I own a production company and just purchased the controller. As a beginner DJ ( I'm a producer), it's easier to use if you have a background in production, but not necessary. It's user-friendly and we just recently played a music series where I was able to DJ. I had 48 hours to learn the basics by watching tutorials like this. To me, completely worth the cost.
Numark NS4-FX Mic Solution/Workaround: 1. Get/Buy an RCA to female XLR cable 2. Plug in the RCA to the RCA Aux - White and Red. 3. Plug the Mic to the other end of the cable: The XLR female end 4. The Mic1 / Line Button Switch -- Set it to Line. That's it. Now you have a perfectly sounding Microphone with NO distortion.
I have a Pioneer DDJ-FLX6. Its a 4 channel controller with full size hog wheels. I've owned one for a little over a year now and have been very pleased with it. I think Pioneer is asking 599 for it brand new. I'm thinking about selling it and going with the ddj-1000.
I'd use Virtual DJ 2021, to get access to all channels and all features, however, I've got the NS6 ll, the best controller, I've ever owned, always hoped that Numark may have moved to an NS6 lll , and tided up some weak point's on the MK2. like the Microphone control, and placing a switch on it, like the NS4 had (I wore that controller out), and also put a digital Microphone that would run through too DJ software, So that you can stream and record, I use a Focusrite Scarlett for streaming my sets, maybe this feature is similar on the NS4 FX to what I'd love to see on an NS6 lll (If they ever build one) However, I do like the look of the looping buttons on the NS4FX, I'd like to see similar on an NS6 lll, however, I bet Virtual DJ would unlock the control in the due cause, I did, unfortunately, purchase a Pioneer DDJ FLX6 (i was not impressed) as a backup controller while the NS6 ll was in for repair, however, Virtual DJ did a fantastic job of mapping all effects on the DDJ FLX6 including the big Magic Button or the "Get Out Of Jail Big Button " control. I'm still wondering why Numark stopped the production of the NS6 ll, after such a short production run and seemed to move more toward more budget and mid-level controllers and streaming stand-alone? Just another point to note my Numark NS6 ll cost me 500 euros in 2019, if you want one now, I've seen them online for sale now at $1500, three times their original price, I wish Numark would move back toward flagship models. Great Review, Best Wishes from Zakynthos Greece
Great review sir! I wish I waited to buy this, but i had no idea it was released, so I bought the Platinum FX. Its all good because i never use 4 decks, only 2. But I really like the outputs and input, on this one, where I can attach a turntable for example. That's a really nice touch. I feel it's about $100 more than id like
Its main point for me is the Power Supply. It take away the worry of overpowering you MacBook bus power. Makes the sound better and the screens and pads much brighter compared with other £400 controllers.

I could classify myself as a beginner as I only started playing in Dec 23. But I’m retired so I can get away with 4-6 hours of practice a day. I really like my Mixtrack Pro FX but I need more than 2 channels to have more control over creating remixes. Sure, I could hop on over to Serato Studios to produce tracks like that but I’d rather learn how it’s done manually before I let a computer handle it 🤷🏼♀️ I also really like the tactile notch that “clicks” in the middle on the tempo control slider, which is absent on the Mixtrack Pro FX. It’s a great quality of life improvement that simply always me to beat match faster without taking my eyes off the screen. Thank you Crossfader for the video. Your content is super helpful and informative. I appreciate that your advertising plugs are always short and professional! Caio ❤
Can anyone comment on the performance pads and jogs? On the mixtrack platinum fx (2 channel version) the pads are not very responsive, they require a hard press. The jogs are also heavy and not ideal for scratching, and the led marker indicator is very laggy delayed-has numark fixed this?
Hey man I recently bought the platinum Fx and absolutely love it. Its a fantastic piece of kit. The jogs are heavy but feel fantastic. I'm not a scratch dj but have no doubt someone could scratch well on them. As for the pads I haven't noticed any issues.
Coming from someone who used to be strictly a numark fan, pioneer is way better. These controllers have tiny unresponsive pads, and believe me when I tell you, the jogwheels are NOT good for scratching at all. They're heavy and way too loose
Man I have one. I practice scratch: Baby, Drop, Chrip, Boomerang, Two click flare. I love, Its hard, but scratch its hard. I hope in a year will be good at scratching
Im the user of Numark Axis 2 (CDJ) and Numark Matrix 2 Mixer, im the mobile DJ too. I think i need this controller because Numark give a Cheap Price but with Professional Features like Build In XLR Output, if i buy this, i dont need a converter from RCA to XLR and also its a Lightweight to bring it anywhere.
FLX6 < NS4FX easily! I'm looking into upgrading from 2 to 4 channels! This seems like a great product and I wish I had this as my first controller, shit I'd use to the end of my days! But my current is a beginner controller and I'm in the market for a stand alone and/or a 4-channel deck! Great video once again!

Great review. But I think I'd stick with my Impulse 500 to learn on and then later on down the line then spend more money on high end gear. Id highly recommend people who wants to learn to use these guys they give top quality lessons.

I also have the platinum Fx and like you have no intention of using the 4 deck capability. I think people who need this will already have more expensive gear. I absolutely love my platinum Fx. I used to have pioneer cdj 200s years ago with a djm 400 which cost about 500 in total and just cannot believe that I only payed 150 for the platinum Fx. There's so much you can do on it and has a really good build. The jog wheels are fantastic
Thanks for the great review Jamie! I currently have a NS6 II so not really an upgrade for me but the paddles and dedicated loop controls (and price) make it a worthwhile purchase. You didn’t comment on the build quality; I’m going to assume it’s more like the Platinum FX than NS6 II? Thanks again

The biggest con I have with this controller is the fact that it comes with Serato DJ Lite instead of Pro I don't understand why Numark want their customer to spend more money. Just add DJ Pro and call it a day. The price is good until you have to pay extra for the software.
At 500 bucks that a hell of a blow to pioneer. That xlr is huge.

I got some real thinking to do here... but at the end I know I will get both... haha however which one to get first??? not sure... this was a great video helped a lot, thanks! and hi from Utah USA
@@robertbaileyjr.3524 It should be a fair upgrade if you bought Serato DJ Pro while you had the SB3. Even if you did, I assume you would need a Serato-compatible media player to make all four decks individually interactive.
I use sampler pad mode as an extra channel(s) on my two deck controller, but one thing I miss is that I don't have control over EQ, all I do is freeing one of the decks and load quiclky what is playing from a sampler and then deck level up, sample off so that I can control eq and transition smoothly. So having extra real channel is important. I'm using vdj. I think the only downside here is the price and serato lite, because if you will want to go Pro latter on, you'll pay more money than buying straight away Serato pro supported controller.
I just upradged my ddj-400 to this numark. Did not received it yet, but im really really looking forvard to play on it. Im a bedroom dj, I only play for myself and for friends, I think if you want to be a DJ thats kinda cringe xdd but just to be 100% transparent with my use case. I have been using my ddj-400 for at least 4 years, and i lovit. BUT the reason for the upradge is pretty simple: 4 hannel!!! And the beefy booy output, and the ACTUALLY really competetive/agressive pricing!!! I really dont care about the other stuff. Once I get it, I might write down here my exprerience, if others are interested in it.
@@yaayimanalien tldr: Mixed, but overall i'm happy with it. Just need a few extra steps to be a fully functioning begginer dj controller. 7/10 A bit longer: The deck itself and the build quality feels super good! The ddj-400 felt so cheap. Not this one. The knobs and Display is super good! Unfortenatelly I had a problem with one of my jog-wheels touch capacity thing. It is a common problem with this controller, I bought it new so they gave me a new one. So far no problem with this one. I did not pay for the fix or anything else. Overall with the hardware itself I'm super happy! But not with the software. I really miss rekordbox. Curently I'm using Serate Lite (The free version) and it's kinda wack for what I use. I don't really mess with the fx section I would only use the 4 channels. But with the free version you can only SEE 2. ( you can use the 4 channels!! but you will need to pay to see the other two channels ) And there is something very weird going on with the latency. Even if I put the latency to the absolut lowest 1ms (I think) response time, there is still a noticeable delay. I'm using my desktop PC, it's a decent video editor PC (i5 12600k + Vega 56) so power is not the problem, I also saw others complain about this issue. BUT you can use other DJ software with it, I did not tried the other ones yet. Tbh I think maybe I'm just gonna get a p*r*ted version of serate. Pluss: The hardware is good quality, The output + jog wheel display is super super nice! Cons: I miss the rekordbox software
@@richardnemes2055 i see. i personally use serato pro through "unofficial ways" and it works well. i was trying to decide between this numark controller and the traktor s3, as these are the cheapest 4 channel controllers with professional audio outputs. the s3 looks way better aesthetically, but there's a lot of mapping of my own that I'd have to do. does support serato as of yesterday though. might be interesting.
@@yaayimanalien they are physical buttons with the name of the actuall fx, you can not change them on the free version of serato. (Maybe you can on the paid version) but since the buttons are named after the fx itself i doubt its possible
I like the newmark brand and it’s a really nice controller but maybe VMS5 has pretty much those same features but it’s a stand alone controller as well.
Looks nice. But I love my Mixstream Pro (people don't like the speaker but you don't have to use them) and I know how to work Engine DJ so we'll after all the practice with it. 😁. So my next upgrade would be something crazy like SC6000 or else the Prime 4. Question tho, where is the slip mode on this?
I have ddj-1000 and numark 3 platinum (same build quality with platinum fx), the ddj1k is much better, and rekordbox also (e.g sync not so good in serato), worth the +price
@@d_m1nhh...also SRT 1000 has 2 extra channels for aux/mic/turnt....etc. This numark does not..but for the price...wow... cant wait to get my hands on this one
@@tomekTG yeah, I also prefer Pioneer layout rather than anything. But for the price and the features, build, sound quality,... Seems like Numark is the winner

I am using Windows 10, latest version of Serato Pro and have tried every USB port and different cables but all I get is "Error loading MIDI xml" and "Hardware cannot connect to Serato DJ Pro" .. Can anyone please help!!? Thanks
Thank you for your video. I was interested in what you said at the end regarding the 4 channels. I've been djing for 10 years now using my Numark Express which has 3 channels. If I were to buy another mixer and a 2 channel Pro to take out on a gig or as a back up what would you recommend please.
I still don't like the position of the tempo faders. They should be lower to not constantly get in the way when using the wheels for beat matching. I have the FX Platinum wiht the very same annoyance.
nice mixer, but i have 2 mixtrack plat. fx, i was really hoping that numark would add to it new controller on board efx, bluetooth that would been a plus feature, oh and i must mention i do have the numark scratch i was waiting the uprade to the scratch..... i gotta say other mixer and controller are looking better i'm so confuse at numark after this....2 visible channels, 2 mic inputs, booth out, and xlr outs and this is what we are getting from numark........... hmm
Hello. Is it that the color of the performance pads remains white (the color mode when the pads are pressed) even when using Serato Pro as I have? Thank you for your answer :-)
__Why 4 channels is better than 2? You can have separate channel for white noise, since noise too agressive and would need to be EQ-d down a bit - and that's what a seperate channel can do. Leting 2 monotonous tracks play at the same time and coming in with a third track - another need for an extra channel. __4 channels is way better than two. But it kind of looses its point, if you can't use those two extra channels for external sources, or at least one of the channels for external source. __Another con is that you can't really choose where to send the effects (or can you?), they just apply to whatever is master out. Let's say you use the advantage of playing on 3 channels at the same time, but can't apply an effect to a channel seperately (except filter), then what's the point? Complexity demands its ways. __What I do find awsome is the functionality of the pads. Toneplay for instance, even NS6II doesn't have that. Using pads for beat-jump is nice new feature (for the pads) and a scratch bank if quiet clever. Pads feel probably as good as on any Numark controller, at least they don't click as they do on some of the Pioneer controllers. The toggle knobs are attractive to be messed around, let your fingers dance. __Good it has seperate loop section and the general position buttons is not mirrored, get your mucle memory satisfied. __It's a shame the pads are white only, no colours on them. If you take the money to go serato pro, but then discover there is no physical slip/quantize button, then it really is midrange controller.
I’m thinking about buying a ddj-800 or a 1000, but I’m worried that maybe pioneer may release something new that would overcome those models in the next months or so… so I don’t know what to do, do you guys have any news about it?
Same here im waiting for buy some new controller like prime 4 but im waiting for new model come first. Its hard for see leaked for dj than new technology leaked coming tho
All you have to ask yourself are 3 questions: 2 or 4 channel? Portability important to you? Bc the 1000 is big and quite heavy...lastly how's the used dj gear market where you live? If it's good you can always sell and upgrade
I don't get these 4 channel beginner controls honestly.. There are so many things to master before moving to 4 channel mixing. By the time (skill) you get there, you would go with a pro level 4 channel controller or players with a mixer. And for a beginner this can do more damage than good as the focus mite go lean into learning mixing with 4 channels from the get go which can cause frustration and lead to quitting the whole thing all together. I was sure the FLX would be considered as a mistake and that would be the end of it. But if competitors rolling out their versions, I mite be missing out on something here

Numark NS4-FX Mic Solution/Workaround:
1. Get/Buy an RCA to female XLR cable
2. Plug in the RCA to the RCA Aux - White and Red.
3. Plug the Mic to the other end of the cable: The XLR female end
4. The Mic1 / Line Button Switch -- Set it to Line.
That's it. Now you have a perfectly sounding Microphone with NO distortion.

I got some real thinking to do here... but at the end I know I will get both... haha however which one to get first??? not sure... this was a great video helped a lot, thanks! and hi from Utah USA
I'll stay with my 4 channel platinum fx no xlrs but I can do on battery power pretty much anywhere
I'm so happy rn let's gooo
Would this be a good step up from the pioneer sb3?
I have the SB3 and that's the question I came to get answered
@@robertbaileyjr.3524 It should be a fair upgrade if you bought Serato DJ Pro while you had the SB3. Even if you did, I assume you would need a Serato-compatible media player to make all four decks individually interactive.
Looks great I can't wait to get my hands on one. I am slowly turning into a Numark fan boy since I've been using my mixstream pro.
Hi. Thanks for this review. I have question about how to change time on jog’s? I use DJ Serato PRO.
Once I get it, I might write down here my exprerience, if others are interested in it.
how are you liking your upgrade?
@@yaayimanalien tldr: Mixed, but overall i'm happy with it. Just need a few extra steps to be a fully functioning begginer dj controller. 7/10
A bit longer: The deck itself and the build quality feels super good!
@@richardnemes2055 i do have one question though. are the 6 fx of this unit remapable? like, can i change them for other ones?
@@yaayimanalien they are physical buttons with the name of the actuall fx, you can not change them on the free version of serato. (Maybe you can on the paid version) but since the buttons are named after the fx itself i doubt its possible
does this controller work with virtual dj as well so you can use more effects activated by the computer
Hi. Thanks for this review. I have question about how to change time on jog’s?
Pitch fader seems to be lighter and faster than the platinum/pro FX pitch
I like the newmark brand and it’s a really nice controller but maybe VMS5 has pretty much those same features but it’s a stand alone controller as well.
Looks nice. But I love my Mixstream Pro (people don't like the speaker but you don't have to use them)
and I know how to work Engine DJ so we'll after all the practice with it. 😁.
So my next upgrade would be something crazy like SC6000 or else the Prime 4.
Question tho, where is the slip mode on this?
If it’s like my Mixtrack Pro then it’s Shift + Stutter Pad(#5)
It should be a crime for any midrange controller to not have xlr outs(looking at u FLX6) so shoutout to numark. Lol. Good review.
The FLX6 is the same as the WeGo1 for the mic subject
I'm in 2 minds, I don't know weather to buy the Numark NS4FX or the Pioneer Rev 1....?
ns4fx numark where is the manual loop. Can this be discussed in detail please
Question.. Are there any upgrades (Firmware) for the NS4FX? Everything is lagging on my NS4FX - scratching , cue pads , sound FX all delayed!
Thanks for video very informative but I still think I'll be going for the ddj 1000
I have ddj-1000 and numark 3 platinum (same build quality with platinum fx), the ddj1k is much better, and rekordbox also (e.g sync not so good in serato), worth the +price
Both are 4 channels controller but the Numark is no where near the 1000. The Numark will beat the hell out the FLX6 for sure
@@d_m1nhh Not sure, because the knobs layout of Pio better for me
@@d_m1nhh...also SRT 1000 has 2 extra channels for aux/mic/turnt....etc.
This numark does not..but for the price...wow... cant wait to get my hands on this one
@@tomekTG yeah, I also prefer Pioneer layout rather than anything. But for the price and the features, build, sound quality,... Seems like Numark is the winner
Can you just use a standard aux cord to plug into a portable speaker?
My NS4FX just arrived and it will NOT connect with my Serato DJ Pro (I have a lifetime license when I bought it years ago). I am using Windows 10, latest version of Serato Pro and have tried every USB port and different cables but all I get is "Error loading MIDI xml" and "Hardware cannot connect to Serato DJ Pro" .. Can anyone please help!!? Thanks
Did you get help, am stucked here with the same problem, if yes, can you help me
@@estonyoung1548 Hi. The NS4FX was awful so I sent it back and ended up buying the RANE ONE.. best thing I've ever bought!
Gracias ,máster por tus vídeos son de mucha ayuda ,mucha información, valiosa que hace que aprenda más saludos desde Colombia, excelente.guia .
Thank you for your video. I was interested in what you said at the end regarding the 4 channels. I've been djing for 10 years now using my Numark Express which has 3 channels. If I were to buy another mixer and a 2 channel Pro to take out on a gig or as a back up what would you recommend please.
Need Guidence, It is a great video but I want to know How to use beat fx like pioneer in numark NS4FX ?
Hey question how would I connect this to a laptop before I buy this?
I still don't like the position of the tempo faders. They should be lower
to not constantly get in the way when using the wheels for beat matching.
I have the FX Platinum wiht the very same annoyance.
nice mixer, but i have 2 mixtrack plat. fx, i was really hoping that numark would add to it new controller on board efx, bluetooth that would been a plus feature,
oh and i must mention i do have the numark scratch i was waiting the uprade to the scratch.....
i gotta say other mixer and controller are looking better i'm so confuse at numark after this....2 visible channels, 2 mic inputs, booth out, and xlr outs and this is what we are getting from numark........... hmm
Hello. Is it that the color of the performance pads remains white (the color mode when the pads are pressed) even when using Serato Pro as I have? Thank you for your answer :-)
Thanks, also , I love your hair now compared to before :)
If you apply an fx will it be applied for all 4 decks or the deck you are currently?
Can you connect the controller to Sonos sound system ?
Does it have split cue? I feel like split cue is hard to find unless you go very expensive
can i use Numark NS4FX with ipad
Can I use it with DJAY by algorithm
Can you use virtual dj N4 to match this controller and play
Is this a good upgrade for DDJ400?
I made this comment without finishing the video,
Gonna go with FLX 6 tho.
If you are using serato, yes.
I want to purchase this one
is DDJ-FLX6 work with tractor pro 3?
great review
does anyone know how i can get my Sync to actually sick properly?
Hi! What are the buttons on the front? "A off B"
The only thing is only 4 channel controller have xlr which is better sound
How much does t cost to upgrade to serato dj Pro?
that's very cool!
I don't like the effect buttons between channel's knobs.
🔥🔥🔥
Hi! I have a nunark party mix and want to upgrade. Should I grade up to the ddj 800 or a cheaper one ?
That would definitely be a big upgrade. Just to your research and get some reviews. ☺️. Because it's completely different than what you already have.
How do you turn down the sampling volume while playing music? It doesn't have such a function, right?
Unfortunately not right off the mixer, you'll have to turn it down on the software
@@DJARACHN1D did you have any problem with the microphone channels?
I love Numark products excluding pro 3
Is there any app to use with on iOS!?😩
Keep it simple. Why not have Serato Pro included already with all controllers .
no incluye Serato dj PRO :/
hELLO. IT WORKS with VDJ ?10x
Will this work with virtual dj pro
I can’t even find this thing for sale ?
it's on amazon

If it's good you can always sell and upgrade
they will be releasing a ddj400 upgrade soon, probably flx4; with 2 channels. maybe in late autumn or 2023 they will do something with the 800/1000

Entered the giveaway for that dj controller
I don't get these 4 channel beginner controls honestly..
There are so many things to master before moving to 4 channel mixing.
By the time (skill) you get there, you would go with a pro level 4 channel controller or players with a mixer.
And for a beginner this can do more damage than good as the focus mite go lean into learning mixing with 4 channels
from the get go which can cause frustration and lead to quitting the whole thing all together.
I was sure the FLX would be considered as a mistake and that would be the end of it.
But if competitors rolling out their versions, I mite be missing out on something here
