One of my favorite scenes in Sailor Moon was that episode with that legend of the jealous lake monster at the onsen. The legend where centuries ago, this girl loved this guy so much. But he was in love with an "angel" from the sky. And the first girl was like, so mad. And turned into that monster. And then fast forward to Sailor Moon's time, Usagi saves the monster-girl so she can move on. And as she's ascending, she recognizes Mamoru behind his mask, implying that he was the guy from those centuries ago. And that the angel, had to be Usagi from the moon. I feel bad for the girl, of course. But i love those tropes where the 2 lovers always choose each other. No matter the decade, dimension, lifetime. IDK. That's just kinda cool to me. And the warm sense of familiarity the way that scene was shot. How it said so much with so little was *chef's kiss.
I identify strongly with this song because not only is it beautiful, my sign is the same as Usagi (Cancer) and my beloved husband's is the same as Mamoru (Libra). We even did a Serenity and Tuxedo cosplay at a convention once.

Lunar Sagittarius To me the new series could stir no emotion or feeling whatsoever. The classic anime though, every sailor had a soul, a personality, as if they really existed. Every song hit that soft spot in my heart. Sailor moon left such strong emotions and memories that although it has been years, I still feel as if I was back in those days. The love I have for this anime never fades away.

There will never be another better time for animation than the last decade of the previous century, yes the 90s. I miss those simple and relaxing days. I miss watching these animes by non cable TV.
