The "spring fever" sounds similar to the sweating sickness. The virus that causes it is possibly a distant cousin of the Hanta virus (spread through rat droppings). Disease specialists even today still know very little about this disease, but it's far less virulent now with better plumbing and pest control.

One thing I don't think he mentioned is that 'milk of the poppy' is basically the drug Opium. Heavy use of it is why the mountain is the sociopath, since he takes it regularly to ease the horrible migraines that he suffered from since he was a child.
Shoot you're right I should have mentioned the Gregor connection, I also should have mentioned you can overdose on it. Well if I ever update this vid I'll keep that in mind. :)

Super odd lol, I figured people would be a little thrown off by it, but I actually have a personal connection to them, I worked in Korea for a few years and have a good relationship with them and they have been super supportive of this channel even becoming one of my highest contributing patreon followers, and they just started a channel so I wanted to help them out. I did make this video specifically about medicine and disease though! So that was my attempt to bring a little relevance into the equation lol.
