Fabulous film. Thanks for sharing Cathy O'Donnell was only 46 when she passed away (in 1970) as a result of cancer. A lovely actress. Never seen James Stewart make a bad movie. Much loved actor.

What a Classic Film 😂😆 I'm WT from My Eye's 😭👀as these Old Classics can't Help but bring Back fond memories of Year's gone By. As for the Film 📽️🎥 it's Self? The Perpetrator is done in by the People who were Guided by His Greed & Evil Doings. Thus the Law & Justice was Served. Thank You for Sharing this Great Film 😌👍❤️🤔.
You know , these classic movies never get old I alway enjoy watching them It has its own taste and touch The actors and the music and scenes are original Especially the sound of the horses while they breath and running

They just don't make quality movies like this anymore... I truly enjoy watching classic movies, that includes Westerns... and the classic actors... my favorite Western movie actors are: John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart and Audie Murphy... followed by Randolph Scott, Lee Van Cleef, Clint Eastwood, (mostly in Spaghetti Westerns), Joel McCrae and Glen Ford, and Tom Selleck. They should have had a greater emphasis for romance between Jimmy Stewart's character and the cute lady... Weggamin's niece. Stay health, happy and safe America amidst this covid-19 virus hysteria. God Bless America... and the rest of the world... as we in turn, bless Him!
Superb film which hasn't dated except for the singing at beginning and end. The romance that is left hanging at the end is very subtle and the non-appearance of the Apache until the end is also very smart - this is a morality tale about evil in human nature rather than murderous enemies waiting to scalp us.
I had to laugh when the doctor came out of old man Wagonmens room and was asked how he was, the doc responded with, "He's still unconscious....." and was told to go on and finish what you were saying."Well he's gone blind, can't see a thing. He's been going blind, the fall just hurried it up is all. Sometimes the writers just don't think. The doc must have lifted one eyelid and said, "I know your unconscious, but how many fingers am I holding up?" Good movie as most of Stewart's movies are, he's a great all around actor.
Excellent movie with outstanding stars. Jimmy Stewart enlisted as a private in the Army Air Corps as soon as he could, after the United States entered the Second World War in 1941. Although still an MGM star, his only public and film appearances from 1941 to 1945 were scheduled by the Air Corps. After fighting in the European theater of war, he had attained the rank of colonel and had received several awards for his service. He remained in the U.S. Air Force Reserve and was promoted to brigadier general in 1959. He retired in 1968, and was awarded the United States Air Force Distinguished Service Medal.
Had never seen Cathy O'Donnell in another film except in Ben Hur as the sister. It was nice to see her in another movie. Great performance as usual by Jimmy and great cast!
James Stewart,s style was not like the manufactured, usual,Square jawed Cowboy that Hollywood created. He portrayed the real Man with his performances. His voice trembled with self doubt...he felt the pain that anyone would feel.He was as important to the Western Cowboy genre as John Wayne.
I wish we still had heros like Stewart, Fonda and Wayne for our children to look up to instead of the trash we have now! Our country is going to Hell and we have to watch it happen. I'm glad my cancer will soon kill me because watching this happen to our once great country is nothing but a slow death to me. GOD BLESS AMERICA. 🇺🇸
The Veteran, please my brother, don't give up, just think what joy you could get by seeing your country at least begin to return to what she once was. Try putting a mixture of freshly ground black pepper and ground tumeric, in equal amounts, into your food. There's something about the mixture that sends the cancer gene to sleep, very non-scientific explanation I know but, it does work. Just as a small clove of diced and crushed garlic, in your food three or four times a week will, once it's built up in your system, prevent colds and flu. I haven't had a cold or the flu since the spring of 1976. My youngest daughter, who still lives at home, has never had a cold or the flu. Her siblings, who have left home four and seven years ago, are now suffering colds and flu.
Mohammad Alam What I admire most about him is that he enlisted as a private without Press releases and publicity. He retired as a Brigadier General. He took part in operations and once a private told him hey Jimmy I heard you live near the Hollywood. Yeah. He says quietly. .' Ever seen Ginger Rogers.' said his disbelieving friend. 'Well, ummm I did some movies with her.' Once during a very tense moment during a battle he said 'you guys are lucky. You have to go through this hell only once. But I will have to get back to work and go through this again and again and again. And with Errol Flynn,no less.' Faithful husband, loving father he was and still is the most loved man in Hollywood.
@@djs9415 He was riding a horse in one movie and noticed that the horse was unusually intelligent and understood that scenes sometimes were repeated, and quickly learned where people wanted him to go or stand. He talked to the horse and explained what he wanted the horse to do in a scene and the horse actually did it. Stewart bought the horse and used him in several more westerns.
I don't rate Henry Fonda as a great Western "star". I'd say John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, Gary Cooper, Randolph Scott, Richard Widmark, Gregory Peck (The Gunfighter, A Big Country, Duel in the Sun, Yellow Sky are his best) Burt Lancaster, Audie Murphy, Glenn Ford - in that order. Clint Eastwood belongs among the Top 10, but I just don't rate his 'spaghetti Westerns' high enough to rate him as highly as you. Perhaps he could go in ahead of Glen Ford.

The Man From Laramie 1955. Will Lockhart (James Stewart) comes to the ranch town of Coronado looking for the man who is selling rifles to the Apaches, because his brother was killed with one. There he runs into Alec Waggoman (Donald Crisp), an aging rancher with a violent son named Dave (Alex Nicol). A conflict between Dave and Vic (Arthur Kennedy), Waggoman's top aid, helps Lockhart uncover the source of the rifles -- and also gets him involved in the power struggles at the Waggoman ranch.
One of Jimmy Stewart's best Westerns....and it would have been cheaply made, i'd say. I noticed Chief John War Eagle in the opening credits. Actually born John Edwin Worley Eagle in Leicestershire, England. Posed throughout his career as an American Indian. Arthur Kennedy starred with Jimmy Stewart in a few other great Westerns - Bend of the River (1952) and Cheyenne Autumn (1964)
Maybe it’s my age,but why can’t they make great films like this anymore,James Stewart was an all time great.
The golden age can only last so long! Unfortunately!!¿¿??¡¡?!
No CGI or green screens, just real acting.
In reply to your comment, they actually do make great westerns still. Two examples are Open Range and Broken Trail.
