. I wonder is he's still alive.
Wow 😮
Could you please do a video on PDA? (Pathological Demand Avoidance)
I have something wrong with me. It's not exactly depression, and it's not exactly anxiety. I feel like it may be linked to my ASD, but it is not just ASD. I can't explain what it's like.
Hi Brandon 👋 👋 👋
I didn't know selective mutism was that rare-
I'm glad I overcame it at a young age (6)
To anyone who has selective mutism, I hope you can overcome it as soon as possible ! (used a translator for the word "overcome", sorry if it isn't the right word)
you should do a video on DID (if you havent) !
I have a type of Pica where I eat myself I love skin nails and even the taste of my blood 🩸 I already have seizures and autism I only found out about Pica from my therapist
AYO WHERE MY SELECTIVE MUTISM GIRLIES AT, iv been diagnosed with that since I was 5, going on 25 now and it's not gotten any better, a thing to know about selective mutism, it's not just "oh I was like that when I was young" it's crippling and it will not go away without therapy and treatment, you can't just grow out of it, it's a horrible burden to anyone who has it, thank you
Hi psych2go i love your vids but could you guys make more video's about autism i know you already done that but I really like to watch more video's about that
Could I have selective mutism if when I am extremely depressed and first thing In the morning I just can’t speak even if I want to
I had selective mutism as a kid.
I have PICA.
So, my temptation to continuously eat chalk is a disorder😭
Can you do a video about a Glass Child??
since you asked, why not. i don't know if phobias count in what you're saying but i just found out my biggest phobia is apparently really rare. megalophobia. it. is. TERRIFYING.
I eat paper and sometimes I break off pieces of plastic to eat
Oh yeah, I definitely had RAD as a kid, but I don't think I have it anymore 🤔
I know about kleptomania. I think it's rare but more well known about
explains why i'm "weird"
I'm here because I'm studying psychology
W
same!
Ok I’m not crazy I just have kleptomania, good to know 😭 (it is *literally* like he said)
I’m here because I eat chalk while dancing.
I had to suffer with autism and it makes me feel like an outcast its not a gift its a curse and yall know it I wish i was a normal human being.
I think I did have selective mutism when I was a lot younger, at least that's what my speech and language therapist assumed it was. I didn't really get a diagnosis, I was just treated for it.
(I am diagnosed with autism as well so that kinda explains a lot lol)
I will still shut down and not be able to speak in some situations, but that's getting less and less common
We have a selective mute at work (I work at a school)
1:24 I worked as a teacher and we had a child with this.
I’ve got Fktupomania.
so i didn't see this one mentioned (not sure if there just aren't any comments on it or if it's just me) but apparently i may now have reactive attachment disorder... i mean i know i was never one for affection or all that sweetness and warmth and eh, but i didn't think it would mean ANOTHER condition... how many does this make now? i think at least... 5. lol, it's insane. but thanks to psych2go at least i know what's wrong with me hhhh, so thanks a lot for this video
I'm not sure if this one has been mentioned or not. But I have a rare (I believe) syndrome called "Alice in Wonderland Syndrome", Basically the world around me, or myself will feel as if its way to big or way to small, and in fewer cases (Me included) I will visually see the change, making it really difficult to focus on someone speaking, because their head keeps changing size, being very distracting.
Which video was the one y'all covered lachesism in? I can't find it anywhere, but I remember watching it years ago in high school.
These disorders are really very rare n Apetemnophilia is too weird 😮
fun fact: i actually have pica. i eat cardboard, paper, plastics, erasers, ect. its a bad thing. i sometimes think if i bite into something it would taste amazing, and its another thing i end up eating a lot.
…
…
… Do I have selective mutism???
I know I have Pica, I’ve literally ate through many cords and sometimes keyboards.
I’ve found that out a long time ago.
Are you the real chara?
Cool
Why does your comment say you wrote it three weeks ago if the video was published two minutes ago?😂😂
wait what..
@@theuniverse28same lol
Why your comment 3 weeks ago and it is two mins ago
Yes 3 week old comment, in 3 minutes upload video
Hello, I was wondering if you would consider having me as one of your video animators. How can I contact you about it?
I have pica I like eating paper I’m a child and have autism so I’ll probably grow out of it :D
I think I also had selective mutism
I have them all, even the common ones and everything in between. Tired of it
hi I just have a question is there a disorder or something that just causes you to be sad but really weird around people..?
👇🏻👇🏻 5:29
What is the background music? It sounds so familiar.
The first one.. that was me..
I maybe have selective mutism or it’s just the plecibo effect since I never talk at home but I’m crazy talkative at school, full on caregiver and ENFP, maybe it’s due to my feeling of lack of love, support and trust in my parents.
The bug one, my aunt and brother don't believe me but i have dust mites, and they are very noticeable when they bite or move, however you can't see them. I have sensitive skin which doesn't help. So far its been 3 1/2 months.
I have pica and I eat paper i eat sushi nori as a substitute.
An insect bites you and then he feels like the king of the world, what disorder could that be? does he learns to do it again and so?
I have had kleptomania and ekbom syndrome symptoms since I was 8, but I wont self diagnose myself. I always stole from the store and I try to avoid it for now, but its an addiction to get something you probably never knew you wanted, just like a nicotine addict wants to take a puff from someone else's cigarette. Its seriously horrible.
Does anyone know how to avoid this? Please give me tips.
Inside out 2 be like
seems like i have selective mutism
I used to have pica and kleptomania
Dang
Pica's name: exists
Brazilian:👁👄👁
ARFID an ED
How about conversion disorder?
1:32 fr whenever a teahcer picks on me i go red and stay silent blinking like an idiot 😭
I dont think selective mutism is rare lol (i mean maybe it is but since i have it i dont think it is)
I have anger issues
I can like that to do it
