I am a John Wayne Fan , & Also a Joel McCrea fan , And 4 what it's worth , Joel was the equal of the Duke . He had the same presence of film . Unfortunately wasn't afforded the Massive Big Roles in wonderfull movies like the Duke .

I am a Miroslava fan watching most of her acting in spanish during the gold age of the mexican movies. I liked her a lot how she did a great interpretation in this movie that I think was her last one, unfortunately

At an hour and six minutes, seemed like a rather short picture...there was more meat on the bone, i.e. the relationship between the Judge and Amy Lee. Still an excellent flick with a rather nice musical score.

I guess McCrea has to be my fave cowboy movie actor. Randolph Scott is much more prolific as far as exposure is concerned that kinda makes him over-exposed. Plus the real man behind the screen doesn't measure up.

The cutter blades against the fence at 31:50 mark require a motor driven mower to work. No mobile motor driven mower made at that time.
Horse drawn mower cutter bar. Certainly had them but maybe not at such length, perhaps.

He may have portrayed a clown, yet the man was a great singlehanded sailor prior to his passing, even crippled up with arthritis he could sail his boat and dock by himself, a very good sailor indeed.
